Excellent.

Anyone else who might be interested is still encouraged to post - you'll be an alternate in case we have a no show above and perhaps more importantly you'll be the first registered in the next tournament.

To the players - get your decklists to me either at the above email or by PM. Pick the method that you'd most like to be communicated with by me and your opponents. Get them to me by the end of 29 November so I can do the pairings for 30 November.

Cheers.

I prefer Skype since on top of communicating via text I can actually talk to my opponent if need be.

Updated, including listing Morpheus1981 as the first alternate. If anyone fails to submit a decklist, you'll get a spot.

In terms of communicating in-game, players can work that out between themselves.

I meant preferred communication method in terms of initial contact and pre-game exchanges. For the sake of simplicity I think it needs to be either email or Vssystem.org PM. Whichever method you use to send me your decklist will be the method of contact I recommend to your opponent, so whichever you pick you'll have to keep an eye of that over the next few days to coordinate your match.

Cheers.

Just waiting on Jetman07 and Vader. PMs have been sent.

Time is running out, dudes.

Edit - Vader is up and running now, so just waiting on Jetman07. I'll wait until midnight LA time and if he hasn't submitted his decklist, then Morpheus1981 will get his spot.

That's it. Jetman07 is seemingly a no-show (sorry dude if you come along in the morning hoping to play, you can be the first registered for the next one in that case, but I have to get it started for the sake of the others). That means Morpheus1981 gets his spot.

Pairings for round one are:
Vader vs KardKrazy
EvilDave vs Morpheus1981
Villain vs kingfish
TheDerangedBear vs bkwrds

Each player is responsible for contacting the other to arrange a mutually suitable playing time. The loser must report the result to me by PM (since that seems to be everyone's preferred method). All matches from round one must be finalised by the end of NEXT SUNDAY, so that pairings for round two can be made for next Monday.

Good luck and have fun.

Excellent question. I hadn't considered the possibility of best of three.

Let's leave it at single game for this tournament and I'll take your feedback whether or not future tournaments should be best of three.

That said, if both players in any given match would like to decide to play best of three prior to starting the first match, then that's fine by me.

I just wouldn't want for someone to have joined this tournament assuming single game matches (and being comfortable with that time commitment) only to find the "rules" changed on them.

My biggest concern is that time can't really be effectively observed in these matches, so best of three could stretch out to be quite a marathon or involve multiple sessions. That mightn't be easily done for some people.

Ultimately, there is no reason why only one tournament has to run at a time. Single game matches will result in a higher turnover of matches, which isn't really a bad thing. There's no reason why someone can't be registered to play in more than one tournament at a time and if you do get eliminated then hopefully the next tournament will start soon ... that's my vision anyway.

Finally, I figure it shouldn't need to be said, but players have to play the entire tournament with the decklist they submitted to me. If you have any problems remembering what you submitted shoot me a PM and I'll send it back to you.

Cheers.

Results as they come in ...

Vader vs KardKrazy - KardKrazy Wins
EvilDave vs Morpheus1981 - EvilDave Wins
Villain vs kingfish - Villain Wins
TheDerangedBear vs bkwrds - bkwrds Wins

Just so you guys know, I'll put out the call for the next tournament when the first round ends.
