We're all friends here, Ken. You can just flat out ask us how we store our porn. No need to hide behind comics. We won't judge you.

I wish it was just bad, Wonder Woman has been faltering for a while and the newest revival attempt is so poorly written it is difficult to read through. W/E on the costume, but I need a story I care about to read. I here because I love the character, but if I want to be bored I can do that for less than...Drawing the Line at $2.99.

I'm becoming more accepting of digital media, but I still fear for each and every PDF I purchase. I can't store it in enough places not to be concerned that it will one day just disapear. I've lost a lot of writting on old PC's that just died and while having a flast drive always in my pocket has helped, well one too many times through the washingmachine and I may have just washed that money I spent away.

How do you (and how many places) store your digital media?
Totally agree with those concerns.

I've lost a fair bit of iTunes music over the years.

I'm super paranoid with digital photos too. We back up on burnt DVDs, two external hard drives and try to keep them on the computer for as long as possible.

I'm surprised DC is going to try to sell readers the same comic (JLA #1) twice. Even at a discounted rate, it just seems crazy to buy the same thing twice.

I left monthly comic purchasing back with Marvel Heroes Reborn (1995-ish?), this feels similar to that.

Heroes reborn was 1996 - 97

i remember as i was in 6th grade.

also i think same price for download as physical is just lame as hell. Ok keep up the good for for dcp and the Minutemen guys who do the .cbr files, with prices like that.

I love comic books, but not at the prices they exist at.

Personally, I'd like it if hard copy comics came with a free digital copy ... I'd really like to enjoy digital comics, but I still struggle with the idea of value as it pertains to "non-real" comics. Hahaha.

@Ike - I just read today that they offering a deal that if you purchase a #1 of JLA it will be bagged with a code for a digital copy for 4.99. You can also just buy the print version just for 3.99, but the digital will STILL cost 3.99 by itself! Regular sized digital books will start at 2.99 and four weeks later will drop to 1.99.

While I'm glad to see them finally going full steam with the digital books, I think the price point is still way off. You can't expect people to buy issues at the same price as the print versions. I understand they don't want to undermine the retailers, but 2.99 for a digital copy is just absurd. I'll just keep downloading mine for free thank you! :P

As I posted earlier, I'm quite fond of the "old ways", but the fact is the world is changing and retailers/media producers are going to have change with it.

I love comic shops and don't want to see them disappear, but maybe companies like DC have to find a new way to support the viability of those stores rather than - arguably - rip off the consumer.

The consumer is the focus in all of this, not the manufacturer and not the retailer in the middle - that one-time economic reality is now as dead as the dodo. The consumer is the most powerful party in business.

As I said, a free digital copy with every hard copy comic I guy would be something I'd value and appreciate as a customer. It'd keep me going back to the comic shop.

From what I understand, comic shops don't make that much money from monthly comics anymore anyway ...

one thing that is not being talked about is that store retailers will be able to still sell digital through them.

it sounds more like an internet cash kickback scam, but the way one of the local stores talks about it. Think of it like the Itunes/WOW cards you can buy at best buy.

not sure if that is going to really help pay their bills, but better than being left out of the loop

I was afraid they'd charge the same cover price for digital.

DC would make more money selling comics at $2 to 20,000 people than it would at $3 to 10,000. But it's choosing to prop up the direct market sellers instead.

But just like the publishing industry is seeing with ebooks, the public won't stand for it.

We all know it doesn't cost as much to make a digital copy as it does a paper one. In fact, once DC uploads the first copy the marginal cost of each download is practically zero!

Frankly they should be selling the digital JLA #1 for 99 cents! Don't you want more people to read this book, DC? Isn't that the whole point of the relaunch?
