Since UDE stopped making new Vs. System cards lets take a look at what they left us (to work) with......

  • There were a total of 4,385 cards published.
  • DC had 1,758 cards, Marvel had 2,572 and Hellboy contained 55 cards.
  • Besides the 1 Avatar en 17 Planets from the Coming Of Galactus set, there are a total of: 167 Equipments, 331 Locations, 1,274 Plot Twists and 2,595 characters.
  • 1,932 are Common, 1,148 are Uncommon and 1,305 are Rare.
  • 120 are reprints.

Equipments:
  • 163 different (lets not say unique to avoid confusion) cards, and 4 reprints (Dual Sidearms & Jetpack in Hellboy and Nth Metal & Twin Firearms in DC Legends).
  • 38 of which are Concealed-Optional and 1 (Aerie One) is just Concealed (eventhough Medallion of Power & Mystical Sigil are for all intents and purposes also Concealed). 124 are printed as visible, and only 122 actually are (see above).
  • 49 are Unique, 1 is/has Army (Mandroid Armor), 3 are Construct, 3 are Fate Artifacts, and 7 are Infinity Gems.

Locations:
  • 313 different cards, and 18 reprints (Flying Fortress was reprinted twice).
  • 13 have the actual version Team-Up (although more crossover affiliations).
  • 29 are Non-Unique (30 if you count Mountain Stronghold twice), 4 are Worldeater, and 4 are X-Corps.
  • 1 is currently banned from play (Antarctic Research Base).

More on Plot Twists and Characters later......

I love numbers!
Me too! [grin]

Actually your article on the main-site inspired this rundown. I may not be a Math-teacher, but I love working with numbers and lists. So, gettin' on with business.....

Plot Twists:

  • 1,221 different cards, and 53 reprints.
  • Hellboy reprinted 2 Marvel cards (Nasty Suprise & Flying Kick), Marvel reprinted 1 DC card (Mobilize), and DC reprinted 2 Marvel cards (Blind Sided & Nasty Surprise). Flying Kick & Nasty Suprise were both reprinted twice.
  • 273 have an Ongoing-ability (279 if you count reprints twice).
  • 77 have the actual version Team-Up (although more crossover affiliations; 79 if you count Gang-Up & Marvel Crossover twice).
  • 19 are Construct, 3 are Epic, and 15 are Magic.
  • 3 can only be "played from hand" (The Best At What They Do / Reign of Terror & Collect Them All!), and 9 can only be "flipped from your resource row" (Inspiring Demise / Strategic Retreat / Power Struggle / Super Genius / Foiled / Ka-Boom! / Dimensional Rift / Essence of Zom & Splintering Consciousness).
  • 4 are currently banned from play (Overload / Justice League of Arkham, Team-Up / Gone But Not Forgotten & Go Down Fighting).

More on characters later...

  • 2,550 different cards, and 45 reprints.

Therefore 402 different characters can be played hidden, and 2,285 different characters can be played visible.
  • 799 have Flight (810 w/ reprints), 1,368 have Range (1,388 w/ reprints), 625 have both Flight and Range (632 w/ reprints), and 1,008 have neither (1,029 w/ reprints).
  • 115 are Army (117 w/ reprints), 19 are Non-Unique (16 of which are Kang), and 3 are Construct.
  • All characters have willpower, either their printed willpower (on the cards itself, which 121 different characters have) or 0.
  • 7 are currently banned from play (Detective Chimp, Bobo T. Chimpanzee / Dr. Light, Master of Holograms / Fiddler, Isaac Bowin / Frankie Raye <> Nova, Optimistic Youth / Nenora, Skrull Usurper / Talia, LexCorp CEO & Valeria Von Doom, Heir to Latveria).

  • "Deadgirl" & "Dead Girl" are the same character (after having had errata), "Livewire" & "Live Wire" aren't.
    Concerning Identities:
  • All characters have an identity. Only 327 characters have a 'specific/secret' <> identity (332 w/ reprints). This also means that 2,223 characters have the same identity as their name (2,263 w/ reprints).

Okay...so I was doing some math as I am currently reorganizing my entire VS collection into binders of playsets by set and by number...etc. Here is what I have. If someone could correct my mistakes or point out what is missing I would appreciate it.
Set #Cards #Sleeves needed
------------------------------------
MOR 220 25
DOR 165 19
MSM 165 19
DSM 165 19
MMK 220 25
DGL 220 25
MAV 220 25
DJL 220 25
MXM 220 25
DCR 220 25
MHG 220 25
DLS 220 25
MTU 220 25
DWF 220 25
MVL 273 31
DCL 273 31
MUN 330 37
MEV 275 31
MXS 32 4
DBM 28 4
MEX 20 3
EHB 55 7
MUL 25 3
MEQ 25 3
MAA 27 3
MCG 42 5
DCX 27 3
MFF 28 4

So my totals come out to currently: 4375...which is 10 off and I know they are Marvel cards. Thanks for the help in advance.

PS. To sleeve and binder and entire playset of versus (four to a slot) takes 503 sleeves.

I think he is talking about the nine-slot sheets that go in a binder.
