I bought it too and my copy came today and I think it will be most fascinating reading O that Alice B (replacing all the "mays" with cans perhaps because of GS's earlier lover, May B., about whom she didn't tell Alice. . . )! |

Was dipping into the Vintage "Selected Writings" book, which finally arrived yesterday... the book is headed by two super-enthused introductions which have convinced me to read Alice B Toklas immediately (of which this volume contains in its entirety). |

today, a mind.numbingly stupid review of this book and another intriguing reissue. Who on earth thought this person should review the breathtaking wonderfulness that are stanzas in meditation? fucker. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/29/books/review/reconsidering-the-genius-of-gertrude-stein.html?pagewanted=all Here is the other book under review, which I can barely stop myself from ordering

A little gloss on Stanzas in Meditation and the bizarre history of Alice editing it, but it's been restored now: http://bigother.com/2012/02/16/gertrude-stein-strikes-again/ |
