Reposted from Mayhem Makers. Not meant for the majority of you that are big posters here. Mostly directed towards the forum guests and those who are more interested in grasping another man's opinion, rather than building e-reputation or attempting to solidify yourself in an already pathetic group.

This is not a debate to convert beliefs, or argue beliefs. This is a rant about how Christians treat Atheists. Those posting off topic will be reported. Why? Because lets see if the theists can keep their cool for just one thread.

I'm bored out of my mind, so I'll start a little debate rant. Read entire post before commenting or responding.

What is this bullshit that has so many people convinced? The ONLY reason any of you believe in the shear concept of "Christianity" is because of your parents. Had you grown up in India, you'd be a Muslim right now, and according to your own religious standards, you'd end up in Hell.

The United States of America AKA one nation under God? What the fuck? Why am I being pressured into religion by my family when there isn't a SINGLE OUNCE of proof, evidence, or even reason to believe such an idea.

Christianity tells us to believe the entire Earth and all of it's creatures were created in simply six days. Oceanography, microbiology, geophysics, and fossil records PROVE otherwise.

Christianity tells us the Earth is only a few thousand years old. Carbon-dating and biochemistry PROVES that the Earth is a little over 4.6 billion years old. Just a little off there aren't ya God?

Christianity tells us to believe in prayer. First off before I get flamed by uneducated theists who know nothing about their OWN religion, here are two excerpts taken straight from the Bible, where JESUS clearly tells us that he will give us anything we ask for through prayer.

Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

John 14:12
I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Okay, so it's pretty clear that Jesus will surely be willing to answer our prayers. So let's pray for God to heal our amputees. Ah, see what I did right there? I just took away the variable of "coincidence", and placed the full control in God's hands. If God exists, and he is perfect as he himself states, then he should magically regenerate the amputees leg. But it won't happen. Why? Because God is fake, a very clever money-making delusion that you fell for.

Why do I care? Why do I rant? Maybe because being an atheist, I'm a little angry.

I'm angry that according to national polls, only 45% of Americans would vote for an Atheist president. I'm angry that atheist soldiers -- in the U.S. armed forces -- have had prayer ceremonies pressured on them and atheist meetings broken up by Christian superior officers, in direct violation of the First Amendment.

I'm angry that President George Bush Senior said: "No, I don't know that atheists should be regarded as citizens, nor should they be regarded as patriotic. This is one nation under God."

I'm angry that it took until 1961 for atheists to be guaranteed the right to serve on juries, testify in court, or hold public office in every state in the country.

I'm angry about what happened to Galileo. Still. And I'm angry that it took the Catholic Church until 1992 to apologize for it.

I could go on forever, but for lack of your short attention span and the fact that this post will generate a lot of negative feedback from narrow-minded Christians who use this board, I'll let it go for now. Please provide intelligent responses.

I knew that you wouldn't change, but I bit my tongue and swore,
Resigned myself to carry on despite you.
But you would not match my stride and cried,
"Foul! Foul! How could you expect me to care about somebody else?"
And after all, who would expect anything else from you?

I thought this would seriously disproove God, but it seems to just be you venting your thoughts. You believe what you believe, I'll believe what I want.

I pay da fool!

To your little comment about god growing out amputated legs.
Im really active in my youth group/church and have been on 4 missions trips.
Now I've never seen anything to those aspects but I have seen people get
There injuries healed on the spot when many people prayed over them.
Seriously, it blew my mind to.
My friend that had asthma got prayed over at church one night, runs track
No problem.
And everyone is Entitled to there own opinion but your rants are out of context.
Like where you reference the verse if you pray you will have it it will be yours.
That doesn't meen if you pray for a corvet your going to get one.
it meens if you pray for it, work for it, and believe it will eventually or Immediately
Come to you.
Of course being a Christian I believe there is a god, and I also
Respect everyones opinion.
But ... Christianity is FAR FROM a money making scheme.
Thats my debate.
If I lose So be it :)
Your beliefs are yours mine are mine.

i'm a christian first off lemme state that.

no i dont think that religeon should be something that's shoved down the throats of the american public, but the fact is, most of the people on earth find life empty without something to beleive in. religeon is that something that they choose. you will never be able to change that, you take away religeon, they'll find a single person/thing and follow him just like a religeon.

i do beleive that chritianity is correct., and i'd like to see other people do the same. i will not force this upon you, however,i find the statement "if god can do anything i'll pray for a amputee's leg to grow back" is completely lacking faith. you cant jut pray fo random acts of sheer amazment and expect them to come true, in order for any prayer that you pray to come true yo must pray with a heart that's willing to beleive that it's possible.

i encourage you to read the bible all the way through, but if you dont i will understand. God is a very difficult thing to understand (i'm not saying that christians are smarter than anyone else because that's often incorrect) and NO human fully undersands him. but completely rejecting something that you dont understand is a bit closed minded dont you think?
