So I am building a deck and was hoping for a few suggestions. I already have a Revenge Squad Ongoing Plot Twist deck with all the usual cards, but I wanted to build a second Revenge Squad deck to use with a few of the other characters I liked from the team. I had the idea of playing Crisis on Infinite Earths so I could have Lex Luthor on 5 and 6, and play Superboy on 7 without having to worry about Loyalty. Here is the character list... Pransker: Oswald Loomis (x4) Natasha Irons-Starlight: Everyman Project (x4) Lex Luthor: Champion of the Common Man (x1) Donna Troy: Born Again (x4) Metallo: John Corben (x4) Metallo: Kryptonite Heart (x1) Lex Luthor: Metropolis Mogul (x4) Lex Luthor: Power Armor (x4) Superboy: Yellow Sun Armor (x3) Doomsday: Armageddon Creature (x2) Crisis on Infinite Earths: Team-Up (x4) And that's all I've got. I can't play any Revenge Squad support cards (not that they were any good). I'm not sold on Drops 1 thru 3, but everything else I kinda want to keep. Any suggestions? |

throwing a random thought out here If you go secret six for your early drops. Lex <> Mockinbird can be used a) to get secret six out b4 the team up b)as a power-up c) as your back-up 7. Scandal can be used to pull crisis when you need it, or any other OPT or the back-up 6. |

I'm not sure that's really necessary. I thought about running a few copies of Teamwork as both CoIE search and protection. Between that and Donna Troy, I'm really not too concerned about getting CoIE by turn 6. Thanks, though. |

Run a bunch of generic Ongoings like Standoff, Concrete Jungle and what have you; I'm sure there's enough of them, and Mobilize for Crisis. Have you considered Mole Man? Crisis solves the unaffiliated problem. |

The thing is that I have an Ongoing Revenge Squad deck. I want to run a Revenge Squad deck that doesn't have anything to do with Ongoing Plot Twsits. |

To power-up, or be powered-up by if it comes to that, the other Metallo. Besides, all the other 4-Drops for Revenge Squad are not very good. Edited by Lex Luthor Jr, Apr 2 2010, 10:22 PM.

You have access to Bizarro 4, who if nothing else, is an 11/7 4 drop. Eradicator is a semi useful 6 drop. Perhaps Massacre, Silver Banshee or the girl Parasite over Lex 3 drop? There's not a whole lot you can do with them without the ongoing theme. Even with generic ongoings, Maxima can still be a beast. |

Eh. Nevermind. I wanted to build a second Revenge Squad deck. Everyone I asked would start talking about Ruin, Maxima, and Ongoing Plot Twists. Then when I explain that I wanted a deck that had nothing to do with Ongoing Plot Twsits, they'd look at me like I'm out of my mind. Guess it's just not meant to be. |

Well it CAN be done. It would just kinda be a curve aggro deck with no rhyme or reason, because RS really has no secondary theme. You can run Crisis and then Mobilize and what have you and a bunch of pumps, which might be fun if you were fighting a Superman deck. |

Let's be honest here, there just isn't another Revenge Squad theme, other than Ongoing-centric. However, there ARE two different versions of Ongoing-Revenge Squad. 1) Combat: Big guys, and ongoings that make them bigger. 2) Control: Out of combat stuns, double stuns, and KOs based around Ongoings Also, there are a couple other random combinations that are Revenge Squad focused, although they do require an ongoing or two, the deck isn't about ongoings. Bizarro Ray: Combined with characters like Valentina Vostok, Random, or Doom (Armies of Doom on Power Armor Elite is fun), or even in combination with Human Torch goodies. Injustice Gang: It ends up being about IG Hand Fill, but it can be tweaked to be more Squadish. Board Control: There are some really fun KO effects in RS, in conjunction with Vengeance and Fatal Weakness, along with Hidden Agenda, you can do some interesting things. (I saw Superman, Returned in a build a while back that was random and fun). Anyway, that's my two-cents. |

crisis was my original inspiration to run the lex6 to psymon 7 lockdown. the only trick to it was ensuring i had the ability to attack on a possible defensive turn 6. fate artifacts and some counter love served well on most occasions, while lex 5 or mr. sinister keep the playfield under wraps. with onlt 4 go-to cards for the team-up. (crisis) a playset of teamwork is handy for the additional search, and as always, blind-sided's for the infamous debilitating attack from lex on 6. In a more modern version i'd consider looking into shape change comboed with asguard and death/beyonder for some serious brick potential, but my mind is simply wandering at the moment. maybe aquaman/poseidonis shenanigans as a base of proverbial operations for multiple uses... pure jank mind you, but a hella fun idea to play around with. I love the Lex/Psimon combo. I used to play Brimstone/Psimon combo lock (with Absorbing Man/Unfair Advantage) and got many a frown. Lex works better. |

While it doesn't have all that much support, the Revenge Squad do have a secondary theme of DEF reduction in their content from DSM forward. However, it does benefit from some Ongoings. Relevant content for DEF reduction includes: Brainiac 2.5 (DSM) Brainiac 12 (DWF) Brainiac 13 (DCX & DWF) Manchester Black (DWF) Lex Luthor (DCR) Power Armor Elite (DGL); especially good in a Lex legend deck. Ultraman (DWF) Kryptonite (DSM) Bizarro Ray (DJL) Hostile Takeover (DWF) Never-Ending Battle (DWF) The Vengeance characters in the Revenge Squad make another theme, who can make good use of Fatal Weakness, Hidden Agenda, and even Gorilla Warfare (all DWF cards), as mentioned above. They might combo well with this DEF-reduction stuff (including the various generic material for either theme) to make a reasonably useful beatdown-style deck, though I doubt they'll be as good as some of the more straightforward aggro teams. |
