IRC and TeamSpeak.

IRC is a text based program which allows you to talk to other members of the clan and the community and it is also used to notify you of current and future events.

You will need a registered IRC nickname in order for you to maintain IRC status and so that we can identify who you are.

TeamSpeak is an audio based program which is mainly used for communication during trips.

Teamspeak is required for you to participate in TLP events and you should be listening to Teamspeak during events.

TLPs Teamspeak is public so feel free to go in and chat with friends or introduce yourself into the TLP community.

IRC and Teamspeak are vital for communication between members and ranks and also allow you to integrate with the community during your stay with us.

You are required to have both an IRC client and Teamspeak 3 before you can progress to the applicant stage.

So, lets get started;

IRC

The Last Pures IRC channel is: #TLP
Our channel is on the SwiftIRC network: irc.swiftirc.net (This is the default network for SwiftKit)

IRC Clients:

Forum based IRC
SwiftKit for Windows Recommended
SwiftKit for Mac
mIRC
Colloquy For Mac

We recommend you use SwiftKit as its interface includes both a window to play RuneScape in and a built-in IRC client.

After downloading, installing and running SwiftKit you will be presented with the choice of creating a profile (This can be password protected) and after this, the SwiftKit news screen.

To access the IRC Client click Show Internal Utilities and then the yellow IRC symbol

The steps to registering a nickname and connecting to The Last Pures IRC Channel:

- Enter your desired nickname (Your RSN is preferred) in the Nickname field and #TLP in the Channel field, then click Connect.

- After connecting you can register your nickname using the follwing command:

/ns register password password email email

you need to include the password and the email twice

ensure you include the / at the start else you will publicly broadcast the information you typed for the command

Now go to your inbox of the email you used to register and look for an email from SwiftIRC Services (It may be in your junk folder).

The text highlighted red is the Nickname you will be registering, the text highlighted blue is a confirmation code which you need to enter on IRC (Simply copy it from the email, don't forget the /)

After you have confirmed your registration disconnect off IRC and click the Set-up-auto-identify, type in the password you previously wrote twice here.

You can now reconnect and will be registered and identified.

- When using SwiftKit a filter will be enabled, this blocks out websites and swearwords, you can disable it by either

typing /mode Yournicknamehere -f (Temporary)

or going to Options - IRC - and unchecking the Enable message filtering option (Permanent)

It's important to be in #tlp so you can get to know your clanmates better and be reminded of upcoming events. Having your nick registered is important because you could miss important messages if you are devoiced and we're spamming for voiced+ only, not to mention you'll need to have a registered nick if you achieve half op/op.
