((So! I've decided to take a preemptive strike at starting the rp'ing section, seeing as many people seem to be taking and interest in starting small, we should have a single thread where all the characters can be. For those who don't know how to create a character, below this will be a skeleton guideline for making a simple character. However, feel free to add and expand as you see fit.)) The skeleton guide for creating a character: Name: Gender: Age: Physical Description: Personality: History: Abilities: ((Some other things you may want to think about when making your character. Is he/she a good guy or a bad guy? A soldier, or a speaker of the arts? A slaver, or is he something like Duane?)) |

Name: Jason Thuren Age: 21 Gender: Male Description: Jason Thuren is a tall, slim man. Normally, one wouldn't think a person of his stature, being 6'3'' and slim, would be capable of even handling a blade efficently. He usually can be seen wearing a red trench coat and custom made boots. Beneath his opened trench coat is a black shirt and black pants that are held up by a leather belt that doubles as a holster for his sword. Jason has a palish complexion, and his hair is a deep brown color. His eyes are a peircing blue that seem to see more then normal, and to some, it feels as if those eyes are peircing right into their souls. A jagged scar runs down his right arm, and a scar across his right cheek seems to line up with the one on his arm. Personality: Jason has a very, querky personality. Most of the time, when he is around people he would consider friends, he is a nice person. For most who meet him, he is a strange man who acts in strange ways. Sometimes he can be seen muttering to himself, as if speaking with voices in his head. He is also known to speak in riddles or in a way that makes no sense, and some would even say that he is completely mad or insane. History: Jason was taught how to sword fight when he was a little child. As Jason grew older, he ventured out on minor adventures, learning various tales and stories of the world he lived in. Besides the dedicated training of his swordsmanship, Jason lived an underwhelming and unknown life. Until he turned 18. When he turned 18, he ventured out into the world to discover something for himself. He would free lance to earn money or food in order to keep himself alive, and his training would pay off. He was a natural at hunting bounties, or wild beasts. Soon many would know his name, and some even would call him 'Jason the Hunter.' He resented that title, since it was rather unoriginal. Then, a year or so ago, Jason had to capture a high risk bounty. This bounty had been a woman who was revered for her talented swordsmanship that flowed with her adept ability of pyromancy. This mark took Jason weeks to find, and when he did, he found himself to be completely overwhelmed by the woman. He had managed to stand his own for the first few minutes of the fight, but soon the woman's blade dance, for it could only be described as an elegent dance of blades and death, had overwhelmed Jason. The woman delt Jason a nearly fatal blow, slicing across Jason's right cheek and arm with her blade. Yet she didn't kill him. Instead, she tended to the wound she gave her, and after burning the wounds shut, she offered to teach him what she knew. Jason accepted, and spent the next four months learning this art of a dancing blade. And then she was gone. She had left Jason after the agreed time of training, and now Jason was out searching for her. As the world around him envelops into darkness and chaos, he will do what he must to find The Blade Dancer. Abilities: Jason fights with the flow of a battle, and by doing so, he moves and shifts himself to accomidate for his opponents fighting style. Normally, Jason starts a fight in a neutral stance, where his attacks tend to be wild and unfocused. He tends to block more then attack in this stance, and this neutral stance evolves into various other stances depending on the information he acquires from his opponents fighting style. Weapons: Rin; A short, one handed sword with markings etched into the sides of the blade. Steel toed boot blades: By clicking his heels together, hidden blades on his boots slide out, causing his kicks to become more dangerous then before. |

Name: Miles Morris Gender: male Age: 22 Physical Description: Short and thin, Miles gets lost easily in a crowd - usually between two tall people. His brand of thin is rather gangly and has pointy-looking joints. Some might say that his elbows are weapons of immeasurable damage. He's fairly average looking, with long, thin features that make him look vaguely like a bird of prey. His emotion usually comes as brief flashes, and his face is generally quite blank, though his eyebrows are clearly quite used to being furrowed. His hair is straight, black, and chin-length, coming to suitably sharp points at the bottom of the front. He wears spectacles, and pretends to be quite useless without them, even though his vision barely calls for them. He has a strong preference for all black, including his tunic, cloak, and boots. He also likes boot polish, and usually won't set out for the day without shining his boots until they reflect like a mirror or very, very still pond. Personality: Miles doesn't really like anyone or anything except dinner. His sense of humour took a leave of absence in his childhood and failed to return in a timely fashion, and his interests - as already mentioned - are limited to eating and polishing his boots. He values honour and respect highly, though has little sense of either. History: Miles has had an overwhelmingly average life. Coming from a wealthy family of merchants, he learned the art of Pymary in school, and would have graduated at the top of his class if not for his inability to lift anything besides spell tomes. His chronic poor grades in activity-based classes left him somewhere in the middle of his grade, and after graduation, he simply fell off the map. He's been doing odd jobs like forecasting weather for farmers, performing at childrens' birthdays, and dyeing yarn for weavers ever since. He generally works for meals, having little use of money, except to buy more meals. Abilities: He claims that once he turned a dog a very slightly darker shade of grey without speaking the spell, but that could have just been the light changing. He has a strong knowledge of functional spells, but is very inflexible in battle. He can't really move around, due to the size of his compendium of knowledge, so he needs a strong defender keeping the enemies at bay. Weapons: A truly, awe-inspiringly enormous book of spells, hand written in spidery script, and a long, smooth stick used for walking up hills and whacking insolent beings. Name: "Squid" Gender: Male Age: 19 Physical Description: Not quite a giant at 5'11", "Squid" as the Sharteshane dockworkers have aptly referred to him as, is a young wiry man with short, messy, dark brown hair. Known for someone that is capable of taking a beating, his body has hardened from a life of working the docks since he was a small boy. Dense and capable looking, he often can be seen wearing a sleeveless tunic, workman's gloves, traditional sailor's pants, and a long-brimmed hat. In his travels, he often wears a large travelers coat. He lost an arm to a Wright during a drunken brawl celebrating his eighteenth birthday. Personality: He's proud , arrogant and easily goaded into a fight. He fights regardless of how well he sizes up to his opponent and generally has poor judgment. Adrenaline is his biggest asset, and it seems the more lopsided the match-up seems, the harder he fights back. Squid shows an intelligence much higher than what his demeanor and background seems to suggest, but his common sense tends to be lacking in most situations. History: Squid was abandoned as a young child to be discovered shortly thereafter by a group of fishermen on their way to sell their wares. He spent most of his childhood amongst these men doing odd jobs and learning the trade. By the age 12 he had been a regular spectator of the ever popular local fighting rings, it wasn't long before he himself became a contestant in these brutal bare-knuckles fights. After several unsuccessful outings, Squid began to hit his stride by age 17 where he became a marquee fighter. Earning a rather respectable sum betting on himself against even the most intimidating of opponents. Disaster struck a year later, however, when during a regular outing to the local pub Squid became involved in a rather serious bar dispute. Drunk and looking for a fight, Squid challenged the wrong man, being severely wounded when the wright as it would turn out reacted brutally. He would end up losing an arm, and soon afterwards, his career. It would take all of his money and a lot more to purchase a first-material limb, forcing him into crushing debt with rather deplorable characters. Squid, unable to pay the rates they imposed on him, was forced to skip town. Abilities: Can throw a heck of a punch, especially with his fake arm made of first-material iron. Weapons: His fists, obviously. Edited by Anonymous G, Jan 18 2012, 03:23 AM.

We need a specific setting and sort of a direction of where we should take this as well as some ground rules. |

Well, I'd say for rules just teh simple, No god-moding, no flaming, post in a post order, no excessive cursing. As for setting, we could have it be in the middle of the country that crese is protecting. Either in a town, or the outskirts of a town. |

Ulestry? Good enough. I'd imagine the best place for a bunch of wandering souls to meet up would be the local pub? I know what would be my first post will be about. Are we going to set up a goal here? I think it would be hard to think that a bunch of people would simply just start traveling together for no particular reason. As far as rules, I think a post order won't be necessary. As long as it is logical for you to respond, and you aren't double-posting or cutting people off, we'll be fine. I would like to add that everyone should be using third person in their posts. |

For the sake of simplicity, shall we just make the post order the order we posted here? That also makes it easier for people to join in. They just have to look for the profile before theirs. Also, how long of a wait should we allow before skipping someone? |

That depends on the time of day. Naturally none of us here can't sit on the computer all day. Anything more than a half-hour during peak hours should be considered skip worthy. |

Sorry for the double-post, but I'll be writing the first post of the RP right now since I offered. So you guys can sort out the order afterwards. |

What should we consider peak hours, though? I frequently RP with people on the other side of the world, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are people all over the globe on this forum, too, or will be soon.

I don't know what we would consider peek hours either, since I start college tomorrow, my schedual for being on teh computer is going to be quite wonky, and I'll have to wedge in time to actually post in a thread, granted I'll also have hour breaks where I can be at the computer. lolz So, I'd say that we set up a post order and stick with it, if someone doesn't post within two days then we skip. But, that's just my opinion. |
