Racao for Minister of Justice

Racao

Hello, there, I'm Racao. You might not know me at all. My main nation, Ceni, is the Speaker of the Union of the Social Liberal Union. I am also former Deputy Minister of Defence for that region. In the SLU, the Ministry of Defence dealt with judicial matters. I also helped contribute to the constitution, specifically the sections relating to the President, Delegate, and Parliament. I believe that I am qualified for this position because of this experience.

My policies will be the latter if elected:

  • Work on creating a constitution (just if you want to know, I am an expert on the U.S. Constitution and have written several complex ones)
  • Create laws defining crimes and illegal acts
  • Giving defendants certain legal rights
  • Speedy prosecutions, while still allowing defendants time to prepare
  • Separate the judiciary from the rest of the government

Hi Ceni! This is Erasmania, although you probably got that. I don't go on Erasmania much anymore.

When you say "certain legal rights", do you have any ideas?

Yes, I do. The two below are really the only ones that apply to NS.

  • Right to a fair trial (no secret trials, no trumped up charges, etc. )
  • Right to good counsel
  • No double jeopardy

This is a question that Azazel Crowley asked me, I think it's a good question. So I'm posting it here.

In the event of a conflict between laws, which has supremacy in your opinion.
The older, or the newer?

I believe that the older has supremacy. A new law shouldn't be passed if it goes against an old law without a repeal.

The amount of people who don't believe in implied repeal is too damn high. :D
