For the love of me, during a great game this weekend with my buddy, a question came up and I couldnt remember for certain what should happen. To explain, I had a character that had the ability of "whenever he stuns a character with lesser cost, KO it." and my opponent had a character that read "Whenever this character becomes stunned, return to its owners hand." The problem occured when I was attacking. So during resolution, what should have happened? |

If you had priority that turn, then your effect goes on the chain first, his goes on second, and the chain always resolves in reverse order. So his effect goes through before yours (the character bounces). |

Miguel's results are right but I feel there needs to be a clarification on semantics. Because priority bounces back and forth between the players, you cannot have priority for the turn. Rule 702.3 in the CRD discusses simultaneous events and how to determine which goes on first. It says the primary player gets to choose in what order his/her effects go on the chain and then the next player clockwise until all the simultaneous effects have been added. Then priority is given to the primary player to add additional effects. Per the CRD here is the definition of primary player. The primary player is the player whose step it is, if players are in a step or a substep. If players are not in a specific step or a substep, then the player who has initiative this turn is the primary player. As you were attacking it was your step and thus your effects go on the chain first. If, however, he had been attacking he would have been the primary player and his effect would have gone on the chain first and the character would have KO'd.
