interesting... this week also in Germany a radio play version came out, 22 hours long. That one has two drawbacks of course: it costs an incredible amount of money and it is in German:

You know that I am quite fond of audiobooks. I have always been curious about audio versions of Ulysses. There is also an unabridged one in English with Jim Norton and Marcella Riordan:

Been listening to this - obviously a lot of hefty cuts but well done - and the actors are really good.

It makes Ulysses far more accessible. I don't usually like audiobooks as I find the voices change my idea of the characters but this is not the case with this BBC version of Ulysses. And the Irish accents are not Oirish but just right...
