Well looks like those retreated to yugioh after the vs discontinuation will have to find another TCG to play.

This kinda sucks for me since these were the two games I played. Konami is doing a little bit by holding its own pre-releases, but I want to see more major events and such.

Yeah it sucks... I dont even play yugi and i know it sucks cause a couple of my friends do. Right now theyre all looking at other games to keep them occupied and the only thing that looks remotely worth while seems to be UFS of all things.

Upper Deck remains committed to the Yu-Gi-Oh! community and will continue to fight Konami’s actions in court.
Where can one read about these "actions" of Konami?

It's going to take them a little while to get organized, but there's every indication that Konami is going to offer an OP program in the US that is generally comparable to UDE's, including Jumps. Hopefully they will do a better job with that than they did with the new ban list. [bang]

You can read about the whole Konami vs. UDE thing in the Gossip section of the pojo forums.

I agree that they will get an OP up, but I hope its soon enough that players don't start to abandon ship. Even if they have to wait a year until their contract with UDE is done, I hope they can at least announce what they plan to do soon in order to keep players in the game.

..and don't even get me started on the ban list [mad]

I don't want to sound too foolish, but if UDE starts to lose money on YGO, then the possibility of a VS relaunch, the acquisition of a new license (Star Wars?) or the sale of the game mechanics could be an option to increase revenue for the company as a whole.

I'm pretty sure UDE feels that Vs. System is a cow that has been milked dry, and that they are better off investing in games that have a greater upside. Besides, if anything, their Yugioh woes make a Vs. comeback less viable, not more, since Vs. benefitted from infrastructure that was put in place for Yugioh.

Watch them buy YMG and try to make Epic ... more Epic.
Except that'd fail, because of the whole shooting for the stars before growing a playerbase = lame.

Lets face it guys UDE stinks at soooo many levels. It is beyond me why they wouldn't keep VS around aside from the fact they are struggling A WHOLE LOT. It wasn't Vs it is internal stuff in the company. UDE is in trouble.

It is shame about Yugioh. Ude did do OP right. They run the best tournaments bar none. It was one of the main reasons I really got into VS.

I hear the new Conflux set for MTG is really good. Buy your stock in WOTC. For me I am going to try my hand @ L5R the only game harder to play then VS.

I am still playing Vs. Since Mev came out we have increased our number of players locally. We are averaging around 10 players now which is awesome.
