I just wanted to say thanks to those who posted on realms in support of this site. I think it's really cool that you guys dig the vibe here and are trying to get others involved. I would have posted to the thread, but seeing as how I'm obviously a super-biased party, I figured I should just stay out of it. The thing is, some people are just not into change. They've planted their feet and don't want to try something new, especially when there is a large amount of unknown involved. This is not a knock on them at all. It's just how they roll. I was surprised to see the amount of frustration some of them were aiming at this site. A couple in particular, who I always thought would be supportive of an effort to extend the life of the game/rally the community, just came off (IMO) as way too worked up about this. And if that's truly how they feel, then maybe it's best they don't come over right now during this "growing pains" period. I think the best we can do in some cases is move forward and hope they like what they see in the future. We have an AMAZING group of people here all chomping at the bit to help breathe new life into this game. And with the new bridge we're building with TCGPlayer, I'm confident that we're in for a very fun, very productive year. Edited by carlosthedwarf, Feb 24 2009, 08:24 AM.

Pretty much everyone hates change. That's one of the problems. Either the game will die in there area or they will have to come here. We will just push along and people will take notice sooner or later. =) |

I didn't post because as you could of notice it became an issue of VsSystem.org and Realms, once again leaving TCG out of the equation. |

But in this case, I think think it was a testament to TCGPlayer that it was left out. It was because realms has so many issues (TCGPlayer doesn't) that 'Soda Man said, "Hey - I'm choosing this site, why aren't you?" I think it's fair to say two things about that: 1. TCGPlayer is in WAAAAY better shape then realms. I think of it like this (and I don't mean to offend anyone by this, this is just how I see it = personal opinion): VsSystem.org = new car. It smells nice, but will it run as smooth as we hope, or will it break down after 1,000 miles? Some people don't want to take that chance. Personally, with this community and they way things have been going so far, I see it going strong. TCGPlayer = reliable car. Perhaps it doesn't have that new smell, but it makes up for it in it's stability and longevity. It also runs strong. Realms = broken car. For people who just like to go from one place to the other, it's fine. But if you try to turn on the heater, it causes your left blinker to go on. And the radio knob broke off, so no music. And it gives you a virus. 2. That post could have just as easily been about TCGPlayer ("I choose TCG, why aren't you?") if a TCG enthusiast would have written it. And my guess is it would have gotten the same rough response. Perhaps with different reasons given, but the same tone overall. Some people just don't like change. In short, 'troops, I worry about putting the "us vs. them" vibe out there again. Not sure if that's how you meant it, but that's how I read it. |

Damn karrigi I didn't say tha. Carlos it wasn't intended to be about the us vs. them. It was more a way for me to say that the thread should of been more like: Hey why are you still here when there are two other perfectly healthy sites to discuss Vs.? Perhaps it wasn't the best way to say it but you know I'm tired of people treating TCG as the ugly sister. |

I think TCG was the quiet sister that I never got to really know. But now that I've taken the time to get to know her, I'M ALL UP IN HER FACE! So much so, that soon enough she may have to start dressing down and possibly file a restraining order.

How about offering Free Pizza? Everyone loves free Pizza! Anyways, in all seriousness, just give it some time. I think people will continue to migrate over here. The best bet is for everyone on here to START POSTING, START NEW TOPICS! If the players see lots of discussion over here (besides just "council stuff") instead of the stagnant discussions that are on other websites than they are bound to come over. I'm trying to do my part. |

Word! The council thing is just one small part of what's going on here. People are free to ignore that and just keep on keepin' on with whatever topics they like. |

I'm not complaining, I think the council thing is important but I don't think I have anything monumental to contribute so i'm keeping quiet. Every day this site seems to get more and more livelier. |

Word . That is the same boat I am in. Unless you want me help make new sets I don't have much to offer at this time. Just make sure the sets don't use the keyword Vengeance. It will be a while before I live that one down. later, Kj |

No offense intended (because frankly, do you care what I think?), but I always hated TCG player. Early on it had good articles, but the forums were dull and full of people I didn't want to hear from (and while I like you now, Shadowtrooper, all of these posts about "Why do they ignore TCG player?" are exactly the kind of thing that kept me away from that site). I don't see why anyone should be told they're wrong for posting one alternative instead of ALL alternatives. Unless you want me to start a post saying, "Hey, rather than talk about a dead game, let's all go to Magic's forums and talk there?" |

Just please try to keep the ads to a minimum... I can understand a header and footer ad, but no side ads or in-between posts ads. That's was what kept me mostly from TCGPlayer... all the ads and their navigation was a bit clunky (it's a bit clunky here too). One thing I did like was their Deck Garage, it was classified by affiliations and had who piloted it and what event it did well at. The article layout was okay too (except for the "Buy these cards from [Retailer] part"). I liked some of the writers there (yes... even 'Hoops). |

Same offer I gave BatHulk, stop and post there from time to time and I'll stop. Anyway yeah I guess I do sound like a broken record. I'll tone down for a while. |
