In the vein of King of the Hill, and Golden King I offer a challenge...ok so I'm lazy and I'm looking for your help. As some of you know Majestix has been able to get together a monthly modified golden age game averaging a dozen or so, and well I just don't have a deck and have been too busy to build one. Here are the rules WhereMajestix CCG (map) DescriptionFormat: "New" Golden Age Cost: $6 Prizing: EAs/Hobby League cards/Packs ************************************************************** "New" Golden Age: there are NO BANNED cards anymore, but there are erratas/restrictions (read below): Restricted List (1 copy per deck): Detective Chimp, Bobo T. Chimpanzee (DCR) Frankie Raye <> Nova, Optimistic Youth (MHG) Fiddler, Isaac Bowin (DCR) Nenora, Skrull Usurper (MHG) Valeria Von Doom, Heir to Latveria (MHG) Overload (MOR) Gone But Not Forgotten (DOR) Going Down Fighting (MXM) Erratas: Dr. Light, Master of Holograms (DGL) Activate -> Put target Emerald Enemies character card with cost 2 or less from your KO'd pile into your front row if you don't control a character with the same name as that card. Use only once per turn and only during your recruit step. Blink, Earth-295 <> Clarice Ferguson (MEV) When Blink enters play, put a shift counter on each shifted card you own if you recruited her from your hand, otherwise, put a shift counter on target shifted card you own. Antarctic Research Base (MOR) Whenever you recruit an equipment, if you control a Fantastic Four character, draw a card. This power triggers only once per turn. Talia, LexCorp CEO (DSM) Exhaust a location you control -> Draw a card, then put a card from your hand on the bottom of your deck. Use only once per turn and only if you control another Revenge Squad character. Justice League of Arkham (DJL) Play only during the combat phase. Choose two affiliations among.... Thats all I could get off his page but its the same as it was last time for the new golden age... Its at MajestixxCCG formally known as Edgeworld! http://majestixccg.com/ It basically gold with a few unbannings and some errata on what would otherwise be banned cards. Mostly its been a mixed bag of fun. Nick Fury won the first of these and Hulk won the second. What wins the third ...let me know, I'll play the best deck posted if I can find the cards in time. |

i don't know what sort of decks most people play in your area but i know that i personally dislike straight-up golden age. When those tournaments come up i usually end up playing the most fun deck i have which is probably my shi'ar or morlocks deck. i never get tired of playing those two. In golden age Spidey is always a good way to go too.

I can't honestly think of anything better than that Migga City deck Dave came up with and we all improved upon. Just for the update the deck did get a little few tweaks at the close of the tournament. Here is the deck - // Deck file for Magic Workstation (http://www.magicworkstation.com) // LINKED WITH: MOR;MVL;DJL;MTU;DCR;DWF;DOR;MEV;DGL;MXM;MCG;EHB // Lands 4 [MOR] Avalon Space Station {MOR} 3 [MOR] Lost City {MOR} 1 [MVL] Underground Resistance {MVL} 1 [DJL] Slaughter Swamp {DJL} 3 [MTU] Stark Tower, Team-Up {MTU} 1 [DCR] Dr. Fate’s Tower {DCR} // Creatures 4 [DWF] The Penguin - Crime's Early Bird {DWF} 1 [DWF] Sondra Fuller <> Clayface - Mud Pack {DWF} 1 [DWF] Mad Hatter - Mad as a Hatter {DWF} 1 [MOR] Scarlet Witch-Wanda Maximoff {MOR} 4 [DJL] Poison Ivy, Deadly Rose {DJL} 3 [DOR] Harley Quinn-Dr. Harleen Quinzel {DOR} 3 [DOR] Mad Hatter-Jervis Tetch {DOR} 4 [MEV] Mystique - Raven {MEV} 1 [DGL] Two-Face, Split Personality {DGL} 1 [MOR] Magneto-Master of Magnetism {MOR} 1 [MXM] Anne-Marie Cortez-Acolyte {MXM} 1 [DCR] Jaime Reyes <> Blue Beetle - High-Tech Hero {DCR} 1 [MXM] Sabretooth-Savage Killer {MXM} 1 [MXM] Mystique-Freedom Force {MXM} 1 [DJL] The Joker, Headline Stealer {DJL} 2 [MOR] Blob-Fred Dukes {MOR} 1 [MVL] Juggernaut, Walking Disaster {MVL} // Spells 4 [MCG] Pathetic Attempt {MCG} 4 [MXM] Enemy Of My Enemy {MXM} 4 [DJL] Straight to the Grave {DJL} 1 [DCR] Cloak Of Nabu - Fate Artifact {DCR} 2 [DWF] Usual Suspects {DWF} 1 [EHB] B.P.R.D. Well Migga City would do well against - Ludin Romero (GK/JLA Control): 4-1 in Swiss Chris Bramasco (TNB Reservist): 4-1 in Swiss Jeremy Keeler (AGL) GK/JLA Control TNB Reservist AGL Thunderbolts Doom/IG Hand-Flood Teen Titans Runaways Big Brotherhood Hulk TNNB Secret Society Injustice Gang big hand Thunderbolts/Iron Man FF/MK Green Lantern -Life Gain/Stall It could potentially have problems with - Bussom Buddies Heralds of Galactus Stall Nick Fury Combo Turbo Gamma Bomb - Depends on how much control it has early game. Wolverine Direct Burn Wolverine Legend And I have no idea what the hell this deck does so I am not sure=P - Floronic Man/Mimic Combo I am sure if Dave stops in he can correct me if I made any incorrect assumptions about the match-ups. later, Kj |

The old Fallout Shelter Classic "The Solution" was always a solid meta choice. Checkmate/LoA control with tons of tricks and silver bullets. I played it in every Golden event since the release of DCR and never felt blown out. It could easily be modified to battle the core meta at Majestix CCG. If you're interested, I'll dig up the last list I played. |

Oh I'm interest. You did say League of Assassins didn't you. ...and KK I think the JLA/GK could be hard with Bats popping those lost cities and him running (at least that week) 3 HABs |

I could see how the JLA/GK could pos a threat but its not unwinnable for Migga. The reason being is come turn 3 if he goes to pop a Lost City the Migga player could KO it himself to get another one and come turn 4 Migga would have access to PA, The Joker, and Anne to control the plot twist playing and targeting of Lost or Avalon. Then come Turn 5 Bats has no more tricks once Sabretooth hits the table. BUT I can definitely see how JLA/GK should be put in the "It could potentially have problems with" category. later, Kj |
