Ok, the idea... On Turn Four play a Trouble with Clones and get yourself a Deadpool - Party Pooper (hunter, ready when he stuns hunted character 17/14) i don't know if its possible to make this deck anymore reliable, but on Turn 4.... Deadpool should do some serious damage.... even turn 5 after taking a beating he is still a damn good recruit here's the decklist Locations: 3x Weapon Plus Satellite (to hunt with) 4x Latveria (to play Trouble With Clones on Turn 4) 4x Doomstadt - Castle Doom (for Latveria) 1x Base of Operations (for cycling deck) Characters: 4x Valeria Von Doom - Heir to Latveria (for Latveria, and cycling) 4x Beast - Dr. Henry McCoy (for Trouble With Clones on Turn 4) 4x Boris, Personal Servant of Dr.Doom (cycling/ getting Trouble w/Clones) 4x Deadpool - Earth-5021 (for Trouble w/Clones) 4x Deadpool - Party Pooper (because he's awesome) 2x Dr. Doom, Power Hungry (hopefully Turn 5 play, but maybe six) 2x Wolverine, Secret Avenger (Turn 5 play, handles hidden characters) 2x Sub-Mariner, Ally of Doom (Turn 7 Play) Equipment: 3x Ego Gem (for cycling) Plot Twists: 4x Super-Genius (for cycling) 3x Trouble With Clones (3 cost deadpool, on turn 4 = 7) 3x The Illuminati (for cycling) 3x Extended Monologue (if you've got deadpool....) 2x Merc with a Mouth (draw more cards once you've got party pooper) 2x Losing the Argument (cycling) 1x From the Ashes (Turn 7 possibility, +30 endurance) 1x Back from the Dead (Turn 5 possibility for a cycled Dr.Doom/Wolverine) Total: 60 cards |

Your combo is very reliant on getting key cards early. I'm inclined to suggest a bunch of X-men 1-drops to be able to time breach for to make sure you hit beast on 2. Running Enemy of my Enemy sounds good too. This would add the consistency you want for Deadpool but it would also let you cut out the doom stuff. Strategy-wise, it 'prolly makes more sense just to shift out Deadpool on 3 - that way you know you go into 4 with the ability to have both deadpool 3 and beast in play just incase they have hidden area attacking shenanigans. Merc with a Mouth should be 4x, and will help you end the game well before 7 so you could cut your lategamers. Edited by Orange_Soda_Man, Mar 12 2010, 10:35 PM.

I would actually go the opposite route; just play location search so you can find Latveria; it's easier than trying to keep beast around. Run Lockjaw / San as your 1 and 2 drops, and mulligan for Latveria or one of those guys, and you should be fine. Oh, and 4 Trouble with Clones; come on, it is the theme :).

hmm... i'll have to do some more decktesting....it is unreliable because the amount of cards you need to do it, i'll see if i can get something more reliable out of these suggestions.... |

ok i am confused. will someone clarify for me.... do shifted chars need the resources to cover their cost in order to bring em into play or not? another thread someone said u have to have the amount of resources equivalent to the chars cost in order to play the char with shift. |

4x Valeria Von Doom - Heir to Latveria (for Latveria, and cycling) This is the one on the UDE ban list correct? God I love that card. Maybe 1 Mind Gem (for cycling) Edited by kariggi, Mar 12 2010, 11:40 PM.

Deadpool's Early In case your interested, follow the link to the deck I built for this using the X-men route Scott was referring to. Very consistent. Also, I disagree with Merc with a Mouth. In this scenario with an ideal draw you have 1 turn to use this prior to Deadpool, Party Pooper hitting the field. Once Party Pooper hits the field, what is it you're wanting to draw into? You don't have any pumps in the list so that really won't help you. I would suggest replacing it with a Invasion Plans. Exhaust your hidden Deadpool 3-drop on initiative and draw 2 cards. Does the same thing that Merc With a Mouth does but without the hassle. Plus you can play it on turn 2 once Beast hits the field. |

Shift basically means you can pay for a character over several turns, BUT it can't come into play before it normally would. I can't play a 3-drop with shift when I only have two resources in play (shift for 1 on turn 1, add two shift counters by spending your two resource points on 2). You could bring it in on turn 3 for free though and still have your three resources, but the point I was getting at is this - It's easier to maintain the board if you have a character "hiding" shifted rather than it being in your hidden area. =================== I agree with Dave, the location route is much easier. Heck you can run attilan too. |
