BE SURE TO SLEEP MAN. SLEEP CAN CURE MOST DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, AND GENERAL UPSET-NESS. DREAMS ALSO HELP CULTIVATE YOUR BRAIN FOR MORE DREAMS AND THINKING. AMONG MANY OTHER THINGS, LACK OF SLEEP ALSO SLOWS THE PRODUCTION OF A CERTAIN TYPE OF CELL THAT HELPS FIGHT CANCER. So yeah, sleep is kind of a big deal. As big of a time waster as it is. If you don't mind my butting in on your conversation, I have issues with Roleplay, to be honest. I really enjoy writing and all, which is why I like it at all, but. I would never meet any good writers for it, and the only good ones I'd ever meet were always and incredibly self-absorbed, among other things. Everyone seems more concerned with getting someone to reply to their character than keeping the story moving. Believe it or not, not everyone wants to wait three weeks while you have a conversation with someone elses character. I've never LARP'd. It's an interesting idea, but I can't imagine anyone around here being skilled enough for it to be worth it. I'm going to stop there. There's a lot of bitching to be had by me about roleplay. I might actually have to watch past episode 1 of Ouran in English now, since you've evidently done a named character. That's really neat. I added you on steam, if you haven't noticed. There are games that need to be played now. |

I understand why roleplay would be a thorn in your side. It really is pretty tough to find a pretty compatible roleplay partner if it's one-on-one, and then the forums...Just. :\ No thanks. I've tried my hand at forum-roleplay before. They die out FAST when there's very few people who actually give a rat's ass about progress for the sake of the story line and not the sake of POSTS. LARP goes along with the same thing with me, except there's another additional problem: I suck at live-acting. I've tried, and for some reason the personality I chose to portray was not coming out right at ALL. Perhaps it's because I can actually see myself and not just my fingers flying across a keyboard. |

@Kalthramis Yeah... sleep is good... when I get it, admittedly. I've been making efforts to regulate my sleeping schedule, though...having several distractions and things I have to finish kind of hinder that process, to be honest. I generally also don't get much sleep at all, either. :C If I follow my fiance to bed (which is usually about midnight), I wake up about five or six hours later -- before his alarm goes off. I have to agree with Mindy on the whole role play issue, though. XD; I've met some of those people that, like you say, are just interested in 'chatting it up,' though, if people really wanted to do that, they should have gone to a place that's more fitted for 'slice of life' kind of role play. Personally, I have my fiance. While he's at work, he's usually on Google Docs since his work is slow, and we role play there. We both work to furthering the story and keep to how we have written our characters. Some are chatter boxes, others are silent, and some have a tendency to talk more to the ones they are friends with, and then be more reclusive towards the characters they're not too familiar with. XD So yeah... I mean, you kind of have to have a good dynamic with someone, too. I mean, for me, I can't just role play with someone I don't know. I've done that on forums, and... it's not really all that rewarding -- even with one-on-one chats, too. Some people just get mad because your character's not opening up, or your character's ignoring the blatant love interest of their character, you don't like doing what the other person had in mind; there's too many factors that people can get upset with. This is why I don't really do community RP anymore, either. There are too many 'role players' that ignore how they wanted their own character to be like, and try to force their own ideals, wants, and desires in a 'role play' with you. I mean... I RP with Grave from time to time as well -- though we've actually done nothing serious yet. XD Like I said before, the main person that I RP with when we're in the mood is my fiance. It's just easier to formulate something, plan things, and even world build with him since we have a lot of the same ideas and new ideas that we expand upon, explain to one another, work out, and then implement into what's now our own world of characters, continents, cities/towns, animals, etc. LARP'ing, on the other hand... XD It's just really weird at first. I mean, I even said I still feel weird, though after about ten minutes into it, it becomes pretty natural, and sometimes I even start to lose myself in it (which... sounds like a bad thing, actually. LOL). Though, I generally come to grips and have to substitute certain things for what I need them to be -- at least till both my fiance and I take the time to buy or make our own props. XD |

Many of those 'Roleplayers' are just using their character as an extension of their own interest. It's more so an interaction with two performers taking through puppets than letting the actual character decide their right. :< It's a sad tale. There's also the issue of the firmly established clicks/cliques/however that's spelled. They don't let just anyone "enter" the roleboard without will out of place and awkward. We need to RP, Jay. A legitimate RP and not one full of derp, because we do that a lot. Or we can take it one step further; LARP through Skype webcam. I like this idea. Let's do it. |

Yeah, I have to agree with that, Grave. For me, it becomes less fun that way when that becomes the case. I like having my character be who I wanted that character to be in the first place -- it's just hard to find other people that are willing to do the same instead of using said character as their own puppet. It gets even more aggravating when that other person gets angry or god-modes themselves because of having them take place of their character and not wanting 'themselves' get hurt or declined in the process. That instance reminds me of someone even telling me off going, "Stop RP'ing like such a jerk!" I had to shake my head in amusement before giving them a polite response of, "... Pardon? Though, how does one 'RP like a jerk' when their character is acting like how they were intended? I am not insulting your character -- my character is. Just because my character decides to do these things does not mean that these are my thoughts and opinions." Jeez... the cliques were the most annoying thing, too. Then you have a lot of them go, "gosh, that person is so annoying. They keep wanting to RP with me, but I don't want to RP with them!" -- and to be honest, the other person could have been a really awesome kind of person. I remember taking to RPing with a lot of the ignored people from the cliques that I was so fleetingly a part of, too. Yes... we must. I don't really know which ones you wanted to expand upon, though. o: I have characters for a lot of the groups that we're both a part of (lol, I say 'a lot,' that only means, like... four...). So if you want to go ahead and make plans for ER, HC, AE, or BFOI, any one of them would be fine. o: Unless you wanted to create something for Lythial -- Brenn and I have been on a binge for doing Lythial related things so that we can expand upon it. Not so sure about the Skype webcam LARP'ing process, though. XDD I mean, it sounds like fun, don't get me wrong on that one. I think I would just feel super awkward -- I still have to get used to participating in LARP with Brenn when I'm the one that instigates it. XD |

Just butting my head in for a 'mo. I wouldn't be able to LARP, I'd get too embarrassed, and I don't see the mindset of someone who would do it in public. So if someone could explain what the appeal is, I'd appeciate it. :'D I'm lucky enough to have found a really, really great RP buddy in a fandom full of tardlets and fangirls - We've been roleplaying together since January last year. :] |

Think of it as actual acting, 'cause that's essentially what it is. :o What's so appealing about acting? The answer to that would be same to yours, in my opinion. |

It's entertaining to people watching? :B Well, fair enough! As long as doesn't hurt anyone I'm fine with it. We had a couple of kids larping in full cosplay in the park I live across from, a few years back. One of them threw a honkey nut and it hit the other guy's eye, but he carried on acting when he friend was pretty much yelling.. So yeah, ow. e_e |

Yeah, to be honest, I don't condone any violence with LARPing. XD;; When Brenn and I do it, it's usually waaaay late at night, and we pretty much have the freedom to pretend virtually anything since a majority of the populous is asleep, or inside doing something (best for odd zombie apocalypse LARPing). We stick to being inside the apartment complex, too, if we go out during said night. XD; We're pretty conscientious about our surroundings, too. We want to have fun, but we don't want to disrupt others because of it. |
