Here we go...

Anarky's text reads-
"Whenever Anarky attacks an exhausted character, that character can't ready this turn."

Righteous Anger reads-
"Stun target Hulk you control. If you do, recover and ready him.
That Hulk can't be the target of effects this turn."

Heres what happened...
Anarchy declared an attack on an exhausted 6 drop Hulk.
It was declared legal.
The attacker passed.
The controller of Hulk played Righteous Anger.
Then both players passed.

How does this resolve? Does Anarky's effect take hold?

As soon as the atk was declared legal Anarky's criteria was met, so his effect (dont ready this turn modifier) goes on the chain.

When Righteous Anger resolves, Hulk stuns, recovers, and readies. Then Anarky's effect (which does not target) comes off the chain, so if Hulk gets stunned/exhausted again this turn he would not ready. The atk is over once Hulk was stunned, so Anarky would then ready.

The player should have played Righteous Anger after the atk was declared but before it became legal. Then Anarky would be unable to atk an exhausted Hulk.

OK Anarchy's effect was put on the chain as soon as the attack was declared Legal. He states that the character can't be readied that turn. In Vs.

can't > can

So no Hulk doesn't ready because of RA.

Can't > Can, that is true.

However, Righteous Anger makes Hulk ready before Anarky's effect comes off the chain. Anarky's effect doesnt do anything until it comes off the chain.

Once the attack was declared legal, Anarky puts an effect on the chain that prevents Hulk from readying. There's no chain for Anarky's effect after it resolves as a triggered effect. As soon as the attack was legal, Anarky is "attacking an exhausted character", his effect goes on the chain, and if both players then pass then the effect is in place.

So, I guess I need a clarification:

Heres what happened...
Anarchy declared an attack on an exhausted 6 drop Hulk.
It was declared legal.
Anarky's triggered effect goes on the chain.
The attacker passed.
The controller of Hulk played Righteous Anger.
Then both players passed.

If this is the situation, then Righteous Anger resolves before Anarky's triggered effect resolves, and Hulk readies. THEN Anarky's effect resolves, preventing Hulk from readying any time later this turn (keep in mind the effect will still resolve because it doesn't target so it isn't negated by Righteous Anger and it doesn't specify that the recipient of the effect has to be a defender or in combat). And just to clarify, the attack phase will also resolve, basically finding Anarky attacking nobody (the defender was removed) and then he readies too.

Interesting, we played it that Hulk stayed exhausted, however, Hulk had the initiative and had already attacked that turn so it wasnt a game breaker. Thanks guys, good to know.
