I'm going to be posting my 100 deck ideas for the community at large to help me refine. Rules: 1) Only 30 cards allowed per deck 2) Only 2 of any card allowed per deck 3) The decks are limited to 2 teams (and unaffiliated characters) 4) All non-character cards need to refer to the chosen teams (or no teams at all) 5) On-team tutors and pumps and tutors should be used over generic ones (i.e. Legionaires should use New Recruits, not Mobilize) 6) Marvel and DC Universes should be kept seperate when constructing the decks 7) These are ‘Kitchen Table’ decks, not ‘Pro Circuit’ Decks. They can be competitive, but the goal is fun! Backup abilities make your characters huge. Especially Hulk and Sub-Mariner on 5, 6, and 7. Samantha lets them attack twice for some brutal damage. 2x Tania Belinskya <> Red Guardian - Cold Warrior 1x John Walker <> U.S. Agent, Loose Cannon 2x Hellcat - Patsy Walker 1x Hawkeye - Loud Mouth 2x Samantha Parrington <> Valkyrie - Exiled 1x Richard Rider <> Nova - Xandarian Nova Corps 1x Dr. Strange, Founding Father 1x Hulk - Grumpy Green Goliath 1x Wendell Vaughn <> Quasar - Protector of the Universe 1x Sub-Mariner, Neptune's Fist 1x Hulk - Strongest One There Is 2x Flying Kick 2x The Order 2x One-Man Rampage 2x Defenders Defend! 2x Banished to the Abyss 2x Astral Projection 2x The “B” Team Thoughts? Trooper's Version: 2x Beast, New Defender 2x Tania Belinskya <> Red Guardian, Cold Warrior 2x Hellcat, Patsy Walker 1x Hawkeye, Loud Mouth 1x Sub-Mariner, King of Atlantis 2x Samantha Parrington <> Valkyrie, Chooser of the Slain 1x Richard Rider <> Nova, Xandarian Nova Corps 2x Devil-Slayer, Eric Simon Payne 1x Dr. Strange, Founding Father 2x Flying Kick 2x Unexpected Assault 2x Close the Gap 2x Banished to the Abyss 2x The Order 2x Reset 2x The B Team 1x Blind Sided 1x Press the Attack Edited by scottkthompson, Jun 1 2009, 02:08 AM.

I tend to enjoy Devil Slayer versions of the deck with for the turn ATK pumps like Flying Kick, Crackshot and so forth. Add a little Blinsided, attack twice or more if you use Reset and don't worry about the game going to 7 or more. |

I'm ok with going that route. Dr. Strange is already prominent in the Illuminati, and Hulk is prominent in Warbound. Do you have a list? |

Actually the deck needs more for the turn pumps and Blind Sided in order to win. I'll see if I can post a deck list later today.

Also to keep it Marvel you coud squeeze in Mob Mentality (+3) Winstorm (+2) Common Bond (+5) You would have to run more 5 drops though Closing the Gap (+2) Unexpected Assault (+2) |

Ok here is what I think the deck should look like 2x Beast, New Defender 2x Tania Belinskya <> Red Guardian, Cold Warrior 2x Hellcat, Patsy Walker 1x Hawkeye, Loud Mouth 1x Sub-Mariner, King of Atlantis 2x Samantha Parrington <> Valkyrie, Chooser of the Slain 1x Richard Rider <> Nova, Xandarian Nova Corps 2x Devil-Slayer, Eric Simon Payne 1x Dr. Strange, Founding Father 2x Flying Kick 2x Banished to the Abyss 2x Mob Mentality 2x Rabbit Fire 1x Close the Gap 2x Reset 1x Blind Sided 1x Press the Attack 1x The Order 2x The B Team Well here it is. Deck wants odds. I don't play 1 drops in favor of more 2 drops. We should play Beast as he becomes huge on DEF and most people forget that he has Evasion which really helps when they attack all pumped up. You set up for Devil Slayer on 5 getting his first 2 attacks via Samantha, while getting pumped with Tania, Flying Kicks, Rabbit Fire, Banished to the Abyss, Close the Gap and Mob Mentality. Reset on attacks for the chance to pump him up more with his ability. Use Blind Sided to screw on Reinforcement, Reset works well for this too, but be careful on how you use it as they can screw you with the chain. If you get evens then hold on 5 and try on 6. If you managed to keep Both 4 and 5 then Use Samantha on Devil Slayer, recruit Strange and activate Samantha on him as well. If not then replay Samantha and Tania on 6. |

What do you guys think about removing Mob Mentality for Unexpected Assault just because of the fact that Mob Mentality has something to do with physical-mutants, which might confuse kids in a deck that has nothing to do with mutants traits? |

That +1 ATK difference might cost a game. I would of thought it was a great way to tech them about Mutant Traits, but if you really think that it will confuse the kids then heck yeah change them. |

The only other Marvel "for the turn" pump I found was Windstorm, and it's a +2 as well (unless we have another character with the same cost, making it a +4). Anyone else notice how DC-heavy the "for the turn" pumps are? |

Well Marvel has the following non team stamped or legendary for the turn Pumps (that I could find). Not all of them are great giving only +1ATK but most of them give +2 for the turn with quite a few tied to either Flying, range, or both. Flying Kick Unexpected Assault Close the Gap Pack Tactics (while defending but still) Mob Mentality Kill or be Killed (for physical) Phase Shift Forward Assault (front row only) Rabbit Fire Charge! Evil Awakens (for hidden characters) Common Bond Cutting Loose Captive Audience I think that DC has the most played (without Flying Kick): Mega Blast Crackshot Combat Reflexes They do have tons of others but I'm too lazy to search for those too. |

I use Rabbit Fire in my Defenders deck because a) I only have so many generics and b) Rabbit Fire gives flight and range, so I can stash my big attacker for the turn in the support row, if they don't have flight available (or in the case of Sub-Mariner, need to team attack to take him down) |

Does Reset counter Samantha? Doesn't her ability ready Devil Slayer when you'd want to play Reset to cancel the attack anyway? |

Well on the first attack you don't play Reset, you simply allow for the attack to resolve, so attack their lowest drop or attack to wreak their formation. Reset is used for the second and/or third attack. |
