"It ain't over til it's over." ~ Yogi Berra At first glance, that little phrase seems to be a simple, cyclical phrase, which carries with it no wisdom or depth, but the more you read it, the more you come to realise the absolute truth of the statement. It simplifies that despite how bad things are at the current moment, there's still time for change to occur, and that you shouldn't give up and leave until you've given it your all, done it all, and seen it all. And that is exactly what "VS: Full Disclosure" is all about. Before I get down to the details, I would just like to say that if you haven't been following along this last week, there have been a series of "teasers" run across a handful of different blogs. Six enigmatic pictures, each displaying a short phrase and containing a Marvel comics image beneath. If you haven't seen them yet, please do a quick google search for "VS: Full Disclosure", and you'll be sure to find them. Our intention with these teasers was to draw VS fans back to the blogs and the mains sites, to let everyone know that IT AIN'T OVER! As you've now already guessed, I have been an integral part of this little campaign, starting all of the threads pointing out the teasers, and stirring up interest and speculation about them. But the truth is that my involvement goes a lot deeper than being a rabble-rousing front man. In order to explain my part in this whole thing, I'll need to take you on a little flashback.... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- September, 2008. A magical time. Barack Obama and John McCain square off in the election debate in the race for presidency. The Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland is tested and the world doesn't end as a result. And the "Summer of Love" contest created by the guys at Lost Hemisphere winds up to a satisfactory finish. Prizes are passed out, and yours truly, in an amazing display of strategy and luck, manages to win the Gamblin' Circle portion of the major VS event. My prize? A complete set of Marvel Universe, which was more than spectacular in my books. So, I contact Ben Seck at Upper Deck, and pass my mailing address to him, and wait for my goods to arrive. And I wait. And I wait. Then January rolls around, and my prizes are the furthest thing from my mind, until Upper Deck makes its dire announcement about the future of the game. Not one to ever be greedy, I decide that now is my last time to have a shot at my prize, so I message Mr. Seck again, asking about the status of my prize. He asks for my mailing address again, assuring me that he will make up for the delay in getting my cards out. One week later, FedEx drops off a parcel, and upon opening it, I find that TBS has kept his word and indeed made up for the delay. I did not receive a set of MUN, instead I received TWO sets! Of MEV! Two FOIL sets! I was more than stunned, to say the least, but that's when I noticed a small additional section of cards at the back. Mr. Seck had also decided to include two sets of MEQ with my prize! My mind was racing. Two 270-card sets of MEV, and two 24-card sets of MEQ. You heard me right. Two TWENTY-FOUR card sets of MEQ. The more astute of you out there will already know from using MWS, or participating in the Hobby Leagues, that the final MEQ card released was Blackbird (MEQ-018), but here in my very hands, I had cards numbering from 19-24. After a quick chat with Ben Seck on AIM, I was informed that I was the only non-UDE employee to lay eyes upon these cards, let alone own any of them. He also agreed that it was at my discretion as how to reveal these cards to the general public. And then the cogs in my brain started turning... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- And that brings us up to today. Six unknown cards. Six different bloggers. Six days of previews. Consider this what you will. A breath of fresh air into the Vs. community. A farewell song to a game we all loved. A final chance to feel the thrill of seeing new cards for the first time. However you see it, this week is a once in a lifetime experience for myself, the six previewers that I've chosen, and for every other player out there. So, stay tuned, from Monday to Saturday as 6 of the most well known names in Vs. fandom show you what UDE might never have revealed, had it not been for one great contest, one amazing UDE employee, one dedicated Vs. collector, and six stalwart bastions of the Vs. community. Without further ado, I link you to your first preview of VS: Full Disclosure! You won't be disappointed! http://malone.blogs.com/vs/ Ciao! Adam "Flashback81" Kirkby Oh, you want to know what I'll be doing with these one-of-a-kind cards? Well, for their efforts and participation in this endeavor, each person that I chose to preview a card will also receive that card from me, for all that they've done, for this week of previews, and for the Vs. community as a whole. The second set, I will hang on to. For now. I'm a generous soul, but I'm also a collector, so when those two aspects of my personality finish warring over these cards, then I'll have decided their final fate. I'm crazy jealous that I will never hold these cards, but I hope will we all consider them legal for MWS. I feel like they should be official UDE cannon since they were designed by them. Just my two cents! Thanks to all six bloggers for being a breath of fresh air! |

That was really cool. I look forward to the rest of the cards. I must say I am truly Jealous. If you plan on getting rid of any of these throw them on E-bay & let us fight over all the ones you want to sell. Just let us know before hand. If you don't mind I would love to be first in line for any warring for these cards. Joe |

Under these conditions I agree. These should be legal just because they should have been official. To tell you the truth I am a bit surprised that Ude didn't release a bunch of this stuff for the point store or for kits. Is there a logical reason for that? |

Nice Carlos. Way to incite the masses. Although, the spculation before the revealing was pretty fun, even got a few correct guesses. I'd like to see what people think the other cards will be named and/or what effects they might have. Expeially the mystery woman... |

I've created a PDF of the six cards that will be available once all have been revealed. I think Flashback has something else up his sleave as well. |

Adam is THE MAN. This is a thrill unlike any other, and I feel so privileged to have been a part of it. Especially since Thursday's card has an insane connection to the Barn Door Challenge and the Flashback puzzles! Very, very, very good times.
