Do you think that mead just tastes like ale?

I have a friend who brews her own stuff like this. She could argue circles around the various recipes and such, but in the end I always called it beer-wine swill lol.

She hates me for it and no longer shares her mead with me. Its sorta "wine-ish" is the best way to describe it. Lots of floaty chunks of fruit and such.

Pimms o'clock? Or maybe it tastes like cider?

Mead is just fermented honey and water. Simple stuff. Very sweet, with a very interesting taste since it is from honey. And depending on the flowers that are used to make the honey, it can have all kinds of different tastes. I get it at the renfests when I go.

I've found a site that sells it in the UK, pretty pricey postage cost though :(

You could probably find a bottle or two in any decent liquor store.
