I'm inept at introductions, so: hello all, just a Midwesterner looking forward to some literary conversation and recommendations. This seems like a nice forum.

Interests? Well, Don DeLillo for one, Mr. Hounds ;) . But, also American Poetry, the work of Emil Cioran, Anne Carson, and Geoffrey Hill, mostly modern/contemporary stuff. I'm currently studying Comparative Religions, so any religious literature will probably be able to hold my attention. And I'm from the gentle backwater known as Ohio.

Anyone know how to multi-quote?

Jeffry: your mention of Geoffrey Hill already suggests that you'll like it here. Welcome! Oh, and what's your take on Underworld? It's one of the more divisive books 'round these parts.
Glad to hear it. Underworld is actually one of a few DeLillo novels I haven't tackled yet. I'm currently finishing up Mao II and then I think I'll be spending the rest of the summer wrestling with the aforementioned mammoth.
