Currently reading the bloodlines series by Richelle mead. Best described as young adult fiction but as an (old but feeling young) adult I am guite enjoying it. It's about this girl who has been brought up all her life to take on her father's work as an alchemist. Along with thier strick views and beliefs about good and evil. the alchemists main role is to protect humans from a race of vampires called the moroi (good vamps) and strigoi (bad vamps) even though they believe both types of vamps are evil. anyways long story short. Sydney (the main charactor) falls in love with a moroi vampire, starts questioning her organisation's beliefs and thier credibility all while coming to terms that she is a natural witch. it is actually really good lol if any of you have read the vampire academy series (or seen the movie) this is a sequel of that. Oh, I also have just finished reading shattered by 'sunny' from the wwf, not a bad read but she does come across as a bit conceited and you do have to question just how much of what she was saying was true... I cracked up laughing when I read her take on the Montreal screw job. First she claims that it happened because shawn was jealous of her friendship with Bret. Then she claims that the whole story of Bret hitting vince backstage was a setup, just because she was outside the office when it happened and she didn't hear any fighting. it's hilarious, she must have written this book before Bret or shawn did thier autobiographies because both they talk about it and thier separate versions match up. Her version seems to come from some other planet. a good read if you don't take it seriously :crazyperson |

I've been reading a book for about 2 years called A Patriot's History of the United States. It's really good, but I can only do so much of it at once and then I have to put it down for a while. I'm finally up to where Slick Willie is getting ready to be elected president. (Bill Clinton for those of you outside the US.) That's means I only have George W Bush to go...the book was written before Obama, thankfully for me. Outside of that, I'm making a concerted effort to read my Bible through this year. And I've also started reading the Cedar Cove series by Debbie MacComber. there's a TV series based on the book that is on the Hallmark channel here in the US. |
