Hyde Park, London 4:56 AM
Hyde Park, one of the largest Royal Parks of the great City of London, was shrouded in fog. This was not unusual- the city was well known for it's shrouded nature. What was unusual was that one particular patch of fog was -wrong-.
It was located deep in the park, and it was different. This patch of fog crackled with energy, seemingly alive. The grassy area around it seemed to thrum with life, and a causal observer, if they had been present, would have noticed the flowers starting to bloom around it.
They would have also noticed a large creature crawl forth from this fog bank after a time, it's multiple red eyes glistening in the dark. It skittered into the wooded area nearby, confused and disoriented. The bank of fog seemed to calm down as it left, dispersing into a more familiar mist.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*
London
The next Week
"In the past few days, reports of mysterious attacks against animals in Hyde Park have continued to rise. Several of the city's destitute who spend time in the park have reported 'sightings' of large monsters, but these reports are being discounted by the head of the local police..."
(OOC: Such reports you would have heard on this day. Each of you is currently on your way to some destination important to you, be it work, school or play. As you make your way into the park, each of you will find yourselves in a secluded area of the park, and run into each other. There, the Red-Eye Scorpion will attack!)

As Eli ran he saw others approach from the forest, clearly on the run from the very same thing that was chasing him. "Great...there's more than one" He thought to himself.
It turned out these were smarter than he thought at first, as he soon found himself nearly running into the others. The scorpions had surrounded them, purposely chased them into a circle so they couldn't get past them. Eli, placed the girl down, moving in front of her and pulling his fists up. Looks like he was going to have to fight the scorpion hellspawns after all.
"Oi! Get down, will ya? Hydrus, get 'em!"
A man had appeared from the fog, yelling the command with a thick accent. As he did, another being straight from the realm of fiction flew from out of the fog, bashing aside one of the scorpions before it could attack.
"Red-Eye Scorpions, Begone!"
It was a woman this time, and after a series of martial arts like movements a shadow gripped each of the scorpions, pulling them back to whatever evil hell dimension they'd most certainly come from.
"Ah, we had some locals. Anyone hurt?"
There were two of them, a man of clearly scottish ancestry and a woman who appeared to speak with an australian accent. The strange thing from before now hovered besides the man, and appeared to be humanoid, but made entirely of water. For now it seemed to be staying put, and from their actions he assumed they didn't want to kill them, but he couldn't be too careful.
"Oh, bloody hell. I'll get the Cyber Viruses."
While the others behind him appeared to relax, some even offering a few jokes, Eli kept his fists up and ready. He didn't know what was going on but he sure as hell wasn't going to let it just go by without getting any answers.
"Hey! What the hell's a cyber virus!? What the hell were those scorpions!? Who even are you people!?" He demanded, keeping his eyes on the water thing.

The person who Kate hadn't yet figured out, at first she thought he might of been the killer. Then when he grabbed her and run, various other thoughts entered her mind, one of which was 'knight'. He sat her down and placed himself in the path of the creature, looking as if he intended to do battle with it.
"Oi! Get down, will ya? Hydrus, get 'em!"
A man , with a thick accent, said as he emerged from the fog. As he said this a blue figure shot at one of the scorpions delivering a powerful blow before returning to it's master's side. She couldn't help but stare at the blue figure it seemed oddly familiar to her.
"Red-Eye Scorpions, Begone!"
A lady who was with the man said as she made several quick motions that resulted in all three scorpions being grabbed- and apparently devoured, by shadows.
"Ah, we had some locals. Anyone hurt?"
Kate's mind was trying to process what had happened. She got chased by a giant monstrous scorpion. Some random Irishman came out of no where and saved them with, well it wasn't exactly a mer person, well not like one normally thinks anyways. And now some lady, just commanded the shadows to eat the scorpions.
"Oh, bloody hell. I'll get the Cyber Viruses."
Kate didn't like the sound of Cyber Viruses. Viruses themselves sounded bad enough, adding something like cyber didn't make them sound any nicer.
"Hey! What the hell's a cyber virus!? What the hell were those scorpions!? Who even are you people!?" The guy who had carried Kate away from the scorpions demanded,
"Um... I think cyber viruses might have something to do with human experimentation." Kate said without to much thinking at all. "Wait... Those scorpion things weren't failed experiments were they?"

To be sure, the many who had survived the Creature attack were a lively bunch. Mina approached them, while Derrick began fishing through his bag for the jar of Cyber Viruses he normally kept on him.
"My pride tingles a bit...And I think I may have a run in my scarf."
"Same here and I feel a little weirded about the male Undine, expected them to be all female and fanservice-y since classic era. Oh and by the way, I'm welsh here only to study, not a local."
"Aren't Viruses a BAD thing? Wait, are we in the Matrix and it has gone even worse than in the Movie?"
"No, i'm fine for now, seems like. Thanks for the conce-"
"Hey! What the hell's a cyber virus!? What the hell were those scorpions!? Who even are you people!?"
Mina winced a bit. They were taking the attack really well - and heck, they had survived for a long time. I'd say they have pretty strong spirit...especially that one, She thought, with an eye on Eli.
"Hey now! Put 'em down tiger, we're the good guys," She said with a smile and a wink to Eli, adopting a power pose with her arms on her hips. "My name is Master Martin. And that over there,"
"-blasted, no good woman putting these candy bars in here - " Derrick muttered, throwing half-eaten candy-bars out of his bag, oblivious to the conversation going on.
"...that is Master Dempsey. We're Duel Masters!" She smiled, as if that and her answer were all that was needed to explain things.
"Um... I think cyber viruses might have something to do with human experimentation. Wait... Those scorpion things weren't failed experiments were they?"
"Are ye daft, woman?" Derrick cut in, finally looking up from his bag. "Cyber-Viruses are a Creature, just like the kind ye ran from just now. And apparently-" He wheeled and looked Mina dead in the eyes. "-somebody decided to take out my jar of 'em to replace them with half-eaten candybars. Care ta explain that one, Mina?"
"He~ey now! No first names, remember?" Mina said, wincing and desperate to change the subject. "B-besides, littering is a petty crime! And I am no petty criminal!" She huffed, once again addressing the group.
"Seems like there's been a change in plans. What you've just experienced is what we call a "Breach of the Veil". It's awful detailed stuff, but what it comes down to is that those monsters came here to eat you, and we sent them away. That's our job,"
At this, Derrick nods. Then, he makes a small motion, and a gate opens behind Hydrus, who floats into it before it winks closed.
"We fight these Creatures to protect humans from them. Unfortunately, we also are sworn to secrecy. You can imagine what the world governments would do if they knew that powerful monsters were appearing here. It could start a World War!"
"Anyway," Derrick cut in, getting a bit impatient. "The point is, ye aren't Duel Masters. Ye aren't even Acolytes. Ye can't know what ye know now, or else ye might spill it to the wrong people. Cyber Viruses will take the memories of this night away from ye, and you'll never have to worry about it again."

Edwin quickly realized what was going on when their small group met up with other ones running from different directions. They had been surrounded by multiple scorpions. While for a moment he was weighing up whether to fight back at them or not when reinforcements showed up.
The scorpions were attacked, fought off and made to disappear by an Irishman, Australian woman and a water creature. With the danger gone, he was thoroughly delighted. Even though his heart was pounding, that was an experience he'd never forget. And it seemed everyone else had the same thought.
Unfortunately it seemed that their party would be over. Memory wipes was mentioned. This morning Edwin wouldn't have thought such a thing was possible, but now, these people seemed quite serious.
"Hey, hold on" he said, trying to think of something diplomatic to say. They were a secret order, yeah, and obviously they would take this form of action to protect themselves, but he didn't want to forget about this. It was his memory after all, what right did they have to mess with it?
"Yeah, we're not anywhere near as familiar with these things as you are" he said. "But... how do you know we won't make good acolytes if you just wipe our memories? I mean... why not give us a go? Increase your numbers if we work out?"
He hoped someone would back him up and keep it civil. Then he started wondering what he was getting himself into, and hoped it would be worth his memory.

"We fight these Creatures to protect humans from them. Unfortunately, we also are sworn to secrecy. You can imagine what the world governments would do if they knew that powerful monsters were appearing here. It could start a World War!"
"As in multiple countries fighting each other, or as in a world between our world and where ever those things come from?" Kate asked rather quickly, normally it would of been a no-brainer, but after being chased by giant scorpions, saved by a liquid person, Kate felt it was a logical question to ask.
"The point is, ye aren't Duel Masters. Ye aren't even Acolytes. Ye can't know what ye know now, or else ye might spill it to the wrong people. Cyber Viruses will take the memories of this night away from ye, and you'll never have to worry about it again."
Kate didn't expect Mind wipe was the function of cyber viruses. Though there must of been some cases of people getting by without being cyber virused. After all if the order was so secret, then talk of monsters would be unheard of.
"Yeah, we're not anywhere near as familiar with these things as you are" he said. "But... how do you know we won't make good acolytes if you just wipe our memories? I mean... why not give us a go? Increase your numbers if we work out?"
"Yeah I mean assuming you did wipe our minds. Wouldn't it only be a matter of time until those scorpion things came back and attacked more humans?" Kate paused trying to think of something else to help her case, cause getting her mind wiped was not on her to do list that was for sure. "Plus... this is all YOUR fault, if you had dealt with them sooner, we wouldn't be in this situation."

"Well, at least she looks at ease..."
She simply smirked and looked over, nodding to Howl. There was nothing to worry about now anyways.
"Are ye daft, woman? Cyber-Viruses are a Creature, just like the kind ye ran from just now. And apparently-"
Clearly no one here has read the book on the subject. Her lips curled deviously as she continued to sit there, calm and casual in the grass. There really wasn't any point in doing anything while the professionals could handle it. I mean... I've written books on the subject. Books -clearly- labelled fiction. Give them a break, that or pull your panties out of your b-
"-somebody decided to take out my jar of 'em to replace them with half-eaten candybars. Care ta explain that one, Mina?"
These two are definitely classic. Could be siblings or one of those antagonist pairings. And the fact it could be either is kinda creepy. What are you thinking Cyr, this isn't a story to analyze. Those creatures could have seriously done a bit of damage to these guys. She looked to their reactions, from upset, to curious, to more relaxed than perhaps they should be. The white knight guarding the damsel is a nice touch, though I don't think he realizes she's not amused.
"He~ey now! No first names, remember?"
"It's alright, you're going to brain wipe us anyways with the cyber bugs anyways right? We can just wait around until you go to Beastmart and grab a family-pack..." Cyr shrugged, her expression still one of casual amusement. She tugged up some grass filaments, held up her hand and let them slowly fall. The Raven was alright, or as her mind had come to dub Howl due to his attire, his hair, and his attitude. The Riddler, his clipboard of questions seemingly absent for the moment. She wasn't sure what to make of him as time had been short. Then there was the girl who had been talking to 'Princess'. She couldn't help but smirk softly at the title her mind came up with. After all, he had been somewhat preening himself in that mirror as she saw him walking through the park. The girl she couldn't quite figure out a witty nickname for in her mind.
"B-besides, littering is a petty crime! And I am no petty criminal!"
Though I can come up with plenty of petticoat being too tight jokes, but then my mind appears to be devolving to undergarment humor... again...
"Seems like there's been a change in plans. What you've just experienced is what we call a "Breach of the Veil". It's awful detailed stuff, but what it comes down to is that those monsters came here to eat you, and we sent them away. That's our job,"
"Eyep..." she spoke without much enthusiasm, now nipping at an acquired piece of long grass. She leaned back on her arms, folding them behind her head. The clouds were a nice diversion, even if she didn't need them. The entire event was although exciting, hardly terrifying to her. Either they would be saved, or they would die. There was no in-between when dealing with the Scorpions.
"We fight these Creatures to protect humans from them. Unfortunately, we also are sworn to secrecy. You can imagine what the world governments would do if they knew that powerful monsters were appearing here. It could start a World War!"
But like stuttering missy said, you forgot the jar right? Too bad... you'll have to let us dwell on it a while. But at least no one here looks like they'll pee themselves over it. Cyr closed her eyes, one corner of her mouth tugging wider as she adjusted the scarf covering her chest. It was a bit itchy and she could bunch it up for a better pillow than it would serve as a shirt.
"Anyway, the point is, ye aren't Duel Masters. Ye aren't even Acolytes. Ye can't know what ye know now, or else ye might spill it to the wrong people. Cyber Viruses will take the memories of this night away from ye, and you'll never have to worry about it again."
"Tell them they walked into a movie set or something... Jeez..." She laughed a little to herself, rolling onto her side to prop herself up on one hand as she drew in her legs, looking completely at home with the situation. It only seemed like she was waiting for it to conclude so she could continue with her day.
"Yeah, we're not anywhere near as familiar with these things as you are. But... how do you know we won't make good acolytes if you just wipe our memories? I mean... why not give us a go? Increase your numbers if we work out?"
The piece of grass fell from her lips then and there, her expression one of intrigue. Here it was, someone had spoken up against the inevitable plans of the two Masters. Here was someone who was thinking beyond the fear, beyond the mundane world they existed in. Someone who probably had more potential than she did for all her running away. It made her rethink her smug attitude, one hand curling over her chest as she drew herself up to sit cross-legged.
"Yeah I mean assuming you did wipe our minds. Wouldn't it only be a matter of time until those scorpion things came back and attacked more humans? Plus... this is all YOUR fault, if you had dealt with them sooner, we wouldn't be in this situation."
She resisted the urge to suddenly clap and put on fanfare for the two. Behind her 'Princess' had finished brushing himself off and was watching with the others as those two spoke up. "Seriously... Haven't seen a breach like this in years. Gettin' sloppy eh?"

In contrast to him, Richard noted the rest of the group all seemed to have different responses for the people who had saved them, either aimed at who the people were or what they had called upon to assist them with. "I guess this must be rational for them... Or perhaps i'm more out of touch with the times than I thought." the boy mused mentally as he looked between the others behind hair that obscured his eyes. Considering no one seemed as apprehensive about those 'Cyber Virus' things as he was, maybe there wasn't really anything to be worried about?
Upon being pressed for explanations, the female noted herself as 'Master Martin' while her associate was simply 'Master Dempsey'. So, they were hiding first names then? Very well... Just one bit of information he could withhold from them as well. What reason did he have to trust them? "Really... It's going to end all the same way. We're caught, we see things we shouldn't, we get our minds wiped. What good is telling them our names if we wind up forgetting this instance anyway?" he questioned, folding his arms and hanging his head slightly to return to his thoughts in the meantime.
"So, recap... I'm on my way to classes for the day, and it gets foggy... I run into this one here..." he notes, casting a glance at Kimiko for a moment, before sighing. "From there, we wandered around a bit and ran into one of those scorpion things before we were forced to run. Eventually we ran into the others, who were also being chased by similar scorpions, before these two came to rescue us... By summoning a monster or so of their own." he continued, though the angry retort of one of their saviours revealed that they were more properly referred to as 'Creatures' and not simply monsters... And whatever these Cyber Viruses were, they were the same.
"None of this is getting to the heart of the matter though... What's going to happen with us?" his thoughts finally came to the all-important question still plaguing his mind. After all, they were rather talkative right now for people set on wiping their minds...
"Seems like there's been a change in plans. What you've just experienced is what we call a "Breach of the Veil". It's awful detailed stuff, but what it comes down to is that those monsters came here to eat you, and we sent them away. That's our job,"
"We fight these Creatures to protect humans from them. Unfortunately, we also are sworn to secrecy. You can imagine what the world governments would do if they knew that powerful monsters were appearing here. It could start a World War!"
"So there's a name for that, huh? Hm... Well, at the least i'm thankful for being spared being one of their meals... Even if I didn't think they were really monsters to begin with." he shrugged, before stretching. "So there's actually a group of people who go around actually fighting them... Heh, sounds like some crazy fairy tale if you ask me. But considering I saw them with my own two eyes, i've got no excuses to deny their existence now... It does sound like some grandiose plan our world would come up with. Arm up to fight off a monster invasion... Or worse, try to get them to be obedient to us." he mused, tilting his head back. What sort-of creature would he have...?
"Anyway, the point is, ye aren't Duel Masters. Ye aren't even Acolytes. Ye can't know what ye know now, or else ye might spill it to the wrong people. Cyber Viruses will take the memories of this night away from ye, and you'll never have to worry about it again."
"Yeah, we're not anywhere near as familiar with these things as you are. But... how do you know we won't make good acolytes if you just wipe our memories? I mean... why not give us a go? Increase your numbers if we work out?"
One of their group had spoken up for them... Or rather, spoke up for themselves while the rest of the group assumed it also meant them. Sighing, he looked towards Master Dempsey and tilted his head. "We've seen these creatures, and considering we aren't freaking out as much as the average person... Those two have a point if you ask me. We all could have a shot at being able to join and bolster your forces... And if we don't make the cut, feel free to fry our minds." he spoke as calmly and bluntly as he could. He wasn't fond of the idea of letting his memories get wiped, but it seemed like an issue they wouldn't budge on.
"Seriously... Haven't seen a breach like this in years. Gettin' sloppy eh?"
"Hmm... I've never seen one myself... Or even remember one, so I can't say how sloppy they've been... Though if those creatures were the reason for the latest news reports, then maybe..." he trailed off, trying to contemplate this. "... How many of you are actually doing this?" he now asked, looking to Master Martin. "It can't just be you two... If you're looking out for a whole world, there has to be more."

"My name is Master Martin. And that over there,"
"...that is Master Dempsey. We're Duel Masters!"
"Are you striking a power ranger pose?" Howl questioned arching an eyebrow as he turned from nodding back at Cyr to look at the woman who had spoken right now, in truth had the her announced she belonged to the Saban's Sentai Force the welsh student would have took it better. Now it seemed all a little bit too silly, he was going to die by the pincers of some not really friendly creature and had been saved by someone striking poses and announcing they had a silly sounding name. True he was grateful for having been saved, but couldn't they pick a better name? Sacred Order of the Inner Circle Guardians or somewhat? Something to made one proud of announcing it.
"Um... I think cyber viruses might have something to do with human experimentation. Wait... Those scorpion things weren't failed experiments were they?"
"Are ye daft, woman? Cyber-Viruses are a Creature, just like the kind ye ran from just now. And apparently- -somebody decided to take out my jar of 'em to replace them with half-eaten candybars. Care ta explain that one, Mina?"
"Oh, like in Magic: the Gathering?" Howl let slip out almost inconsciously. He was a player of the game and appreciated the lore, once again it was something that helped him to adjust within the surreal situation he found himself involved with. "I think I'm starting to get the gist of it..." He said to himself, things started to make sense now, the weird name, them using creatures as well and the strange ritual of unsummoning they used. Still planeswalkers sounded better than the name they choose for themselves. "Half eaten candybars uh?" The young welsh couldn't help being mused at that. "Lack of affections I guess?"
"He~ey now! No first names, remember?"
"It's alright, you're going to brain wipe us anyways with the cyber bugs anyways right? We can just wait around until you go to Beastmart and grab a family-pack..."
"Mina is a nice sounding name..." Howl once more let the words slip out from his mouth, while thinking about the reasons behind his own one and wondered if her parents where Bram Stoker's fans. He sighed and shrugged, he got the name of a sort-of badass Wizard anyway, one that would cross dimensions to spend a weekend in a pub to make his love interest jealous. "...but it's not I really like to get the Flashy Thing treatment..." He stopped for a second, looking first to Cyr then to the two Masters. "...even less if it's a Wormy Thing one." Assuming these worms were to work on his brain, there were a few disturbing options about how they were to reach it. "And these things don't give brain cancer right?" He stopped for a second. "Right?"
"We fight these Creatures to protect humans from them. Unfortunately, we also are sworn to secrecy. You can imagine what the world governments would do if they knew that powerful monsters were appearing here. It could start a World War!"
Or a troll one on the internets once people discovers you picked up such a silly name... Howell sighed out, looking at them first and Cyr right after. The woman seemed sorta accustomed with what was going to happen, if this was going to be MtG's world he sorta felt her into mono green playing. Raw nature's power and total rejection of technology given the previous experience with her smartass phone. That Master Dumbsey was the typical Blue Jerk and the Mina woman a white player. With the others he hadn't really interacted too much so he could get a clear idea beside the other girls present being pretty and hopefully legit, you never know, fiction was filled with love born on the field of struggles and if not love, at least a decent date.
Too bad about the memory wipe though...
Jeez..."
"Until another giant beast will charge at me trying to kill me?" Howl sighed out, looking at the two masters. It was clear he was no happy about them messing with his memory and he was a little surprised about Cyr's reactions as well. It seemed that the woman was accustomed to these things happening or, at least, having more knowledge than anyone else around. "Used to this I guess?" He said before turning back to the two masters and the ones speaking with them. "Sorry but I'll pass about that Wormy Thing on my memories..." He said quietly, like with the work he wasn't planning to do down without at least putting up a little fight. "...if these things can come back, I dont want them to surprise me again like this and next time I'll pay them back for forcing me to run away today..." He didn't voiced it, but the young man was planning to get himself a sword. One could call it adhrenaline rushing to his head or somewhat.
"Yeah, we're not anywhere near as familiar with these things as you are. But... how do you know we won't make good acolytes if you just wipe our memories? I mean... why not give us a go? Increase your numbers if we work out?"
"Yeah I mean assuming you did wipe our minds. Wouldn't it only be a matter of time until those scorpion things came back and attacked more humans? Plus... this is all YOUR fault, if you had dealt with them sooner, we wouldn't be in this situation."

"I seriously hate to be the voice of reason, but can I remember you all that you're asking to enter a secret society that could end with you dead at the hands of the very monsters that were trying to kill us today while knowing nothing beside we protect the world?" He shrugged, looking first to his companion of misventure and then to the two Masters. "No offense meant and I truly thank you for the save, but you said you're Duel Masters, not Guardians. If names are worth anything in this world, duels are expected to be something entirely unrelated to protection..." He looked to the ones that proposed their enlisting. "Wont say that getting the power to protect ourselves and knowing more is a bad thing, but before offering to join, one should learn the bargain's details."
"Seriously... Haven't seen a breach like this in years. Gettin' sloppy eh?"
"So you ARE in the business, aren't you?" Howl said looking back to Cyr. "And you even made me sound like a dangerous molester or a con artist..." He shrugged before turning back to the Masters. "And you know?" The young man took a little pause to work his thoughts together. "I guess that if it had happened somewhere else, people wouldn't have cared too much about it, but right in Hyde Park?" He sighed, thinking again to Stevenson. "Secrecy ended up having panic levels rise anyway, so not a really smart move..."

Mina had hoped the civilians would be understanding, or at least more willing to cooperate, when she realized they didn't have the cyber viruses to wipe their memories. It's not like we can summon some, she had thought, They'd take those memories back to the creature world, to who-knows-what happens to them afterwards.
She hadn't expected them to be so eager to cooperate.
"So there's a name for that, huh? Hm... Well, at the least i'm thankful for being spared being one of their meals... Even if I didn't think they were really monsters to begin with. So there's actually a group of people who go around actually fighting them... Heh, sounds like some crazy fairy tale if you ask me. But considering I saw them with my own two eyes, i've got no excuses to deny their existence now... It does sound like some grandiose plan our world would come up with. Arm up to fight off a monster invasion... Or worse, try to get them to be obedient to us."
"Until another giant beast will charge at me trying to kill me? Used to this I guess? Sorry but I'll pass about that Wormy Thing on my memories...if these things can come back, I dont want them to surprise me again like this and next time I'll pay them back for forcing me to run away today..."
"Hey, hold on" a young, blonde man said.
"Yeah, we're not anywhere near as familiar with these things as you are, but... how do you know we won't make good acolytes if you just wipe our memories? I mean... why not give us a go? Increase your numbers if we work out?"
A young redheaded girl then chimed in, saying,
"Yeah I mean assuming you did wipe our minds. Wouldn't it only be a matter of time until those scorpion things came back and attacked more humans? Plus... this is all YOUR fault, if you had dealt with them sooner, we wouldn't be in this situation."
This last comment caused Derrick's eye to twitch. He looked ready to respond, but then more of the civilians spoke up.
"It's alright, you're going to brain wipe us anyways with the cyber bugs anyways right? We can just wait around until you go to Beastmart and grab a family-pack..."
"Seriously... Haven't seen a breach like this in years. Gettin' sloppy eh?"
That drew both Master's attention. Derrick spoke first.
"Whatdya talkin' about, lass? Ye sound like ye know about what just happened," He glanced at Mina, who was looking Cyr up and down.
"Hmm... I've never seen one myself... Or even remember one, so I can't say how sloppy they've been... Though if those creatures were the reason for the latest news reports, then maybe... How many of you are actually doing this?" he now asked, looking to Master Martin. "It can't just be you two... If you're looking out for a whole world, there has to be more."
"We've seen these creatures, and considering we aren't freaking out as much as the average person... Those two have a point if you ask me. We all could have a shot at being able to join and bolster your forces... And if we don't make the cut, feel free to fry our minds.

"OK! Everyone, I've made my decision!" Mina said, with a deadpan serious face. Derrick looked between her and the group they had saved.
The silence that followed was broken by the rumbling of Mina's stomache, audible to all nearby. Her face reddening, Mina placed both hands over her noisy gut. After another moment, she continued.
"You are correct- there are more of us, but not nearly as many as there used to be. If you'd really like to try out our martial art - the life of Kaijudo - then I'll accept you!"
"WHAT!?" Derrick was shocked, his mouth hanging open. "Mina, are ye-"
"Hush no, Master Dempsey," She said, deftly cutting him off. "We shouldn't force people away who want to help us. Why not let Master Tong make the final call?"
This seemed to satisfy Derrick, who just nodded. To the group, Mina then said,
"Well, then please follow. We have to go now, so I'm sorry if it's an inconvenience. Also, sorry in advance for the accommodations," She added the last part in a half-whisper, so that Derrick didn't hear.
The reason for the apology was soon apparent. The Masters had driven to the park in a rather old, beaten-up van filled with debris.
"It's Mina's," was all Derrick would say, getting into the passenger side seat. After you had moved the pizza boxes, crushed soda cans, and other junkfood wrappers out of the way you all get into the van. A short drive later, and you find yourselves in front of a small, unassuming martial arts studio.
The building was a one-story unit, with neon lights spelling out "Martial Arts", the 'i' was dark. Mina led the way into the building, pushing the door to a welcoming jingle of a bell.
Inside, the building revealed itself to be a well-kept martial arts dojo, with two large rooms with mats, mirrors, and the usual accoutrement. A Black Britishman was sitting at the front desk, wearing a nice red and orange sweatervest ensemble with khakis.
"Ah, Master Martin! How are you today?" he asked Mina as she entered, with a smile.
"Oh, Laurence! I have some...new students...to see...Masters Tong and Roscoe."
There was a moment of silence after Mina's incredibly awkward statement, before Derrick perked up.
"We've got some newbies to Kaijudo. Let us into the dojo, if'n ye please."
"Sure thing!" Laurence said, standing up. "Right this way, please," He says to you, before leading you to a back room. Pulling out a long, brass key from his pocket he unlocks the door. There is a satisfying 'thunk' as the key turned. The doorway opens into a dark, dry tunnel leading straight down. You are led down the steps, and soon find yourself in a cavern deep beneath the earth.
It is...wondrous. In addition to the electric lighting set into the roof of this cavern, there are strange spheres of light floating through the air. All the people you encounter are wearing some kind of glove on one hand. They wave, smile, or rush past you but none have the time to sit and talk with you.
You pass by a room that seems to be full of bookshelves, but instead of books are a series of strange tablets. You pass a room that radiates heat, with the sound of metal clanging off metal coming from the other side.
Eventually, you are brought into a wide room, with a much larger sphere in the center. This sphere rotates, with what look like computer screens placed all along it's sphere. Standing at the sphere is a woman in white who looks remarkably like Master Dempsey, her eyes glued on the screens. sitting in a chair at the center of the room was a wizened chinese man, clearly advanced in age, wearing a red robe. At his side stood a middle-aged woman, clothed in green.
"Greetings, visitors," The woman in green spoke. "My name is Master Roscoe. Welcome to the London Temple."

Eli listened with a bit of shock as they mentioned what a 'cyber virus' was. A memory wipe, if he hadn't just finished running for his life from giant scorpions, he'd have never believed it. Luckily he wasn't the only one ready to protest, and to add to it, the man had apparently misplaced the strange creatures, letting him breath a sign of relief for the moment.
"You are correct- there are more of us, but not nearly as many as there used to be. If you'd really like to try out our martial art - the life of Kaijudo - then I'll accept you!"
As they argued amongst themselves, Eli pondered what was going on. Their martial art? The woman had performed a sort of kata before to dispel the scorpions, maybe they were refering to a kind of magic. A ridiculous notion under normal circumstances, but again recent events made almost anything possible.
"Well, then please follow. We have to go now, so I'm sorry if it's an inconvenience. Also, sorry in advance for the accommodations,"
Normally, following complete strangers wasn't something he'd make a habit of, but not only was he unwilling to stay in this park, he was fairly sure these people wouldn't let him just walk off no strings attached.
There was something else too, something that pushed him to follow them. Curiosity maybe? The promise of answers. Or maybe just the fact that he had nothing to lose.
The group was lead out of the park, the trip made significantly easier since the fog from before had begun to clear. Eli wondered if it had been a product of the creatures rather than a natural occurance. They managed to crame themselves into a van filled with various boxes and trash. A short drive later, and they stood in front of a small, unassuming martial arts studio.
It was a familiar building to Eli, he'd actually visited it on a few occasions, although he'd ultimatly chosen the gym closer to his house. It was a sureal feeling, to know he'd stood in what apparently was a home base to monster slaying magicians. As they entered, a Black Britishman was sitting at the front desk, wearing a nice red and orange sweatervest ensemble with khakis.
"Ah, Master Martin! How are you today?" he asked Mina as she entered, with a smile.
"Oh, Laurence! I have some...new students...to see...Masters Tong and Roscoe."

"We've got some newbies to Kaijudo. Let us into the dojo, if'n ye please."
"Sure thing!" Laurence said, standing up. "Right this way, please,"
The britishman lead them back, passing the front area of the dojo and heading into a back room. He retrieved a key from his person, unlocking a heavy door and leading the group down.
It was here where the facade of the martial arts school faded. The door lead to a huge cavern, with dozens of strange golden spheres hovering about. He could see a few people there too, either reading off the library of tablets on the wall or inspecting one of the many spheres. Each seemed to be wearing a glove on the hand, just like the 'Masters' who'd brought them here
Eventually, the group entered a wide room, with a much larger sphere in the center. This sphere rotates, with what look like computer screens placed all along it's sphere. Unwilling to stay silent any longer, Eli took a step forward. "Elias...Elias Manning. Now if you're done with introductions I think we've already spent enough time beating around the bush. We're here to see whether or not we can learn this Kaijuda stuff right? So let's get started, how does it work?"
