Fresh of the heels of the DOR Limited, we are having the DOR Golden Playset Tournament.

Again using only 4 copies of each card from MOR and DOR, we are making decks to compete against each other in a double elimination tournament. This time we have enough cards for 25 decks.

They are seeded based on the net points of that team from previous tournaments.

The decks are being balanced this time by cost of characters, using the total of each cost and dividing by the number of decks. (i.e. Each deck should have 6 1 drops, 6 2 drops, 5 3 drops, etc) - If a deck does not have enough of a certain drop, but still has team stamped characters available, the holes are filled with the closest drop left. (i.e. Each deck should have 1 8 drop, but Teen Titans didn't have 1 but had 2 7 drop Ravens left, so she was added in that place).

The seeding for this event is as follows;

1) Fantastic Four (Four Freedoms Plaza)
2) Fantastic Four (New Fantastic Four)
3) Arkham Inmates
4) Arkham Inmates (Rigged Elections)
5) X Men
6) X Men (Xaviers Dream)
7) Teen Titans
8) League of Assassins
9) Negative Zone
10) Homeless
11) Homeless (Mojo's Army)
12) Deathstroke
13) Doom
14) Gotham Knights
15) My Beloved - Gotham Knights/League of Assassins
16) Fearsome Five
17) Brave and the Bold - Gotham Knights/Teen Titans
18) Mutant Nation - Brotherhood/X Men
19) Common Enemy - Doom/Fantastic Four
20) Unlikely Allies - Doom/X Men
21) Brotherhood
22) Skrull
23) Heroes United - Fantastic Four/X Men
24) Sentinel
25) Tupperware

Will the Fantastic Four (Champion of the MOR) or Teen Titans (Champion of the DOR) take the DOR Golden Title, or will familiarity with their decks allow others to jump up and take the tourney?

Will the 54 cards that did not have 1 single copy played in the 1st 2 tourneys make their debut apperance here, or will they go unplayed and for the most part "useless"?

Stay Tuned VS Fans!

(And Scott, I promise to post the decklists for each deck as well, BEFORE they are assimilated)

Some early matches were played this weekend.

Brave and the Bold (Nathan-Me) beats Fearsome Five (Morgan) 5 to -26 on Turn 8, thanks to the appearance of The Big Blue Boy Scout

League of Assassins (Nathan-Me) beats Tupperware (Caleb) 44 to -1 on turn 6. Tupperware celebrated the 6 damage they did on the last round as Ras al Ghul and Mystique 6 drops traded blows.

Sentinel (Caleb) beats Negative Zone (AJ) 24 to -12 in 7 rounds, despite the appearance of Annihilus on Turn 7, Master Mold and Bastion provided too tough an opposition.

Doom (Andy) beats Unlikely Allies (Nathan) 14 to -16 on Turn 9. Unlikely Allies tried to steal the game with The Power Cosmic on 8, but Doom thwarted the effort and won 1 turn later.

Decklists will appear each time a deck is eliminated, along with a rundown of what cards were used in the tournament by that deck and the number of times it was used, so hopefully that will give the information seekers a little more of what they seek.

Ok, so many matches have been played, but I have decided not to break down each one. Instead I will list the 25 decks in inverse order of finish, with the results of their matches and some thoughts their player had about the deck.

I will add decklists a little later, but will make the spaces now.

#17-League of Assassins - Player: Nathan
Record: 1-2, Beat Tupperware 44 to -1, Lost to Sentinel 13 to -12, Lost to Homeless:Curve -9 to -27.
This one hurt, League is my favorite team of MOR-DOR, and made it to the Championship of the DOR Limited tourney. Even hitting my curve 4-8 (Ras, Whisper, Ras, Lady, Ras) was not quite enough against the Homeless hitting their 4-8 (Lightning, Lady Deathstrike, Brother Blood with Dual Sidearms, Juggernaut, and the Demon) I ended up falling in 9.

King Snake in the front row with Twin Firearms proved quite a hassle in that last match.
