With the time of year rolling rapidly around to Gencon, I was looking at the Horseman events website in the feint hope that there would be some interesting VS tournaments to attract me and the other VS players to Reading.... Alas, it is just the usual line-up of Trial of the Finest and Day of the Hero each day, with EAs as prizes and no format details. No Alter-Ego, no Random Punks, no Elite Series or even (and I know it was but a dream) a 10k or Masters Challenge. After the success of the Masters Challenge, which I understand had approx 60 players (as many as Germany), it seemed to be logical that UDE would try and maintain some momentum. But know, with WoW and Yugioh getting the prize support, I am left thinking that Gencon 07 will be far from the VS fest that the last one in Bognor was. Is there anyway those with UDE contacts could have a quiet word and see if we can get some interesting formats lined up. Doesn't have to be a money tournament, nor even a huge prize pool. But something worth winning and some interesting games to play to earn it. Anyway, just an idle thought...... |
