At the beginning when the game came out, there was always this heroic sacrifice that gave me problems because i did not understand the rulings. someone would use it on garth, then i would attack garth again and they would use it again, but they didn't exhaust him because he was already exhausted. yet they were still able to use the card and my attackers would be removed. so i don't know if it has been errataed or what not, so i was wondering with a card like in the crossfire since it requires you to exhaust four people to play it i wanted to know if it went the same way, if i could exhaust someone who is already exhausted because it does not specify "exhaust 4 ready characters you control" |

Heroic Sacrifice: To play, stun a non-defending Teen Titans character you control. Exhaust target Teen Titans defender you control and remove all attackers from this attack. In the Crossfire: To play, exhaust four X-Force characters you control. Ongoing: At the start of the combat phase, return a plot twist card from your KO'd pile to your hand. Here's the thing about Heroic Sacrifice: If it's not listed in the cost of playing the plot twist (everything after "To play," is a cost) so it just tries to resolve as much as possible. If Garth is already exhausted, Heroic Sacrifice will try to but fail. If Heroic read, "Exhaust target Teen Titans defender you control. If you do, remove all attackers from this attack." then they would have to exhaust Garth to get the effect. When it comes to In the Crossfire, it is listed as part of the cost. You have to do it to play the effect. Edited by bkwrds, May 16 2009, 12:37 PM.
