2 Corinthians 6:7-10 King James Version (KJV) 7 By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, 8 By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true; 9 As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed; 10 As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. 2 Corinthians 6:7-10 English Standard Version (ESV) 7 by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; 8 through honor and dishonor, through slander and praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; 9 as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and yet not killed; 10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything. These are my thoughts, please share yours. 7 We should speak not only in a honest way but speak the truth, the gospel to the world. Paul maybe referring here in this letter to bearing up the sword of the word and using scripture because there is power in the word. 8 We should stand true to faith during times of both when we are favored and even when we are disfavored. When people are giving us credit and when people mock us, we are still to praise Him and stay true to Him. We may very well be treated as this because this world hated Christ and hates His truth so they too will hate us. 9 Whatever happens in our life let us serve and glorify the Lord. What ever stage of life we are at we should live for Him, we shouldn’t have conditions on serving Him but strive to serve Him to the best of the ability He gives us. 10 Thru this life we only have the blessings He gives us but without Him we have nothing and thru Him we have everything we should ever want. |
