Just got done watching it and I have to say I am a little disappointed. It really feels like a corny The Invincibles. Thought the Nightcrawlerish villain was kind of cool, but everything else was blah. Although I do love that black guy (can't remember his name but he was hilarious in 40 Year Old Virgin). If the show makes it past an entire season I will be surprised. later, Kj |

It also seems very predictable. Like I can see the boss she works for some criminal mastermind and I also felt like the husband had obviously had an affair with that detective woman in the past. Something they will use as a plot twist later on. Just felt like it wasn't well written I guess:p. But to each his own and I am glad you enjoyed it:). later, Kj |

Just watched the actual premiere on TV tonight. I didn't see any indication that the dad had any relationship with the detective lady beyond wanting to be an equally-important cop type. I could certainly be wrong, but I don't know where you got that impression in the first place. So far, the kids were kinda lame but thankfully the emphasis was on the parents. I expect there'll be more of a balance with the family as a whole going forward, but hopefully that'll be accompanied by an improvement in the quality of the kids' characters and their storylines as the writers and actors get everyone settled into the roles. Besides, it's not like there's anything else on Tuesday nights...and I need some fun sci-fi in that slot now that Warehouse 13's season ended. |

I thought the writing was horrible. But it was (in part) because ABC wanted to rush the exposition so that we get hooked right away. Unfortunately, it works just the opposite for me (and most other humans) - take some time and get us involved in good characters (Battlestar, Lost, Sopranos, Mad Men) and we'll stick around. This family seems like it just fell off of the Hallmark truck. That said - I'm a fan of the cast and perhaps the story is strong enough to survive the initial episodes...perhaps. I haven't seen it. I've been looking forward to it. I don't expect it to be good, but fun would be enough. I realy want live action supers to work, but it always seems to pale by comparison, and sadly the place I usualy see it fail is in the writing - so sad especialy when so much care and quality writing has been done on shows like...Superman - Batman - Beyond - JLA - Unlimited... or is the delivery of the voice actors just that much better than their choices for live action. It premiers here tonight...maybe I'll even let the kids stay up since gog knows its too hot to sleep. |

I thought there were certainly some fun moments, but it definitely felt rushed. Hopefully once they establish everything they will slow it down a little. I'm not looking for Heroes level of build-up (I'm actually hoping that doesn't happen, Heroes was a little too slow I think), but taking a little more time to tell the story would be good. I'll definitely give the show a couple more episodes before passing judgment on it. The fact that Chiklis and Julie Benz are the lead characters is enough to tide me over for now. I hate to admit it, but I almost hope that I love the show but it flops critically, then I can have it on a single season DVD and don't have to purchase any more seasons. :) |

Uh-Oh, K. It premiered in Northern California last night...so unless SoCal is on time delay, you may have missed it. |

Gak, well I guess the show's doomed then, look what happened when I missed the first episode of the last season of Heroes. Life is so unfair to the unorganized. |

I'm sure ABC tracks the amount of people that watch the show online. That is normally how I get my Smallville fix every week if my weekend was too busy to watch the DVR. I watch it on the WB website. later, Kj |
