I have a feeling that this is a very easy answer, and should be obvious to me, but I have had arguments with friends about this, so here goes: When an effect states that a character cannot be recovered this turn ( a la Sabertooth, Reformed Killer) and this effect has been applied to all opposing characters, and all of them are stunned, what exactly happens? Are all of the KO'd? Is on kept, but remains stunned into the next turn? I have looked at the rules on recovery, but it seems to suggest that you may un-stun (one) character, and KO the rest. So if none can be legally un-stunned, do they all get KO'd? thanks in advance, and apologies if this has been covered before. |

Pretty much, if you can't recover it, unless it also cannot be KO'd, then they die. |

Any and all characters that are still stunned at the end of recovery are KO'd barring some type of, can't be KO'd this turn effect that has been played on them. The easiest way to remember this is 1. In the event of a contradiction between card text and game rules, the card wins. 2. Can't is always greater than can. |

Thanks very much for the quick reply! This should settle a few arguments at least. Cheers! |

If you enter recovery with one stunned character, you get the choice: Do I go to the next turn with a full board, or do I KO this stunned character? If you have more than 1 stunned character, you only get to pick one of the stunned characters to keep, assuming you even want to keep any of them [which is likely]. Barring specific card text, like Lazarus Pit or something. Edited by Orange_Soda_Man, Oct 13 2009, 02:22 AM.

ok, so that means you can keep a stun character that can't recover in play correct? |

Not unless it also can't be KO'd. |

Alright so to keep a character( without "can't be ko'd") it has to be able to recover? |

From the comprehensive rules:
So if through some modifier you cannot recover your one stunned character, it will be KO'd. |

Generally, any stunned characters KO at the end of the recovery phase. The only way to keep a stunned character stunned through to next turn is by playing some type of "Can't be stunned" effect on it. |

Thanks Bliven. It's funny how you can think one thing and type another. I appreciate the help. |

no ... it just needs to have the [can't be KO'd] clause. Card's that do it: Lazarus pit, Leslie Thompson's clinic, Demonic Embryo, a few other underworld tricks. So unless you use one of these on someone who can't recover, they die. Using these cards is the only way to keep stunned characters from KO-ing and to have them carry into the next turn in the stunned state. |
