Do you guys know how many posts were made over at the realms yesterday? 4 General discussion (3 main 1 local event) 4 rules of combat 1 Strat/tact 9 fantasy cards and sets 15 Trading Forum for a grand total of 33 posts. On a Saturday. Now, Saturdays are usually rather quiet but even just a month ago we were getting over a hundred. There are only 5 threads in the general discussion that have had any discussion since Thursday. Even well after MEV came out, I could stay away from the realms, come back and have to go to the second page because of all of the activity. We're dropping like flies; either in actual players or in the collective percentual interest, and neither is any good at all. Now I know I said that I wouldn't participate in the council, but at this point we need something done NOW. What can be done now? We need a poll for EVERY position that would be held in the player's council. We need to know what positions will be held. We need people to vote for in the polls. We need a place to nominate people for being voting candidates. Whoever wins either a) gets the position or b) they are forced to choose who takes that seat. There's no more time to play the "thanks for nominating me, but I'm not good enough" game. I'm done playing it. Our survival is at stake. What to respond? [Position]: [Nominee] If they're even nominated, they get a spot on a poll. What positions do we need?
So: Rules Head Venue TO Head Online TO Head Lead R&D Creative Lead Historians [comics/VS History] Lead Publicist Chairman [guy to keep order in the committee meetings] This is what I'm gonna suggest as guidelines for now. If you feel that a position is too vague or not specific enough, mark your post as such and that will be taken into account. Please note that this is not a final thing by any means; one issue for example is the realms/vssystem/tcgplayer embassy thing. BUT if we wait for "the perfect answer", you'll be the only player left. Little of topic but with Realms being the way it is a lot of people have either switched here or gone to TCGPlayer. We are spreading to thinly between 3 sites and the council does need to be created to bring us together once and for all. We will of corse need representatives from all three sites to keep the people informed of every little detail that comes up. |

I figured it was a general dwindling. If there is noticeably more relative activity at tcgplayer, then my apologies. That said; if activity on the sites ever gets low enough, then no matter how great the council's announcements are, then all OP will end. We've been dancing around this for WEEKS and maybe my thinking is polluted with the [justifiable] lack of activity on the realms but we need to crank something out. There's already a thread discussing the ins and outs of the council but that thread imo got way off track with the discussion of DSM2. We shouldn't be having that conversation. Not now. Right now we need bodies. For Site reps, I vote for: Dragon, you and Stu. Stu is by far the most well-known poster over at the realms, and you two are moderators at tcg player. @ Rider Kick: we might need a couple. Am I the person to say what we need or don't need? Hopefully not, but if you're well-versed in both comics and basic vs mechanics then you might have a shot. idk who all is comic-savvy; I know I'm not. Whatever happens, we need Dwarf and Kamiza in on it. I'd like to think Evil Dave, Hero_Complex and Erick would be in at one level or another. I think I've spent as much midnight oil as I have. I'll be back in the morning. Later. |

Yeah, the situation is not looking great unless action is taken. I nominate Lastchance to be involved. He is one of the few people who is proactively still looking at the game and has successfully run a large scale tournament. As far as history of the game and comic history goes my friend, Mike (thefilth999) has been chronicling the game intensely for awhile now and has a great amount of knowledge on comics. OSM, you're too modest to mention yourself but you are a great ambassador for the game, and should definitely be nominated.

I would love to be involved in any way. I was one of the first people to hold a larger scale VS tourney with a large prize (Wii, EA Savage [thanks to Rietze], two Hulk Smash [1 Alt Foil]) without UDE support whatsoever (Win a Wii tourney back in October '08). I know Dan Clark is very interested in holding a large scale tourney at his local shop near Detroit every 3 months or so. I'm going to help with prize support and such with him in the future, should we run more tournaments. I'm also interested in helping anyone else in the Mid-West area with larger scale tourneys, if my schedule permits and I get a decent notice ahead of time (let's say 2 months). This would include Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota as a general area. |

I wouldn't judge anything by the amount of posts on VsRealms... That website is a virus filled mess and many people, like myself, will probably never post on there again! |
