I have few questions linked to Runaways: 1. Wondering about Priority with Nico Minoru:
What happens if a player plays let's say, Losing the Argument:
Do those effects hit the chain simultaneously (in that case priority player gets to choose the order) or is there any other timing (like delay used by the "may" in Nico Minoru game text)? 2. Question about Victor Mancha:
If an opponent use a payment powers by paying endurance, is it considering as well as paying/losing endurance? 3. And last (for now), what happens if I activate Alex Wilder, and my opponents has no cards in his deck but let's say 2 cards in his hand:
Thanks guys. |

Some background rules info should help soften up the question a bit. The "choosing order" rule provides that a player chooses the order of effects when 1) that player controls 2) two or more triggered effects that are all waiting to go on the chain. This rule's needed for a very specific reason---an effect can never go on the chain while other stuff is happening. You can't put an effect on the chain while another effect is being played or resolved; anything that triggers during that stretch waits on the sidelines. Nico Minoru, specifically, is triggered by a plot twist being played. She triggers during the steps of playing Losing the Argument. (Very close to the end, actually; there's a particular step, right after costs get paid, when the effect becomes "played." The plot twist's effect gets put on the chain before targeting and costs.) Once Losing the Argument is all done being played, and its player is about to get priority again, any triggered effects like Nico's get put on the chain. So it's Losing the Argument, then Nico, which means Nico's will resolve first. You can check 505.1 if you need more info. Paying and losing endurance are different things---but paying endurance always leads to losing endurance. So if the opponent pays endurance, Victor will trigger. You can check out 203.8b for more. Once an effect is resolving, you have to complete as much as possible. Each player tries to draw three cards, and then tries to discard three cards. The discard happens regardless of whether the draw was successful, since there's nothing like an "if you do" phrase in the text. And if you can't draw/discard a full three cards, you still draw/discard what you do have. End result, the player has to discard his two cards. |

Okay. Thank you very much for all the tips. So if I do understand correctly for Nico Minoru, her effects is always resolving before (as being put last in the chain) the PT that triggers her effect no matters if it's me or my opponents that play the effect. |

Yeah Nico doesn't care who played the plot twist, and neither does her trigger. |
