This submitted Core Team Pack must:
1) Be 60 cards
2) Be between 35-45 characters and 15-25 non-characters (UDE Ratio=40/20)
3) Be highlander
4) Be comprised of character cards that are on-team and non-character cards that reference the team (exceptions can be made for cards that fit the team's theme well)

When listing suggestions, please include card name AND version. Also, please organize your list. For example:

this list caters to the X-Men aggro decks, but I made a point to include the noteworthy stall cards from the X-Stall lists.

James Proudstar 7-drop may seem out of place, but he just gets HUGE. I chose not to include an 8-drop or higher; the generic pack might have an apoc or something, and I can't see games lasting long enough where prof x 8-drop MMK sees play so people would just cut him.

Maybe you could include Exiles as a sub-theme of X-Men? (Or does everyone detest Exiles I don't know...) Since most of them are dual affiliated anyway. I found that they are an interesting draft strategy and the Highlander rule keeps them manageable.

Are we refining the list yet? At a glace the above looks really solid, but I may have some comments on a few cards. All in all awesome.

Feel free to comment and refine to your heart's content! Your input would be greatly appreciated as you seem to be one of the few of us here who actually has VS Cube experience.

Also, if you have another X-Men List that focuses on a different theme, feel free to post it here. The more ideas/options we have, the better/easier it is going to be when we go to put together our cubes.

I have a couple different themes in my X-Men section (Exiles, Team Attacking/Swarm, and Stall) and it seems to work well.

Like I mentioned in another thread, you need to remember what cards people will take that make them think "Wow, I'm drafting this team!" and the rest are support for those. Basically think of the P1P1 worthy cards. Opening a Nightcrawler, Fuzzy Elf isn't anything special. He doesn't really help any of the X-Men themes in an interesting way and he's not particularly above-the-curve.

Anyway, here's a few cards that caught my eye:

1. Longshot, Rebel Freedom Fighter - This card in way too inconsistent unless you run the X-Corp cycle, Batcomputer, The Illuminati or some other effect that puts or reveals cards on the top of your deck.

2. Ultimate Sacrifice - I found that this was almost never worth it because either I had < 3 stunned characters at any given time, or characters I had in play weren't X-Men affiliated. (Your mileage may vary as I have much smaller team-stamped sections)

3. Cerebro - Same problem, missed too often to be worth it. Granted, I would still play it in a primarily X-Men draft deck, but it was never picked highly.

4. Concussive Force - Careful here, as you only have 3 (?) Cyclops in the whole Cube, might need some testing to see how often it's not a dead card. The Wolverine-stamped cards might be fine because you've got a decent # of Wolverine's that aren't necessarily aligned with X-Men. (Which is also why I suggest designing the Cube as a whole instead of in sections precisely for this reason)

5. You've got a few mediocre cards in there (Nightcrawler, Fuzzy Elf comes to mind) but in general they're fine for what it is.

6. Cyclops, Blue Leader is a really good curve topper for swarm decks. =)

That's all I can think of for now, again I want to commend you on an amazing starting list!
