Hello, everyone. I'm Fiskav, and my main nation is Astracarn: http://www.nationstates.net/nation=astracarn . Now, my position right now is Minister of Immigration, but I was formerly our Secretary of State. As a result of an influx of nations joining us, the leadership decided to split up some main government positions so to allocate time more effectively. As such, the position of Secretary of State has been split into two: Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Immigration. The Minister of Foreign Affairs position will be filled at our next election. I am our current Minister of Immigration, and I am running for the chance to be re-elected by the region for a second term. In just a little over the week, when Divair, TBHG, and a number of others, including myself founded the Versutian Federation, we never anticipated that it would grow at the rate it did. However, within a matter of hours we saw a small region with only 30 people evolve into a serious contender in the NationStates world arena. Although the event of Z-Day arriving was very good timing, the Federation was prepared, thanks to our leadership involved with finding a cure. Once we had found a cure, and discovered that many other regions were facing dire situations, Divair and I decided to do something about it. Thus, a thread was made in the Zombie Emergency Centre, where we actively encouraged refugees to join the Federation and save their people, to great success. This kind of helpful, caring attitude is what I wish to continue in the Versutian Federation. From the region's beginning, I, along with many others, campaigned for the password to be removed. In hindsight, this has certainly been a fantastic decision. However, now that the zombie crisis is over, we must find new ways to expand. Thus, I hope to continue to ask for volunteers to send recruitment telegrams to new nations residing in game-created regions, such as The North Pacific. The Versutian Federation already has numerous nations who are actively recruiting, and I have created a recruitment IRC channel to effectively organise recruitment. Furthermore, I will soon be creating a new group which will serve as a welcoming committee for new nations, to ensure that every nation that joins the Federation feels at home and comfortable with their surroundings. Thank you, and I encourage you to ask any questions regarding my stance on different issues, Fiskav |

Some questions. In the event of me, or someone who also supports full employment, achieving the office of foreign minister, would you be prepared to coordinate efforts on a full employment scheme to provide either a position as a recruiter, or a position as an ambassador to a foreign region, to any person without a record who desires one of these positions? How do you intend to punish or prevent fabrication of documents in your department? (Someone claims to have sent telegrams when they have not to boost their numbers.) Will you enforce a recruitment quota, or will recruiting be voluntary? Edited by Azazel Crowley, Apr 3 2013, 08:03 AM.

Yes, I would be more than happy to cooperate on a full employment scheme to guarantee that everyone finds a suitable position, regardless of experience. Many of my recruiters have never recruited before, yet I have still taken them in. I intend to prevent fabrication by having weekly checkups on all my recruiters, where they will provide me with the list of nations (that NationStates records when the telegram is sent) that they have sent a telegram to. I do not intend to enforce a recruitment quota, since circumstances can often change, and recruitment quotas can be far too strict at times. Recruitment itself will be a voluntary position, as it is now, but anyone who feels like they want to get involved is encouraged to express their interest to me. |

Considering that the amount of people who signed up for the recruitment program is somewhat small right now, do you have any plans to increase the recruiting program so we can begin to grow faster? |

Yes. I will be speaking with our Founder to see whether a mass telegram would be sent asking for recruitment volunteers. Soon, I hope for recruitment to play a large role on the forum, too. |

So glad to see you back, Astracarn. You have my full support - we could use more population. Black Hat has been doing an admirable recruiting job, but he can't step in as MoI, so we desperately need a good one. |
