The card reads: "Whenever a Crimelords character you control attacks this turn, you may exhaust an opposing character." My question is: If an opponent is using this against me can I activate or exhaust for my own affect or not? Second question: Is a character considered exhausted if they are stunned? Thanks! Yes you can chain activating to your opponent trying to exhaust you. No I don't think that they are considered exhausted or ready if they are stunned. |

1) While you do have a chance to exhaust your own characters before the delayed triggered effect from Assault on Helicarrier 13 resolves, your opponent doesn't choose who he's exhausting until resolution. Notice that the triggered effect doesn't use the word "target" anywhere. You don't have a chance to exhaust after the opponent's made his choice, because neither player has priority during the resolution of an effect. 2) By definition, stunned characters are also exhausted. |

Stunned characters don't count towards effects that are increased due to the ammount of exhausted characters you control though I'm pretty sure. Could be wrong though. |

Nope, they count. Notice that Press the Attack specifically refers to "non-stunned exhausted characters" for this reason. |

Thank you so much for the info guys! WOW! I can't BELIEVE the rule about stunned characters being considered exhausted! CrAzY!!! I recognized that it didn't "target", but didn't realize the specifics of why I could still exhaust or even have a chance to respond! |

The fact that it doesn't target just means that the opponent doesn't make any choices until resolution---so that you have to decide what to do before knowing who he's going to exhaust. The fact that you have a chance act at all, though, is true of every effect---one of the most basic mechanics of the game is that an effect can't resolve unless/until both players pass. Every payment power and triggered power generates an effect, and you always have a chance to act before an effect can resolve. |
