I'm going to be posting my 100 deck ideas for the community at large to help me refine. Rules: 1) Only 30 cards allowed per deck 2) Only 2 of any card allowed per deck 3) The decks are limited to 2 teams (and unaffiliated characters) 4) All non-character cards need to refer to the chosen teams (or no teams at all) 5) On-team tutors and pumps and tutors should be used over generic ones (i.e. Legionaires should use New Recruits, not Mobilize) 6) Marvel and DC Universes should be kept seperate when constructing the decks 7) These are ‘Kitchen Table’ decks, not ‘Pro Circuit’ Decks. They can be competitive, but the goal is fun! Curve your way to five throwing out extra characters with Dr. light, then KO your resources with Empire of Tears and other cards to turn all your effects on! Remember to swing with Hammond on five BEFORE you KO all your resources! If you don't kill on five, Sinestro can be dropped on turn six even if you only have three resources. 2 The Shark – T.S. Smith 1 Sonar – Dastardly Discord 1 Henry King Jr. <> Brainwave - Psionic Manipulator 2 Tattooed Man – Abel Tarrant 1 Fatality – Emerald Assassin 1 Hector Hammond, Super-Futuristic Mind 2 Dr. Light, Master of Holograms 1 Dr. Polaris – Dr. Neal Emerson 2 Goldface – Keith Kenyon 1 Obsidian – Todd James Rice 2 Major Force – Clifford Zmeck 2 Sinestro – Corrupted by the Ring 2 Femme Fatality 2 Prison Planet 2 Empire of Tears 2 Golden Death 2 Emerald Dawn 2 Trial by Fire Note: This is a Felix deck, but I forgot to tell Felix that the banned list does not apply since this is a limited environment. I took liberties to add Dr. Light over Mongul at the three drop spot because I feel Dr. Light is borderline necessary to play this deck. He certainly helps you recover from Goldface's discard! Felix Edit: - 1 Sonar – Dastardly Discord + 1 Henry King Jr. <> Brainwave - Psionic Manipulator Edited by scottkthompson, Mar 21 2009, 05:24 AM.

Should one Henry King Jr. <> Brainwave, Psionic Manipulator take the place of one Sonar – Dastardly Discord so that Dr. Light has more fodder? |

With Doctor Light available I would certainly add in Henry King Jr. I'd actually replace 1 each of Sonar and the Shark with 1 each of Henry King Jr <> Brainwave and 1 Hector Hammond - Super-Futuristic Mind. Although Hector may seem to play against the theme a bit, you will always want to get to 5 resources to play Major Force, and if you make Hector your first attacker for the turn he hs 8 ATK with a prison planet, so it isn't too hard for him to stun somebody, at which point you'll be happy he's there. |

Looks fine to me. It would be nice if there were another good little guy to run, so there was only one Shark, but I can't think of one off the top of my head. |

Since all the characters have Willpower... Light Armor over Trial by Fire, maybe? You can use it as a pump out of hand as well, but if you get it on one of your early drops, it can add a lot of damage... I also prefer Sinestro Defiant over Golden Death, since you're not necessarily going to have a way to exhaust a character when you attack them. If you end up defending on 5, Sinestro Defiant would be good to get your resource KO on. Also, +2 more will usually be enough to stunback up when your Prison Planet is in play. Otherwise, good job! This deck has long been a fun one to play. People feel cheated when they lose to it, like old school Crime Lords. |

Sinestro Defiant is pretty cool, but you generally don't have that much trouble stunning back. I'd much rather have the power on attacks. And I tended to find playing the deck that I had plenty of resource destruction going on. You don't need to KO all of them. Goldface, Obsidian, Empire of Tears and Femme Fatality all do the job. If I'm defending on 5 then I'd rather have 6 points next turn to drop a couple of guys and then start blowing them all up. One good suggestion if you want a good play for off-initiative turns is cover fire. Your guys are pretty big and that lets you deal with most attackers, and your naturally big attack gets stunbacks anyway. Also Golden Death is just a nice little trick. It lets you bust open L formations quite nicely for one, and if you have Doctor Polaris you can set up some big damage. In terms of Light Armour, that wouldn't be a bad substitution, but I often found that running Goldface amongst others I would want as many cards in hand as possible, because you run out quite fast, and Light Armour isn't as conducive to that. I can see it working fine though. (I guess I tended to play the deck for a really explosive endgame. You'd do a fair amount of damage early on, but really it was all about turn 5/6 when you just smashed through. I did try Light Armour out a few times, but I was never that happy with it - I have an anti-equipment bias though). |

I agree that the deck should be all about an explosive endgame. Once you've blown those resources you're kind of out for the count so you better make it count! |
