@OMB:

Thanks, that's actually closer to what that person did, total of ATK+DEF.

For 2PCG the totals are:

1: 3-5
2: 5-6
3: 6-8
4: 9-10 (removing lows and highs from counter effects)
5: 9-10 (strange no real jump here)
6:11-13
7: 12-15

So from 4 up, the curve is really flattened. That's explains why on 5, dropping a 2 and 3 isn't that bad.

Not sure what kind of formula that's easy for everyone to remember but this is what I came up with:

1: -1 for ATK/DEF if number is higher than 1.
2: -1 for ATK/DEF if number is higher than 2.
3: +1 for ATK/DEF if number is 3 or lower.
4: +3 for ATK/DEF if number is 4 or lower.
5: +4 for ATK/DEF if number is 5 or lower, +3 if number is 6, +2 if number is 7
6: +6 for ATK/DEF (all)
7: +7 for ATK/DEF if number is 9 or lower
8: +8

Now just need to come up with rules for the location based powers. The other rule changes are minor compared to the "mana" stuff.

A lot of people are trying the new game. A few others have out right quit because they know the new game makes the best game officially dead.

Made a lot of new friends from the revival wave that happened a year or so ago though so id say it's just a niche game now :(

It seems like more people are posting over at VSHQ's boards. No one is even on Realms.

I'm still not on FB.
It's like 1% of the community size of the original Vs Forums. I didn't think this game would have a huge following or be a massive success but even I didn't think it would be this dead. I'm actually quite surprised at how lack luster the reception for the game has been.
UDE had a built in half dozen ambassadors ready to teach VS. and bring decks and get people buying new cards. But when they chose to not bring back VS and make a new incompatible game they lost that good will. Anyway, this piece of shit half VS abortion will end up on the scrap heap with Ultimate Battles, Marvel Movie Thing, Superhero Squad and the half dozen other terrible ideas birthed from the vile womb of UDE marketing.

What I don't get is why the gamebox for this is pretty bad from an advertising pov. It's just brick red with a big VS logo. Older VS players know what it is, but I thought the point of changing the game was to make it for new players. They should have art of Rocket versus Wolverine with other popular pairings on the box to really drive home the 2 player aspect and main vs main.

Pretty sure the main thing is Upper Deck really doesn't care. As far as I can tell there's still no real support for OP and there's been no word at all about the first expansion set. When is that due? December? January? Not that I care. Still haven't so much as held any of the new cards let alone played it...

I bought a set just to take a look at the cards, and it bugs the hell out of me that the artists aren't credited on the cards. I know it's all recycled art, but having no credit given feels wrong (like they're just custom cards put together). Other than that, I haven't played it against anyone.

The family has enjoyed the base set - with the Hulk (Avengers) deck taking most of the wins so far.

My favorite main character has been Green Goblin.

Looking forward to the next 2 expansions, Defenders (Marvel Knights) and A Force!

Have those two teams been confirmed? I assumed one of them would be Marvel Knights of some kind but A-Force is pretty out of left field.

That was the information on facebook that was discovered at the GTS show, those are both expansions, not sure of the different teams in each expansion.

Personally I would like the smaller expansions to stick with 2 new teams and then a couple legacy cards for existing teams.

My guess is they're left field for us, but the teams are probably really current in the marvel comic world. As evident by a complete lack of jean grey(who I understand is basically dead in the comics.. again) UD seems to be for the most part going for newer characters and teams to draw in the fans that probably have no idea about VS

Sad to see such little interest in the reboot.

For any of you who don't know, eekamouse posted an OCTGN build if you are interested in trying it out digitally (like the cool kids);

"Reboot" is a generous term.

Let's call this what it is. A new game that borrows from OVS (that was in development for years it sounds like) that Upper Deck slapped the VS name on in hope of having a readymade customer base after they fleeced people at Gencon the previous year. Even if they released new cards that were 100% compatible with the old game I'm not sure I'd buy them at this point.

I just started playing HS. It feels identical to 2pcg, except, 2pcg now feels like a combination of HS with the most identifiable things from OG VS. Outside of the things that make 2pcg feel like VS, it is for all intent and purpose, hearthstone with superheroes. Just my opinion.

Well, both VS 2PCG and HS are based on WoW TCG. That's why it feels like a HS with superheroes.

I don't know about what you mean with the most identifiable things from OVS though. There's nothing in this new game that reminds me of the OVS game but the flight and range mechanics. Other stuff is completelly superficial and feels like a last minute splash than anything else.
