Actually, I think it might actually be more likely that players would adopt large changes more easily than small changes. It's a lot easier that players would recognize that a card as degenerative as Blink or whatever has been banned or errata'd than a bunch of small, inconsequential cards like Richard Rider et al have had name or text changes. Now I don't think it's a good idea for a council to make either of these decisions as I don't think that all players will be aware of the changes but again, I think that a large change or two will be easier to deal with than a bunch of small ones. Personally, I think that any changes to cards or bans/erratas should be done at the individual TO's discretion but that's just me. |

That's a very valid view. But, not all TOs take the time to understand the issues like an entire group of people would/could. If that TO had the thoughts of the group to use as a reference when the TO makes their decisions in regard to their events, then that could better the experiences at the event as a whole. |

I would of have thought that something as obvious and simple as Nova or Ghost Rider would be more easily accepted than erratas on Blink and company. What possible argument to create a heated and complicated debate would anyone really have to drag that issue out of proportion?
I have to disagree. While I don't mind people setting house rules for now a final errata must be developed for all players. It would really suck to be going to several tournaments where this one has x errata and the next one has y errata, and in a month the next tourney will have a combination of both x and y erratas. That would end up hurting the game much more than a "gobal" errata. Thats why I'm suggesting these baby steps. If the council can prove to make good choices and decisions in small issues then it should gain the trust of us all for greater issues. Call it a confidence booster for all the naysayers. |

Howdy, I really think this is pointless. All of us have already said everything we need to say about this on the other proposal thread on this site. Curtis is right. All of this is useless without a council. We cannot use the same VSRealms argumentative tactics & get anything done. I was under the impression that Dwarf & Kamiza were our candidates. Why have you 2 guys not stepped up & said if you accept or not? Why have we not had a vote yet? We need to have the vote now. Someone come up with the poll & lets get everyone who wants on the ballot on. Personally I think this is a waste of time. I think we should just give it to Dwarf & Kamiza. If they don't want it then they should just appoint someone but whatever. |

Honestly the only people who could do an official poll are the two guys who now run this site. They have the keys and they need to use them. I suspect that they have been deciding the last week or two how to go about this as carlosthedwarf has been hinting at. I would like to say that I completely disagree with the mentality of players not being up on any rule changes, erratas, or banings, etc. Every time a new set came out when UDE was producing the game there would be plenty of new powers and keywords that new players would have to learn and incorporate into the already existing game. Now that the community is running the show it's obvious that anyone who wants to move forward with this game will need to go online to stay involved and updated. Again, I've had my reservations about a council, but I'm pretty sure that if we as a community were to elect some kind of council to handle specific needs there wouldn't be a problem. Basically we need a hand full of people who are given specific tasks to help move the game in the right direction and to help make judgment calls from time to time on what is best for the community in general. It's the same reason there are judges at tournaments and its the same reason UDE hired certain people to handle specific jobs when creating, producing, and marketing this game in the first place. If a council is chosen it would be by a majority vote and those people would know that their actions would reflect what is best for the community. Not everyone is going to be 100% happy, but no one ever is. We have a pretty good democratic system here in America. It's not the absolute best, but it's certainly not the worst. Same thing. It does it's best to make everyone happy, but in reality it can't make every single person happy. I'm willing to be unhappy with a couple of things here and there and give change a chance then not have any future for this great game! |

Bacon...I'd like to say that I do agree with the TO being able to use his/her discretion for the betterment of their local scene. The main thing I honestly believe...is that we need to have things laid out that can be used at major events. Obviously it would be nice if everyone everywhere used the rulings/errata/etc that we decide here or at TCGplayer...but I think we can almost all agree that won't likely happen. So...let's make our plans to lay down the foundation for major events to go by...small events can only be encouraged to use the same. Soooooo...who are the nominees here on .org? I know who are at TCG....so...either nominate here....or in a new thread....whatever Dwarf and Kamiza think is best. I don't feel I'm familiar enough with everyone at this site yet to nominate...but I would like to motion that nominations begin....now.

The poll needs to go on all of the websites, in one form or another. Realms, TCGplayer, and here. This is the only way to reach most of the VS community and get the best total opinion among us. Just my two cents.
