Yeah me too. If my play group was full of people who were really into it and were playing it I would probably pick it up, but no one else cares about it so I'm perfectly content to spend my time and money on other things. |

Lack of OP probably has something to do with it. But there are some stores that have regular events. Just like there isn't a huge forum discussing strategy for Marvel Legendary or DC DBGs, because of the fixed nature and small set size of 2PCG, there is probably not going to be very much forum action for this. But then again, there isn't much talk about OVS anymore either. That's why for OP I think they should do new cards so there is something that drives attendance to hobby stores and also changes up the meta each month until the next big release (and each new release contains playset of all the previous months OP cards so that everyone can get access to them). |

I'm about to feel like I'm time-traveling into the past with my following statement. The thing that bothers me the most about this game is its marketing. I actually like the whole LCG distribution model but UD seems to think that this game is like Legendary. Buy a box, play with your friends, go to a $10k once a year. OP, what's that? We're giving you a $10k every year, isn't that enough? Seriously though, even with the different distribution method VS. is still a TCG. They should at least try to market it like one and give us a proper OP program. I'm not saying have a $10k every weekend and a PC every three months. I'm just saying give us something to chase after. If you don't then there's no real incentive to buy expansions for it. There's no real incentive to figure out what the meta is and build a deck to beat it. As it stands right now, the game is just spinning its wheels until January when the expansion comes out. |

Original VS has been dead for near as makes no difference 7 years now. The candle can only stay lit so long. Especially when VS2PCG did actually do some work to snuff it out. I know for me the VS relaunch announcement managed to stop my deck building dead in it's tracks in anticipation of new cards. Then VS2PCG ended up being an entirely different playing and incompatible game and I never regained my drive to fiddle around building new decks with the old cards anymore. On a local level none of us picked up VS2 really but we haven't been the same since the relaunch announcement. Additionally on a more regional scale the other playgroups on the east coast look to have mostly gone over to VS2 so any real hope of continuing to do tournaments like we had previously tried to do/done has also been stopped dead. Some of us just moved on to different games at this point, when VS2 turned out to not be what I thought it was I just went and found another card game which is not dead to spend my money and time on which I found more enjoyable. Our local group still meets up to play Original VS weekly but at this point we're all kind of just going through the motions when playing. As for your mention of getting new cards in OP that kind of goes against the principle they tried to set in making VS2PCG a living card game. They wanted to do away with the "haves" and "have nots", making "exclusive cards" that can only be obtained through a hobby league or attending a con which are anything more than foils or alternate arts is not in line with their original mission statement. Can they do it? Sure. Could they make you just mail away to get a playset of these "promotional cards"? Sure. But that then in turn kind of makes them less special for those who won them. @minivan: That's a reasonable explanation and is probably what is happening in other places. As for my OP suggestion, the point of the different cards is to keep the meta fresh and to drive attendance to hobby stores, a way to maintain interest in lieu of a lower number of cards and a longer amount of time between releases. As for the have and have nots, as I stated, that's not the case because the next release contains playsets of all the cards given out during the OP between sets. As for the "special"ness, you could always make the OP ones EAs or stamped with "Hobby League" to set them apart from the ones players will eventually get in the following set. |

That's where I landed too, and now coming here makes me sad. I'll get past it and be back, when I start building decks again knowing I have no more new cards, but maybe mine, and want a shift in the game we still have at home. Its too bad they couldn't even give us old guys a nod though, hey give me one real vs card each set, and I'd be more likely to buy it then now. I'm just really happy I didn't have someone pick me up a set of this at gencon. |

@kariggi: That's actually an interesting idea, make a few cards that are cross compatible with OVS and 2PCG. |

BTW: Has anyone done a curve analysis on the ATK/DEF stats of 2PCG vs OVS? From turn 3 on, could you just add some number to the ATK/DEF to be more in line with the OVS stats curve and enable you to use the character cards with OVS? |

I haven't really crunched the numbers on it, but just from going through all the cards several times it appears that it's not as simple as a 4 drop vs a 5 drop when figuring out stats. There seem to be far more "irregular" stat lines like 5 drop Cable at a 2/7. As far as I can tell Super Powers, Flight, Range, and number of wounds are also very important for stats. Then again there were a lot of weird lines in MOR and DOR that eventually got smoothed out. I'd say just wait for a few more sets to come out and maybe patterns will become clearer. |

If someone does figure that out, I might be pretty interested in it. I might actually be able to get some of my friends interested in some of the non-marvel/dc cards that might come out, though it should shame them not to love marvel and dc. |

I forgot where it was but someone posted an avg ATK/DEF for OVS based on drops. Offhand wasn't it something like: 1: 1/1 2: 2/2 3: 4/4 4: 7/7 5: 9/9 6: 12/12 7: 15/15 |

Wonder how to merge them with the differences in resources and power requirements. |

I'd say that's right for drops 4-7. One drops typically had 3 total points either 2/1 or 1/2. Two drops had 5 points (3/2 or 2/3). Three drops, 9 points (almost always 5/4). |
