You guys celebrate the British taking you over? Appled, it's nothing like the 4th of July...kind of the opposite.

This.

But going to the beach and havin some barbecue sounds nice.
Someone invite me.
Remember, Remember, the fifth of November,
The gunpowder treason and plot.
I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.

Better than you, ~Boner

... There were no white people on Australia before we arrived and i believe a lot of indigenous people don't partake in the celebrations. So not really

Personally I have holiday homework to do..

holiday homework for someone in year 10? wow, lol.... that's pretty bad

and i'm just going on a barbeque boat with friends, getting drunk then probs going to the beach and playing beach cricket.... will try to get home asap to watch australia fuck up against rsa again

Well year 11 this year which means all subjects are VCE now which = shit load of homework. Supposed to be 5 hours of homework per subject but some teachers have given me like 10 hours for a subject.

Australia was a dominion of England for its criminals and eventually just became its own country. The natives/maoris did not revolt (at least succeed in any rebellions).

but ye, july 4th celebrates independence and australia day celebrates it's foundings.

it's similar in the fact that the concept of each day is the same - being happy to be australian/american and thankful for all that you have

lol.... does the victorian system take into account your year 11 results as well as your year 12 ones? that's pretty harsh if it does

i did fuck all in year 11 and handed in a few assessment tasks a day late (30% penalty) when we were expected to do 3hrs of homework every day. i didn't care because it didn't count towards my hsc

did barely anything this year either... started studying a bit harder before my major exams and my homo bio teacher was basically telling me all year that i am going to fail and i ended up getting results that beat most people at my school, lol

Maoris? Their aboriginals in Australia...Maoris are in NZ.

And I played 2 hours of tennis today in the mid day heat :( was fun but bloody humid. Good celebrating the best country in the world.

Was the funniest shit today, on one of nzs sport channels, they had a australian day marathon, and it had all the sporting chokes that aussie have done, like greg norman, losing all the majors and nz owning aussie in cricket, rugby, league was awesome

yeah well you have to have decent sports people in your country that have high enough expectations placed upon them so that when they fail it's considered choking..... can't really say the same about nz
