I think you're missing the true subtlety of the new Ra's Al Ghul. If you take evens, your opponent doesn't get a full build phase... they actually cannot drop an 8 drop if they had any locations at all. That makes him the ultimate winner in control-vs-control; and you generally shouldn't need an 8-drop to win vs aggro. So I actually think he's perfect; he's the only 8-drop printed that actually stops Shazam, the two Hulks, and other "game enders".

Yeah, I played League in the DCN tournament and my wins were always punctuated by the 8 drop Ra's, truly a game ender.

So, I was talking to some of the guys at the WoW draft I played in this past weekend about the rumor they were told. They said the rumor being spread was that Phoenix Games picked up the VS System engine and were going to start producing the game again. Unfortunately, we have heard nothing from Phoenix Games, and UDE says they didn't sell the engine. I guess someone just wanted to play a dirty trick on the VS community.

Which Phoenix Games? I googled it and there were like 8 or 9 of them.

Unless UDE have out right lied, in more than one place, Vs. hasn't been sold.

Unless the rumor is about Pheonix Games (whoever they are) partnering with UDE to produce Vs. I highly doubt there is any truth to it...

I just thought about something. If it should ever get sold we can't use any of our old cards with the new game. Unlike Wow and Yugi, they have a Giant UDE stamp on the back of the card. Meaning if the game were to get picked up all old cards would be considered marked cards in regulation tournament unless stated other wise.

Wow had an Upper Deck symbol on the card backs. You can still use those cards, you just need opaque sleeves.

Yeah like that's never happened before....

Not saying that's the case here since I find it very unlikely this has happened, just saying that UDE hasn't exactly been the most honest and forthcoming company in the world

/end massive understatement

Phoenix Games bought and publishes Warlord:Saga of the Storm (previously AEG).

They do a pretty nice job with Warlord, but frankly, I don't think they have the experience, presence, or money to buy/produce VS unless they converted it to a new license.

Maybe, if they do get the license, they will reprint some of the old cards. It would be nice to go buy some booster packs of DCL.
