1000 Facts about The Elder Scrolls

The idea of this thread is to post 1 fact per posts thus giving us 1000 posts with 1000 facts. The facts have to have something to do with the Elder Scrolls series, so no facts about dogs, fish etc...

Also, you can't post in this thread twice in a row, meaning you have to wait for someone else to post before you can post again. In some cases it is fine to post again e.g. The thread hasn't been updated in a week and you were the last to update it.

By all means, if you have a question about a fact, ask in here! Just be sure to include a fact in the same post as your question.

I shall start!

1) Daggerfall takes place in 3E 417, 18 years after the events of the first game.

Terrance Stamp also played the role of Ramsley in The Haunted Mansion ;)

8) Originally, every city in Oblivion was going to have an Arena, the reason that there's only one now is that during development, there was a struggle to get everything onto the disc, so the other arenas were cut out (including 100's of lines of dialogue).

17) The Greenmead Cave in Oblivion is home to the only massive mudcrab in Cyrodiil.

*Sadly it has the same fight in it as a regular mudcrab. Still worth the adventure to get there.

23) The original concept of TES: Arena was literally meant to be a gladiator style arena combat simulator. As they added the ability to travel from arena to arena and do side quests, the team quickly realized that the side quests were more fun than the arena battles. With competing games like Ultima and having already printed the boxes, they kept "Arena" in the title despite cutting that entire code out of the final product. They completely changed the direction of the product and made it in to the RPG empire that it is today.
