With the Immigration department up and running, I feel that it is now time to hand it over to another learned bureaucrat as I campaign for a new position: WA Delegate. As the Minister of Immigration, I've literally built the department from the ground-up to one of the most effective Ministries in the Federation, with a stable team of active recruiters who are all excellent at their jobs. During Z-Day, the time when a zombie apocalypse struck NationStates, it was I, along with a few others, who coordinated the region's effort to accept any and all refugees to the region, depicting the Versutian Federation as a safe haven among the ruins of the world. Finally, I have been a key player in establishing, maintaining, and adding new features to our wonderful region forum that is hosting this thread now.

As a result of this, with the Immigration Department in good standing, it is now time for a change for the region. So, enough of the rambling; what will I actually do for the region if I am elected?

  • Change. It's simple, yet such a wonderful thing. I love what The Black Hat Guy has been doing, but, to quote ErasmoGnome in a recent telegram:
Quote:

"Change is the spice of life."

  • I will adhere to our Constitution when conducting all necessary dealings as the delegate.

  • I have a few exciting plans regarding some NationStates-centric RP for the region (which I will discuss with the President, MoFA and MoD).

  • Regarding the World Assembly Resolutions themselves, my goal would be to wait for at least 24 hours. After this time has passed, I will vote for or against depending on what the majority have voted for at the time. Of course, if the resolutions goes completely against the Federation's viewpoint as a liberal, democratic region, I will vote with our best interests in mind. If anyone has any problems with any votes that I have made on behalf of the region, simply send me a telegram and I'd be more than happy to reconsider where to place our vote.

Wow, Astracarn, this sounds really cool! How do I vote for you?
As you're probably aware, we don't have our usual poll-style elections for WA Delegate. Instead, head over to my nation's page on NationStates and, if you're in the World Assembly, click Endorse Astracarn.

Thank you for reading, and remember, it's time for change.

Finally, a challenger appears to topple TBHG off his black throne!

Just kidding. While I totally support all that TBHG has done in the past and is doing now, for much the same reason I am leaving the position of MoD I support this change. After all, I can't argue with myself, can I?

So, I suppose you have the formal support of the Minister of Defense. I would endorse you if I still were in the WA.

(Definitely speaking in a non-judicial capacity) I agree with Erasmo's sentiments, from what I've seen TBHG has done an excellent job the past 65 days (or the 50-or-so I've been here at least) but to misquote Sir Patrick Abercrombie, "there must be change... always change; as one season or one generation follows another".

Beat that for an obscure quote.

So, I will be taking the apparently negative step of withdrawing my endorsement of TBHG. I don't usually do that, but it's not a reflection of his tenure as Delegate.

Oh, also it'd be a shame to lose TBHG from government completely, so if he ever runs for an elected position he can count on my support.

So you have the support of Jenlom (but absolutely not the Minister of Justice, obviously).

You have my vote.
Thanks, Mungo. I'll just need you to withdraw your endorsement of TBHG and endorse myself when you've got a spare moment. Thanks!

Consider this my pulling out of the race for WA Delegate. Thanks for all the support!
