Trust me Fiend if we do Silver Age we will have to have a house rule banning Blink or an errata on her. It pretty much comes down to the fact that almost nothing will beat Exiles Burn in Silver or Modern and they are a force to be reckoned with in Golden but there are faster decks but I would love for people to come to this event and enjoy it other than just seeing who can bring the fastest deck. This is why I really would like to hold an alternate format like BYOTT, BYOT, or something similar. And thank you kariggi for the Silver Age info=). later, Kj P.S: I am not outside of doing Silver Age though. I do want to throw that out there but if we do I will be implementing a ban on 3-Drop Blink. That or an errata that everyone agrees is playable but not as ridiculously over powered like she is. Burning for 40-50 endurance on turn four before even attacking won't be happening at this event...Well at least not with Blink and Mariko. Edited by KardKrazy, Mar 9 2009, 09:04 PM.

If you really have your heart set on GA, the most fair seems to be BYOT Golden, as it really cuts down on the amount of unforseen shenanigans. If you guys want to ban/errata Blink, it's your event. There's not real VS now anyway, I suppose anything goes. It would be nice to not have to play Exiles or something that beats Exiles but auto-loses to everything else. I'll keep an eye on this thread and ask around. I'm sure I could get 2-3 people to come with. |

BYOT is Only one team but you get play with generics right? I could definitely live with that So far we have 3 from wilson 1 from raleigh 2 from high point, though i might be able to get two more if i pull some strings 3 from williamsburg and exar said he could get like 3 right? So how many more people do we need to get to make this happen? |

Fiend, I believe BYOT is suppose to be a format where you can only bring a deck with cards that reference the team you are playing but I see no reason why we can't implement our own style into it. So unless we have an objection to Golden BYOT that looks like the format we will go with. This means that you bring a deck where every character card in the deck shares the same affiliation. The other stipulation to the rule of using only plot twist, locations, and equipments will be removed. So generic cards will be allowed. As far as house rules go, as of right now there is none when coming to our own ban list. I will speak with Gabe about this matter since he will be the head judge and see what his take on Blink is. Right now if everyone showed up that has said they could we would have between 14-16 people which is more than enough for me to get the ball rolling on this tournament. That does not even include the guys from Greenville. I know we can get at least one or two of them to show. By the way so far for prize support I have: 1x EA Mobilize 1x Complete Set of MEQ (minus the 6 rare MEQ cards that are worth hundreds of dollars...sorry don't have those;-) I have more but that is off the top of my head at the moment. I will also have a Playmat or two for prize support and I will have a TON of EA's to give away as participation (some old and some newer (MAA, DCX, & MEQ). I don't expect the players to bring prize support although I am grateful for the offers. This event is for you guys and to get together at least one more big tournament for Vs in the South. I will also be providing a few comic books for prize support. Once I have everything together that will be given for prize support and participation I will post them here so everyone who is interested can see=). I will speak with Gabe tomorrow and go ahead and get everything moving for this tournament. later, Kj P.S: I also want to throw out there that if The Hobby Shop is willing to let me hold the tournament there we might could bump up the tournament date by two weeks meaning that it would be April 25th instead of May 9th. Would this be a problem for anyone who has said they would attend. This still gives you all almost a month and a half to get a deck ready. |

lol...Hey I am glad we are all communicating. It means the maximum number of people will be able to attend. I will find out what available days the Hobby Shop and the guys in Wilson have today and we will go from there. But April 25th is a bad day for Fiend so I will come up with another day. It looks like May 9th is going to be the best day. It is a while away and no one has complained about that day. I hate to have to wait so long to hold the tournament now that I now we have a good number of people interested in it, but if we have to hold off until then we will. Talk to you all later, Kj |

Here's something just to throw out there. I know there have been threads about it and I don't want to opent any debate just a simple yes or no. What about allowing proxies? Perhaps in some limited form as I saw suggested so that you can't proxy 4x a card to give those who have collected them a little edge. And obviously, it would have to be a true printout no chicken scratch. Anyway, just a thought. Either way I'm still planning on coming. |

I would say no to proxies, but it's not my event. I know not everyone has the card stock to be able to build the deck they want to, but there are 2 things to consider: 1. The event isn't this weekend, there is still time. 2. Since UDE's announcement, the secondary market has dropped like a stone. Treat yourself to that playset of Mobilize you've been eyeing. BYOT does allow for generics, (Flying Kick, Mobilize, etc), as long as every other card is the team you pick or mentions the team. At least, it did when it was announced. Maybe we should ask "the council." I'm looking forward to it. I don't have much to contribute to prize support, but I can bring a wangload of EAs to give out as participation prizes, so no one goes home empty handed. Savvy? I have a couple decks I can bring no problem. Moreso I was asking for a couple of the guys that might be coming with me. And some cards are still in low supply, like for instance Surfer's Board, MEQ cards, and whatnot. Anyway, I'm just happy we are gonna have a tourny in my region. WOOO!!!! |

As far as proxies go Dave. I have to say yes to the final 6 MEQ cards but no to cards that are available to buy (I know the final 6 MEQ cards are available but $125 for a common/uncommon is a collector's item, not a playing card;-) But I am speaking with Gabe today and we will talk about all these questions and more. Trader, you don't have to bring any prize support man but if you have a couple of EA's you want to get get rid of and pass them out as Prize Support it is greatly appreciated=). But I promise that I am bringing HUNDREDS of EA's to pass out as prize support (some old school and some newer and more usable like MAA, MEQ, DCX, and DWF (At Their Finest, Crackshot, etc). I will let you know all what Gabe says about the questions at hand, Kj |

With the main tourney being Golden Age, I don't think there is a real need to allow proxies, but I am not opposed to it if it brings in more people, I would limit to 4 though What are we looking at for prize I think 10.00 to play is pretty reasonable and 20.00 if no one walks away empty handed. Affordable enough that people want to come and affordable enough to kardkrazy that he might want to throw another one a couple months down the road |

Looks like the Willamsburg crew is getting a decent sized group to come down which is awesome, I think I have convinced my friend who has just started playing to make the trip, hopefully i can get him up to speed before the tourney |
