[16:15 - Inside Styx Base]

It was dark out by the time it came, the distress call having been blinking on the receiver in the guardhouse for at least ten minutes while it's denizens played poker in abject boredom. Commander Wolff sighed as he walked in, seeing his crew regard him with salutes, though he was sure some of them viewed him with about as much interest as a stack of yard tools at the hardware store, it didn't matter. The lupine Reploid went to check the call and discovered what had been missed. Normally responsible and prompt he grunted and left without saying a word, making his displeasure known.
It was ten minutes later the base's contingent had been gathered together by none other than the chief medical officer and self appointed 'inventionist' Gene Replete. There was no sign of Wolff as she gave their new assignment in a giddy tone. She was excited which was usually a bad sign for those involved as it almost always meant that without the strict guidance of Wolff, it was guinea pig time for the new recruits, and a chance to gather combat data.
"We've received a call from Eichel Engineering and it appears they're in dire straights. They need assistance now... or twenty minutes ago technically. I think perhaps whoever turned down the sound for the comm should not try this in the future!" She spoke loudly while holding up her tablet, a wide smile on her face. It was exciting despite the nature of the situation. It wasn't often they had an actual opportunity for real combat and she'd been itching to try out the recorders she'd given all of the new recruits, along with a personal pet project she'd given to one of the most junior enlistees.
"Anyways, we should probably go now... we are wasting time just standing here while they could very well be in grave danger so... off you go." She made a shooing motion toward the garage, coaxing everyone to get in the larger of the two transport vehicles, and also the only one up and running after it had cannibalized the other for parts. "Just cram in there, anyone else is welcome to come but..." She picked up her tablet again as she leaned against the door to the vehicle, holding it to read.
"Hailfire, Arclight, Chimera... and Azhrarn. You guys can't get out of this, sorry. But you get the fun ride today! I hope we get ambushed..." She stared wide eyed for a moment before chuckling, making it seem like a joke as she swung up into the driver's seat. But one could never tell with her.
"Anyone else that cares to join us, get in! It'll be a bumpy ride..."She sighed contently, gripping the wheel in anticipation. "Because I forgot to get the shocks done..."
And who knows the last time we actually did -anything- around here...
[16:35 - Inside Styx Transport Vehicle No.1]

The road was uneven, bumps sending up it's passengers every few meters unless they were strapped down and secure, which for any of the new recruits was entirely up to their discretion. Rebellious, eccentric, strange, or foolish dreamers, Styx had ended up with those at the end of the line, but it was damned well going to make due, and in style! Everyone who was relatively new was grabbed for this. A test run to see if basic training had paid off...
There were seats lined on either side and room for the more bulky of their number, along with some reserves of energy, and stock weaponry that they'd used in training, but with the seriousness of this task they'd all been permitted the full use of their normal weaponry.
While Gene drove along the road toward the Engineering Laboratory, singing something whimsical to herself, a smaller female reploid say with her hands placed demurely in her lap as she looked down at her feet. A long scarf down her back and her down-turned visor would have made her look 'cool' if not for the fact her posture was anything but confident. She seemed to withdraw whenever anyone looked at her, though she had an odd smile on her face.
NOTES Welcome to Rockman X: And Eternity! This is just the beginning but hopefully this mini-arc will let people settle into their characters before we get things really rolling. Remember, you've been around for probably a few weeks so you know the faces of whose with you, even if you haven't spoken much. You can have formed whatever friendships or working relationships you desire, it makes sense when you're sharing in the frontier experience! Or the boredom, or the pain of training ad nauseum for battle that never comes...
Chaos Chimera - Was it you, Hailfire and Drachen back in the guardhouse focusing on your game a bit too much there?
Hailfire: It wasn't your job to monitor the calls that day was it? Maybe you were just trying to keep the others company, shame on them.
Azhrarn - You are probably one of the newest, but you too have been working with these others. It's clear a few aren't exactly new at this, though they may be lower on the hierarchy then the other officers.
Gear: You... have a new friend. He doesn't seem like he's going to eat you or anything but you definitely have something you didn't have before the start of this mission.
Just suggestions! but really, get a dialogue going, get to know eachother and have fun, because things will blow up soon. Gene smiling, it's a sign of doom.

[17:20 Eichel Engineering: Second Floor] OST - Whisper of Relics - Rockman ZX Advent Archaeology Department/Basement Ruins Pcs: Azhrarn Npcs: Einhorn
"Yes, you should really come to see..."
"I'm working on it... but I want to find a way we can get back up just in case. It's getting weird up here... I don't know why but I swear it's getting colder..." She fumbled through some boxes, not familiar with the equipment but able to find the ropes he was looking for on a shelf that seemed rather full of them. Different sorts... Archaeologists sure have alot of rope... "Eh, we forget our history, but never forget how to kill each other dreams and hopes... They fought something big here, bigger than anything I heard or read of."
"I don't remember anything bigger than the repliforce war..."
"I wonder what was so important to justify this carnage and the people at the labs wanting to come back and search for it again..."
She managed to set the rope up over the gaping whole in the floor, tying it around a beam that seemed stable enough. If not, she'd find out eventually. He was quiet though and she waited a bit to see if he would speak up. "Azhrarn... you still there?"
"I think I found something really strange..."
"Strange as in 'hey... that's pretty neat', or strange as in 'oh my god not the face? You shouldn't have more than one of those on your body.' ?" She waited again, this time hearing some commotion in the halls. She opened her comm to Gene and got no reply, though there was no warning flashing on the device on her buster.
"Father, mother, I do wonder if someone would find me like this someday..."
The light hovered above him, it's shape a silvery suddenly coherent glow. It was small, spherical and appeared to have to eyes within, and tiny wings. They may have been a part of his armor once, but as he hovered there and listened, he only offered a soft, ethereal voice. It echoed, crackled. Distorted like an old radio signal.
-Is it over...?-
"Ein, come fast... it's soo lonely to look at the future all alone..."
"I'm coming! Just... don't let anything eat you down there." She started to scale her way down, falling the last floor after losing her grip and ending up splashing into the same pool Azhrarn had. Only then had her comm reported some sort of error. "I think someone found trouble up there... or something good? Gene scares me when she says good." She looked at the comm message, simply reporting an objective had been located before staring at the light and gasping suddenly, scooting back in the pond.
"G-ghost!"

"What's the bright idea shooting at us, we announced who we were with."
“What the hell are you..”
“A-a-android. Are you going to kill me or what?”
“Possibly, if you had something to do with that old man's death.”
“Old man? You mean Dr. Eichel?”
Gene had wandered closer to the door, not yet stepping inside as she listened in. She nodded to Chaos as he approached. It was time to do a few last checks and as she drew up her almost all-knowing tablet more readings came in, and a few were lacking.
There were no more signs of living organics anymore. If there had been, the cold permeating the sides of the building would have cancelled them out fast by now. And there were also fewer and fewer signs of enemies present. She could see a few pulling out, except for three...
“He's my creator, I dragged him here when everything hit the fan. He's still alive, I--”
“I'm afraid he's dead.”
“He.. He's alive and needs medical attention!”
“I can sense heat, and he has no body temperature. I'm sorry. Got us a lively one here! Says he's an android. I've never heard of such a thing but then again, they never did let us know what went on here, now did they?”
"I'm afraid Hailfire is more than likely correct, from what I've seen her thermal imaging abilitiess are top of the line. Honestly I've yet to meet anyone better."
Gene stepped in, sighing with a wide, resigned smile. She clutched her doomsday tablet and waiting a moment to make an announcement to the three gathered.
"I'm Chaos Chimera, how about you? What's your name?"
"Gene Replete, we're from Styx, we got your distress call... here, let me look him over, I'm a trained medical professional." Gene tried to appear as innocuous as possible, approaching Zweiton with care as to not spook him. She subtly gestured to the other two. "I'm sorry for your loss, but can you help us?" Some way to distract him perhaps. When all of their exits became frozen it would be necessary to know all their options, and only someone familiar with the labs would be able to tell where they could find retreat. The words flickered across her tablet.
[WARNING] GEAR ARCLIGHT HAS ENGAGED HOSTILE FORCES [WARNING]
Gene winced. This meant it wasn't just thugs from before, but something with a bit more bite. "I think we need to move somewhere away from the outer rooms everyone..."

"Oh right, you're still a thing."
"I bet that's what your mother called you..." The mutos grinned, his wicked maw sporting two long and sharpened fangs.
"Mmmm... Me can use that. Defeat enemy, get weapon, food."
"Not sure what's wrong with your comm system there but I'd say it's a dat bit crazy..." For a moment he just watched as Gear seemed to struggle with... himself?
"H-hey! Since when did you give the orders!? And stop taking control of my eyes!"
Five laser blasts in succession left Pentarius in need of a good evasive strategy, one that his body shape was perfectly attuned for. He simply curved the minimum amount necessary and watched the blasts fly past him, hitting what hopefully wasn't a structural wall and leaving black, charred... and for some reason oozing metal. Heat atrophy? Clever...
"My turn, scumbot! I dunno what you really did here, but it sounds creepy enough for me to put your metal ass in retirement where it belongs!"
"I did what I was payed for, don't you? I just don't have any hang-ups about organic life anymore." He slithered along the floor, not getting any closer but taking a set of straifing shots to where Gear had moved, the homing missiles twisting their tell-tale green tails behind them as they sought their target. Two of them were launched before the Mutos pulled off a rather clever bound and launched himself at the ceiling, squirming inside of the service pipes. He made a raspy chuckle as he blasted a hole from the inside out, sending shrapnel and a homing shot, not a missile at Gear, this time entirely formed of that green energy.
NOTES You are all on the second floor, with the exception of Azharn who has taken a detour to beneath the basement itself along with Einhorn.
Zweiton has been found, but the building is now below freezing, and many of the outside fixtures are encased in ice. It's clear someone has taken what they wanted, and now doesn't want the evidence out that they were here. And you... would be evidence.
Azhrarn - The spirit seems restless, and lonely more than anything else. You could probably take it with you, as electronic souls are more corporeal things than the elusive ones of humans.
Chaos - See who this android is, and what exactly he's doing there. Something is very very off, and you from your experience can sense when a trap is being set. It may be too late to escape now but you can definately be ready for what comes next... and where did that Gear kid go anyways?
Hailfire - The two ice bros on the roof... you can feel them there, your sense of temperature and related energy sources is second to none and you can definately tell there are two large reploids up there causing this ice. The problem is... what exactly do they want, and why was it enough to make this android kid hide?
As for Zweiton, continue suffering your horrible trauma... >_>;
Gear - This maverick is not going to go down easy. You don't even care what's going on outside, this guy is trying to piss you off on purpose, and seems to be enjoying it wholeheartedly. And now he's climbing around in the ducts. He doesn't realize that Nini never needed eyes to sense his prey...

"I'm working on it... but I want to find a way we can get back up just in case. It's getting weird up here... I don't know why but I swear it's getting colder..."
"And that's a bad thing right?" Azhrarn asked as wondered what the meaning of temperature suddenly dropping meant. To his knowledge that wasn't the climate they had to expect for the day or to be honest the ones to come. "I mean, yeah, everyone in the team shouldn't be too worried it, I guess half of Hydra would even be happy about it..." The knight reploid went silent for a bit. "...but you have a bad feeling you said. And between your bad feelings and the Doctor's desire for us to engage and destroy everything, I'd rather listen to your advices..."
"I don't remember anything bigger than the repliforce war..."
"Humans fears our powers, but I can list a lot of events of the Old History where they topped many cruelties that Maverick Reploids may have done during our kin short existance." Azhrarn replied with a quiet whisper, his voice going serious and somewhat distant. "Entire tribes killed because of greediness and humans feeling so superior to members of their own kin, sometimes tricked into accepting gifts that carried viruses of infective diseases..." He stopped for a moment. "Some others, they used the corpses of animals to poison their enemies water supplies, killing hundreds of civilians by it. Weapons that poisoned the soil itself, keeping to bring death even once the conflict was done." He went silent for another moment. "And they hated each other, wanting to prove who was better over the color of their skin or the language they spoke..."
"Sorry Ein, but Repliforce Wars have just big numbers of Reploids involved, humans had bigger numbers being systematically exterminated in the past..." The knight reploid said with a quiet tune, the one of someone who had studied such events and often wondered about them. "...mankind had already done all the cruelty Mavericks could inflict all by themselves..." Again he stopped, tried to pick up the right words. "We are similar to them, after all we are Mankind's children and we learned from what they thaught us. Pride, Greediness, Hate... All of these feelings came from them, is from them that we learned how to feel like that..." The former archeologist stopped, taking a moment to consider. "...and yet at the same time we learned about other feelings as well, feelings that allowed us to stand and protect what we believed in..." There was much more he wanted to say but he stopped. "...sorry, I may be boring you..."
"Strange as in 'hey... that's pretty neat', or strange as in 'oh my god not the face? You shouldn't have more than one of those on your body.' ?"
"Strange as in floating Glowing Orb..." Azhrarn replied with a gentle voice. "...which I know can be said about my Will'o'Wisps unit too..." He suddenly felt to admit, thinking at how close his remote bits looked to the strange thing he was seeing. "For sure I can say it doesn't looks dangerous and somewhat cute with eyes and tiny wings... I think my mother would squeal over it..." The Knight reploid couldn't help but smile at the thought of his, let's say overly cheerful creator and parent antics over certain things. Especially her not conventional sense of cuteness, the same sense that had the woman pick the name Azhrarn.
-Is it over...?-
"If you refer to the battle, yes..." Azhrarn replied out of instincts. "...the War? Wars never truly end, just sleep for a little..."
"I'm coming! Just... don't let anything eat you down there."
*SPLASH*
"I think someone found trouble up there... or something good? Gene scares me when she says good."
"The Doctor scares everyone when she finds something deserving the word good in her dictionary..." The Knight reploid said with a quiet tune. "...but I suppose that the mess upstairs wasn't the work of just these thugs, hopefully they will be able to deal with it, but maybe we should go helping them once figured out what this is..." Azhrarn kept speaking quietly, looking between the orb and the girlbot. "...any hint? It seems able to talk..."
"G-ghost!"
Well, she apparently had a very clear one...
"Come on Ein, were children of Science..." Azhrarn said giving the orb a quick look, feeling sadness and loneliness emanating from it. His words to the female reploid sounded a little silly in his mind, as he was named after a certain Lord of Darkness from a certain series of books who little had to do with science and ruled over some sort of underworld. Again, his mother would be fangirling at the thought that the Knight Reploid was now meeting a Ghost, a genuine one apparently, not the fruit of written fiction. For a second he turned his eyes on the digital spirit. "Sorry, she does that a lot..." He explained, before politely bowing his head to the orb and walking toward the pond.
"It's no dangerous at all, he even asked a question and did NOT tried to eat me..." The knight reploid said, extending one hand for the horned one to take and sending one of his Will'o'Wisps bits to float near to her, his own way to silently offer support and give her some courage. "...even if it's a Ghost, which may be a little rude to point out if he didn't noticed it yet..." These words had been sent through their communicators' channel, so to prevent the Ghost from hearing the, maybe shocking, revelations. "...way better than anything the Doctor would do..." He stopped, turned to look at the ghost and then back at Ein, still keeping his right hand toward her.
"Come..." Azhrarn said once more. "...he had been alone all this time and we're the first ones of his kind he had encountered after so long..."

"What's the bright idea shooting at us, we announced who we were with."
“You try hearing anything when the only thing going through your mind is that this might be your last stand.” Zweiton retorted, though he did feel pretty bad about shooting at his saviors. He shouldn’t take his anger out on others, he was taught better than that.
"I'm Chaos Chimera, how about you? What's your name?"
“And I’m Hailfire Hydra!” The lavender mutos chimed in. Deciding that Zweiton wasn’t about to run off anytime soon she let go of his shirt. He frowned at the new wrinkles and attempted to smooth them out.
“Zweiton.” He simply replied. He wasn't one for fancy introductions, apparently.
"Gene Replete, we're from Styx, we got your distress call... here, let me look him over, I'm a trained medical professional." Hailfire got the hint and began to walk off.
Zweiton rubbed at the hand that had been previously holding a weapon, no thanks to Hailfire. It smarted quite a bit but it didn’t seem too serious. Nonetheless he held it out. “Could you make sure she didn’t break anything?” He made a motion with his head towards Hailfire.
“That was practically a lovetap!” Hailfire groaned loudly. She was still close enough to hear, though still walking away. Her voice got quieter as the distance increased. “You’re lucky I didn’t know you weren’t human, it could have been worse. I mean, I might have taken your arm off instead. Besides, you were shooting at me! I had to disarm you somehow.” Hailfire ended her rant with a huff, walking back into the room to fetch her spear.
"And I’m pretty sure that if I was human it would have shattered my hand.." He muttered.
"I'm sorry for your loss, but can you help us?"
“I’ll try to help in any way I can, but.. what took you so long?” He sounded more tired than upset—though he understandably was upset—whatever adrenaline rush he had facing Hailfire quickly wearing off now that the perceived danger had passed. Looking around, Zweiton noticed the blood splattered on the walls and white-coated bodies strewn in the hallway. He could recognize most of them, there was even the guy who had just started last week among the quickly freezing dead.
A wave of dizziness washed over him and he hastily excused himself. Zweiton placed a hand against the wall and pinched the bridge of his nose with the other; for a young creation like himself—for anyone, really—it was too much to take in. He felt sick. He didn’t think he could feel sick. Why would anyone do this? They weren’t hurting anyone that he was aware of and there was no reason he could find to explain so much violence. Zweiton wondered if he was really lucky to escape their fate or unfortunate enough to not be joining them.
It was now that Hailfire walked out of the room, spear leaning on one shoulder and something else clutched in her other hand. She casually tossed it at Zweiton, who caught it with a little less grace than if he’d known beforehand that something was going to get thrown at him. He quickly realized what it was; the plasma pistol he’d snatched from a security guard’s body earlier.
“Safety’s on, you seemed to know how to use it and an extra gun is better than an extra liability. However, looking into some armor for you wouldn’t be a bad idea if we had more time.”
Zweiton got the hint and decided he better apologize. “Sorry about uh.. shooting you in the head. One of them.” At that Hailfire shrugged as if it wasn’t a big deal. After all, it was fixable. “But what do you mean, ‘if we had more time’?” He asked.
“If you hadn’t already noticed the temperature dropping, someone is freezing this building solid and it sure ain’t me.” The weather outside meant whatever was causing this had to be outside as well. Hailfire paused, thinking, and looked up to the ceiling. Cold air sunk, so… the roof? The walls were too thick and hindered her ability to sense heat through them. The sensor’s range was very limited, but at the very least the temperature was accurate and she didn’t like what it was telling her. They needed to get out, and soon.
She looked back down at the group. “Now, unless someone’s rigged up with an experimental refrigeration unit, better than anything you can get on the market right now, this kind of rapid cooling is too much for just one reploid. I’m willing to bet that whoever they are, they’re not working alone. We need to move before we’re all sent to an early, icy grave.”

"I bet that's what your mother called you..."
At this, Gear could only shake his head. "You know, that might actually sting more if I could remember my mother. Fortunately for you, I can't." he shrugged passively for a moment, before grinning. "Unfortunately for you, I don't like you anyway, so I have no problem telling you to go slither into a spike pit... Or better yet, let me throw you in one." he added, more than happy to help this reploid in such an endeavor.
"Not sure what's wrong with your comm system there but I'd say it's a tad bit crazy..."
"Listen buddy, if you knew the half of what I have to put up with, and you had any shred of decency in you... Which I highly doubt, you might actually feel a little bit sorry for me." he added flatly. The last thing he needed was this guy bumping in on his conversation and being a general nuisance... More than he already was.
"I did what I was payed for, don't you? I just don't have any hang-ups about organic life anymore."
"Pfft, hah! If I actually got paid, I probably wouldn't even be here right now! I'm just a guinea pig who got suckered by a promise. So sucks to be you, your scale-metaled tail is about to get kicked by someone who didn't even want to be here in the first place!" he shouted, as he saw the incoming weapons. Grabacr was pulled back, charging the weapon up for a moment until energy coursed through the shield, before he swung an overhead slam with the weapon, destroying the first with the resulting energy strike, before dashing under the second. He looked up just in time to catch the Mutos slinking away into a ceiling duct, but not before firing another projectile at him. "What, again? You're annoying me!" he growled, preparing another charged attack.
"Bad move... Food should block."
"Wha-" he started to say, releasing the attack to try and destroy the projectile... Which instead washed against the energy and continued on until it smacked into him, damaging his frame and throwing him back slightly. "Kh! What the... An energy attack? Ugh, so he can fire both..." he groaned, looking down at his sizzling chest armor. The armor was resilient and prevented alot of burn damage, but in return, he could almost feel like it was his own chest that was feeling the burn... Just how bonded was he to the armor...?

Chaos listened to the android who called himself Zweiton, Trying his best to ignore the bickering that had started over the issue with Zweiton's hand. After a brief time to get to know each other Hailfire had tossed a gun to the android. "Is it really a good idea to trust some random stranger with a weapon?"
That's when Hailfire said that it was better to have an extra gun than an extra liablity. While Chaos didn't exactly trust this new individual the Mutos Reploid had a point. As thy started to leave the room Hailfire noted the dropping temperature. Why hadn't Chaos noticed it before he was supposed to be all about observation. Had goat gone to sleep on him?
"The temperature in the surrounding area has dropped significantly in the past 5 minutes." Goat piped up out of nowhere.
"Wait.. where did Gear and the other's go?" Chaos questioned noticing that Hailfire, Gene and himself only made up half of their group. Thinking about the fact that they had been split up, and the strange cold "I'm not the only one thinking that Gear is probably in trouble, am I?"

[17:20 Eichel Engineering: Second Floor] OST - Whisper of Relics - Rockman ZX Advent Archaeology Department/Basement Ruins Pcs: Azhrarn Npcs: Einhorn
"Come on Ein, were children of Science..."
The orb simply floated in place, shimmering for a moment with an unknown display of emotion. Ein gripped her buster and pointed it down, making sure she wasn't inadvertently causing the... ghost? to take it as a threat. The last things she wanted was for anyone to come out of the mission possessed. It was a terrifying yet real occurrence for their kind when stray souls lingered too long.
"Sorry, she does that a lot..."
-It's alright... I've just been here, waiting for someone...- It sounded distracted, casting it's light back toward the direction of heaps of bodies. Somewhere in there was it's own but it had long since forgotten.
"It's no dangerous at all, he even asked a question and did NOT tried to eat me..."
It seemed unaffected by the presence of the wisp, still floating there, descending a bit to cast it's light across the surface of the pond. Somehow it grew smaller and the faint image of a long past soldier knelt there, his head bowed in solemnity.
"...even if it's a Ghost, which may be a little rude to point out if he didn't noticed it yet..."
"I don't think it's listening right now... It's really rather morose isn't it." She looked over to Azhrarn, expecting him to see as well that the light was... praying?
"...way better than anything the Doctor would do..."
"Wanna take it with us? I mean... It's probably a horribly crazy idea but if it's just going to mope around here for another decade it doesn't exactly seem fair." She pulled something off her back and brought forth an empty energy cannister. She wasn't the most tactful but it would due for holding pure energy, so why not the detached and wandering soul of a dead soldier.
"Come..."
She approached with him hesitantly.
"...he had been alone all this time and we're the first ones of his kind he had encountered after so long..."
-You aren't from my time are you. I can tell, I'm not clueless. Everything is turning to dust. I just...- He flickered a bit, it was a silver light that seemed almost completely void of any coloration, even hints.
"You wanna get in the jar? We can probably get you back to base so you can..." Ein stopped, knowing what Gene might do, though it probably wasn't that bad. A second lease on life.
-I wanted to make sure I didn't betray them. That I waited as long as I could. But now I don't know where to go...-
Ein held up the jar, wagging it back and forth as she gave an awkward smile.
-My entire purpose was to guard the line. I don't think I can pass on until I truly fulfill my purpose...-

"Is it really a good idea to trust some random stranger with a weapon?"
“Safety’s on, you seemed to know how to use it and an extra gun is better than an extra liability. However, looking into some armor for you wouldn’t be a bad idea if we had more time.”
Gene pondered, her fingers curling in the long pale hair that spilled over her shoulders. Had Zweiton ever used a weapon before? He looked unfit for combat to say the slightest. Just... an overgrown mechanical child.
“Sorry about uh.. shooting you in the head. One of them.”
"We have plenty more 'running' around the base." Gene added without looking up. Only the two senior hunters would know what she was talking about, while Zweiton would enjoy the discovery later, possibly... if they managed to escape.
“But what do you mean, ‘if we had more time’?”
“If you hadn’t already noticed the temperature dropping, someone is freezing this building solid and it sure ain’t me.”
"The temperature in the surrounding area has dropped significantly in the past 5 minutes."
"Wait.. where did Gear and the other's go?"
Gene skewed her lips and motioned to her two fellow hunters, gathering them for a moment. It wouldn't exactly due to spook the untrained android with the gun now.
"I'm not the only one thinking that Gear is probably in trouble, am I?"
"I don't want to alarm either of you, but Azhrarn hasn't reported back with Ein yet, Gear appears to have encoutered some resistance... And Hickory and Dickory haven't reported back from when I sent them to the roof." She paused, glancing back to Zweiton before letting out a soft sigh.
"I think we know our only way out may be up now, but we need everyone together. One of us needs to keep an eye on the kid, one of us needs to go get our lost greenhorns out of the basement, and someone needs to go make sure Nini is alright." She blinked, then quickly added. "And Gear."

"Pfft, hah! If I actually got paid, I probably wouldn't even be here right now! I'm just a guinea pig who got suckered by a promise. So sucks to be you, your scale-metaled tail is about to get kicked by someone who didn't even want to be here in the first place!"
"Oh... an attitude problem. Sounds like you need a vacation from your not job, little rat." He chimed, sounding more delighted with the situation than he should have.
"What, again? You're annoying me!"
"Bad move... Food should block."
"You should listen to your shoulder devil there."
"Wha-"
As the energy trail impacted he grinned wide with his reptilian mouth, fangs hanging over his lower jaw. It was so easy upsetting this prey...
"Kh! What the... An energy attack? Ugh, so he can fire both..."
"Awww... that smells pretty bad..." Slipstream cackled as he moved further along the ceiling only to have his eyes widen in a double-take. If it were physically possible he would have hung in the air as he eyed the floor clearly present beneath him, the intake grate having snapped from under his weight. It made his body bow and he landed haphazardly on the floor beneath him, thankfully caught be a table that snapped in half.
It took him a moment to get up and in his struggle he aimed his weapon for Gear, launching four consecutive shots, one missile between three trailing energy shots. It was clear he had landed wrong as he found a side panel shooting sparks along his back. With a hiss he recklessly followed after the blasts, charging Gear head on, his maw wide as some sort of energy gathered within. "Brood of Vipers!"
It started to dart out, multiple trails of brilliant green light from it's maw, weaving around a central channel of white vibrance.
NOTES Time to get everyone together again and make your way to the roof! But as for who does what, I'll let you decide or just suggest things in advance. The stairway up is now saturated in ice, blocks of it forming walls toward the upper door. Someone will need to get rid of those in order for the rest to get up top. Gear is still engaging trash in one of the storage rooms, and Azhrarn has found a friendly ghost.
But time is running out as even mechanical life can only tolerate so much cold, especially when mixed with condensation.
Azhrarn - The spirit seems restless, and lonely more than anything else. You could probably take it with you, as electronic souls are more corporeal things than the elusive ones of humans.
Chaos - Gear may need your help after what he's gone through, though you could also use your hammers to start helping everyone work their way to the roof. Either choice works as Gene will pick up the slack.
Hailfire - The two ice bros on the roof... you can feel them there, your sense of temperature and related energy sources is second to none and you can definately tell there are two large reploids up there causing this ice. The problem is... what exactly do they want, and why was it enough to make this android kid hide? As for Zweiton, you're now ready to defend your life, but these new allies seem a bit... you don't really want to say irregular. But yeah...
Gear - Do or die time... he's coming straight for you now...

-It's alright... I've just been here, waiting for someone...-
"It has been a long wait I suppose..." Azhrarn replied with a soft voice, his expression a little worried about the glowing orb in front of him. It was hard to not think to that light as a projection of his future, especially since when he had left the peaceful life of the archeologist to join the ranks of the Hunters. Sure his parents, and especially his mother, told him he could do it. That he was strong, that he could put said strenght to help others. But even as he had proved it in the previous encounters with the thugs, Azhrarn still feared that his life was risking to become shorter since he joined forces with Gene's people.
"I don't think it's listening right now... It's really rather morose isn't it."
"Can blame him for being like that?" Azhrarn replied giving a quick look to Ein. "I mean, he has been like this for how many years? Enough for our people to build a whole new comples above the ruins of this battlefield without anyone noticing." The reploid moved his hand as he wanted to show Ein the state of decay the battlefield had been in. "How much time would take to change a building like this? Years, decades." He said through his experience on the field. "How would you feel after waiting for so much time, unable to leave, unable to move forward, just waiting." His voice went low, distant and infinitely sad. For reasons maybe only him could understand. "He's the last one of them, I think he's doing this to keep their memory alive..." The Reploid whispered back to Ein, referring to the praying Ghost.
-You aren't from my time are you. I can tell, I'm not clueless. Everything is turning to dust. I just...-
"Yes, we aren't..." Azhrarn said facing the Ghost once more, looking straight where into his eyes. "...and yet you may have noticed we are still similar." Both of them were wearing knight-type armors after all. Even with the passing of time, there were Reploid built with some sense of Chivalry coming from them. And they weren't soldiers, they were Knights, Reploids who would put their strenght in use to defend ideals, both good or evil, rather than fighting battles. "Also, forgive my rudeness, I'm Azhrarn, she is Einhorn." He said bowing his head a little as he introduced himself and his companion. "May I ask for your name?"
"You wanna get in the jar? We can probably get you back to base so you can..."
-I wanted to make sure I didn't betray them. That I waited as long as I could. But now I don't know where to go...-
"You did everything you could..." Azhrarn said with a serious voice. To say the truth he was a little skeptic over placing a ghost into a jar, but at the same time Ein seemed confident. And to be truly fair he misunderstood most of what Ein was hinting, as he believed the Ghost could be allowed to get a new body back at the base, a new, modern one. But hard to blame him, he was an archeologist and a bit of jewel crafter, not a scientist. "...I believe that they are proud of your determination and that they're looking over you even now..." He was being sincere, wherever dead Reploids' souls went, Azhrarn was sure his friends were looking over the Knight. Or rather he wanted to believe that such devotion and faith weren't going unnoticed. He gave another look to Ein, giving her a smile to help her relax.
-My entire purpose was to guard the line. I don't think I can pass on until I truly fulfill my purpose...-
"Then come with us..." Azhrarn said almost with a whisper. "...and find yourself a bigger purpose that includes your first one." The reploid voice was serious and yet gentle. "We protect this whole area from whoever would bring harm to it and its denizen. Think about it, protecting the area you'd protect the line inside it..." He stopped, taking a brief pause to consider about something else. "...and if some of your friends would be still around, even after all this time, we can look for them..." It was amusing to see how the same Knight-Reploid that had dispatched so many thugs outside, without really breaking a sweat, could actually be so naive about which fate waited for the Ghost. And yet, he extended his hand to the soul, just like he had done with Ein first, with the same genuinely sincere expression.
"Come with us, you dont need to be alone anymore..."

"Awww... that smells pretty bad..."
"I don't need your opinions, junkheap!" Gear shouted, raising Grabacr and Ofnir before firing a series of buster shots up toward the ceiling. Sooner or later, the maverick would show himself and then he could rid himself of the damned thing once and for all. However, Slipstream dropped a moment later even without his help, with left a relatively menacing and amused grin on Gear's face. "It must be Christmas... A present dropped out of nowhere for me. Time to..." he remarked, charging both Grabacr and Ofnir. "Open it up."
Slipstream was quick to attack, firing one missile flanked by three energy shots, but this time Gear knew better. He couldn't stop the energy shots, but the solid projectile was no trouble. Firing Grabacr, the quarter of energy streams flew out and ripped through the missile, continuing to try and hit the maverick who had unfortunately evaded out of the way. With the other attacks in mind, he waited a moment before dashing between them, relying more in Nid's quick reaction to assist him. "Any other tricks before I retire you?"
"Brood of Vipers!"
"E-EX Attack!? When did I hit A rank!?" Gear suddenly stopped, watching Slipstream open his maw and fire a rather bright, spiraling stream of curving green energy blasts surrounding a stronger white one. It was a horizontal strike, but he was positive he wouldn't have been able to dash through or around it without getting hit. "Crap, crap, crap... What do I do...!?" he growled, before he felt his body moving on its own, turning away. "H-hey Nid! You trying to get me killed!?"
"Me save food's life. Food not use full capability of armor."
In moments, Gear's body made a leap for the wall, digging his hand against it and slowing his descent before he hopped up again, putting enough distance vertically between him and the the blast for it to pass harmlessly beneath. With Slipstream's advancing, he waited a moment before he performed a dash jump through the air, moving behind Slipstream toward where he saw the sparking panel from his side... With a charge still left in Ofnir, he descended upon the weakpoint and deployed the claws from Ofnir, slashing downward.
"A winner is food!"
"You mean i'm the winner, Nid!" Gear momentarily broke his train of thought to correct his companion as he sent the energy-charged claws raking downward at Slipstream. All he could hear in his head was a taunting 'Me know what me said.' before Nid fell silent, leaving Gear to exhale a sigh as he hoped the attack did something to the maverick.

Posting on behalf of Bio who Zetaboards hates personally right now
"Is it really a good idea to trust some random stranger with a weapon?" “Maybe not, but I stand by what I said. And besides, he’s as squishy as you can get without actually being human! Either one of us could tear through him like tissue paper if he tried something funny.” Zweiton let out a loud, exasperated sigh. Of all the Hunters there had to be out there, he just had to get stuck with being rescued by the oddballs. Sure he was unarmored and was practically surrounded by ‘bots that could snap him like a twig, but he didn’t appreciate the dig at all. His internal systems gave him a warning of the temperature; they could heat up only so much before they risked frying something, and too much more of this cold would freeze his joints solid. Even his clothes were starting to freeze due to the blood on them, and it made moving slightly more of a challenge. “Aside from earlier, have you actually used a gun before?” Hailfire asked, interrupting his thoughts. The cold didn’t bother her for the moment, having been created to work in sub-zero conditions in the coldest places on the planet, but even she had her limits. Of course, she’d likely far outlast them all before succumbing if she couldn’t find a way out. “Well.. not really. I know how the safety works, that’s all.” Zweiton replied, and had a crash course in personal bubble invasion by Hailfire as she placed one hand on his shoulder and crouched down next to him. Those huge claws close to his neck once again made him nervous, but where he was expecting sharp talons they were instead incredibly dull; safety scissors looked sharper than them. Maybe that’s why his shirt was simply wrinkled instead of torn earlier. “Alrighty then!” Hailfire started, snapping his attention to her, “I’ve got three rules for you; keep that thing pointed in a safe direction at all times, only point at something if you mean to shoot it, and be aware of what’s behind your target. Get it?” He nodded. “Got it.” The rules made sense, at least. “Good!” Hailfire stood back up and turned to face Gene, listening to her report on the others. “I’ll go fetch the greenhorns, they’ll be easy enough to haul back up here.” Zweiton looked at Gene. “Is she always like that?” She made her way to where Azhrarn and Einhorn were last seen. Spotting the hole she jumped into it feet first, flaring out her wings once she cleared the upper floors and lazily spiraling down to the ground below. Hailfire let out a short, loud whistle, hoping to get their attention. The massive opening below was amazing, and she let out another whistle in wonder—‘warzone’ was a great word to describe this hidden place. The ice head swiveled around, mostly looking for any signs of danger, but it too seemed curious about these strange surroundings. The fire head meanwhile was tragically stuck in one position until it was able to be repaired back at Styx. She touched down in what was once a puddle of water, though now it was a solid block of ice. “Field trip’s over kids, we need to get out of this building.” Hailfire stated, before noticing the glowing orb. Oooh, shiny thing!

Chaos considered going to help Gear out, but at the same time he had the new armor which seemed pretty capable of picking up the slack. Plus if he was in a serious fight with a damaged arm getting into battle would probably be a bad idea.
"I'm gonna work on clearing our way to the roof." Looking at Zweiton he decided to issue an option. "Zweiton youcan come with me a I clear the way to the exit, or you can stay here with Gene, your choice."
Without waiting or a response he started to make his way up, letting Goat have the lead so as to easily break through ice that had started to form in the staircase. He had to do whatever he could to bust through. Sure Hydra would be more suited or the job but she had gone down to get the greenhorns so why not start on their way out.
"Why are we doing this kid?" Goat asked in his usual grumpy manner.
"Because if we waited for Hydra it just means letting the ice progress further which means it would take us longer to get to the roof." He had given up on sounding sane, he was literally arguing with himself and didn't care if Zweiton or Gene heard. If they hadn't realized that he had eyes on his back- as well as a mouth, then it was their fault for not being observant enough.
