I'm going to be posting my 100 deck ideas for the community at large to help me refine.

Rules:

1) Only 30 cards allowed per deck
2) Only 2 of any card allowed per deck
3) The decks are limited to 2 teams (and unaffiliated characters)
4) All non-character cards need to refer to the chosen teams (or no teams at all)
5) On-team tutors and pumps and tutors should be used over generic ones (i.e. Legionaires should use New Recruits, not Mobilize)
6) Marvel and DC Universes should be kept seperate when constructing the decks
7) These are ‘Kitchen Table’ decks, not ‘Pro Circuit’ Decks. They can be competitive, but the goal is fun!

Step one: Get a lot of plot twists
Step two: ?????
Step three: Profit

2 Moonstar, Danielle Moonstar
2 Aurora, Jeanne-Marie Beaubier
2 Cable, Soldier X
2 Deadpool, Earth 5021
2 Vision, Earth-10101
1 Cable, Dayspring
1 Deadpool, Chatty Kathy
1 Cable, Temporal Traveler

2 We Can Rebuild Him
2 The Select
2 Techno Organic Virus
2 Bosom Buddies
2 Cutting Loose
2 Black Box
2 Savage Beatdowns
2 Losing the Argument
1 Merc with a Mouth

I don't know what plots are ideal in a Bosom Buddy build, all I know is that the deck wants to draw a lot of them. Almost every card in this build fascilitates drawing cards or increasing attack values.

Suggestions?

Edit:
-Savage Beatdown
+Cutting Loose

Shadowtrooper Edit:
-1 Cable, Dayspring
-1 Deadpool, Chatty Kathy
-2 Trouble with Dinosaurs
-2 Flying Kick
+2 Black Box
+2 Savage Beatdowns
+2 Losing the Argument

Scott's thematic Edit:
-1 Merc with a Mouth
+1 Chatty Kathy

I put in Cutting Loose over Savage beatdown. It goes very well with Bosom Buddies. Plus, the more for-the-turn stuff you have on Deadpool, the more likely Merc With a Mouth will draw you two more cards!

You want to be able to attack using Bosom Buddies fast and hard, and you want your rallies to be successful.

I would probably cut:
1 Cable, Dayspring
1 Deadpool, Chatty Kathy
2 Trouble with Dinosaurs
2 Flying Kick

and add:

2 Black Box
2 Savage Beatdowns
2 Losing the Argument

I think like these the rallies will be more successful and you can probably push for a turn 5 victory.

Should the six drop Cable still be in there? I feel like if we cut five, we should cut six. I'm not sure though, I've never played Bosom Buddes before!

I say leave it there, and test it like that. The great thing about having that Cable in the deck is that if the game prolongs to that point you can recycle quite possibly a Bosom Buddies or Savage Beatdown from the resource row.

This version is like a mini deck of my first Bosom Buddies incarnation so I think only testing will decide.

But you think there should be nothing on five, correct?

To tell you the truth I don't know how the deck will perform because I have not tested it at all. The game will go for more than 4 thats obvious, but I think 3 drop Deadpool can be enough to hold down the fort. Personally I wouldn't play the 5 drop.

You're probably right. I might throw in Chatty Cathy for thematic reasons. He's still pretty good. Maybe I'll test it both ways. It would just be fun to have a full curve of both Deadpool and Cable.

You need more pumps for this to work. I would take out the 6 drop Cable for a copy of Pathetic Attempt (the team-up getting replaced can hurt big time; it's good to have a counter) and then take out Losing The Argument (it really does nothing for this deck at all) for 2x Flying Kick.

Merc With a Mouth is also really bad. If you want Deadpool to ready when it matters they'll just tell you to draw 2 cards and if you want to draw 2 cards when it matters they'll just tell you to ready Deadpool. I would drop it for 2x Trouble With Dinosaurs.

Moonstar, Soldier X, and The Select all rally. I think that's why trooper included Losing the Arguement. You draw two, then set up successful rallies. Moonstar will get two cards for sure, maybe three!

As for Pathetic Attempt, I don't think there's much resource row disruption in the 100 decks, cept for maybe Darkseid. Maybe add a third team-up instead of PA? What do you think?!

Personally, I would erase all forms of this deck from the face of the earth. But that's just me.

Ok thats it Hoops. I'm going to take Karate [hat] lessons and I'm going to search for you. I'll condition my self to be a [cold] cold mother and then I'll do an Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom move and rip out your heart while I chant [bigmouth] KALIMA!!!! [bigmouth]

Never thought trying to beat Exiles would get me no love from you.

Ok I started with Bosom Buddies long before Exiles was dot on the screen but it didn't get as much attention as it does now. AHH ok 1 stone and thats it, and you better make it small and don't aim at my privates [blind] .

Yeah scott is correct, but Losing the Argument is there not only for the rallies but also to fix a stuck engine (which does unfortunately happens).

Merc with a Mouth is a bad card in the 60 card version but not in this 30 deck. The reason being that you will not be able to get as many attacks from Bosom Buddies since there are only 2 copies of it in the deck, so you need to make the ones that you do have count. Lets say that by turn 4 you managed to get the maximum 7 attacks out of the minimum 3. At this point you have done about 9 points of endurance damage to your opponent if the have a 2,3, and 4 drop in play, and you should still have a ready Cable and Deadpool. Meaning you have 4 attacks left, which transfers to 64 points of damage + the 9 that have been done by stunning the opposing board. If we do get all possible attacks the deck has no problems in doing what it is supposed to do. But as we all know decks don't always manage to do what is expected of them so for those rare situations we need Merc With a Mouth.

If you need to use Black Box for fixing your draw engine you will need to get extra attack pumps in this case Savage Beatdown. How do we use Merc with a Mouth in this case? Well after we exhaust all possible attacks with Bosom Buddies we do a single attack with Deadpool, and draw our Savage Beatdowns via Merc With a Mouth. There is no way they will let Deadpool ready because they will fear yet another Bosom Buddies, that gives us the extra ATK Pump for Cable to seal the deal. Either by pumps or power ups.

Merc With a Mouth also helps us on multiple attacks not on the 4th turn but on the 3rd turn where we need to draw as much as possible, or cause as much extra damage as we can.

If there was something to be cut from this deck list it would probably be Aurora and it would probably be for another team-up and perhaps an extra ATK pump.

4x Caliban. In every friggin' deck. Irritating.

I did enjoy watching it lose to IG Handfill the other week, though. "You now have 30 plot twists in hand. Please choose one to play." [laugh] I should have filmed the match and sent it to the Karate Kid. [cool]
