Best way to make proxies?

My playgroup is basically ok with proxies of all shapes and sizes, though we try to stay away from writing on a blank card and having black-and-white printouts. We proxy a lot as it was really hard for us to get enough of the later sets (I don't think a single one of us has any Marvel Evolution, and the UDE Store closed before we could get anything with our point cards)

One problem that we run into is that not having the original cards, even if we get color proxies, they look pretty bad in most cases. Of course, there is no way a proxy, color or otherwise, would look as good as the original, but we're doing the best we can with limited resources. Having sites like the new VS card database and TCGplayer help, but the lack of high-quality original art serious hampers the production of good-looking color proxies.

Does anyone else here have this problem? Any ideas?

I only proxy Mobi and EoME, and usually use UDE point cards, Transformations or some other useless commons.

I use MSE (magic set editor). The quality is pretty good but you cant always find the original picture that was on the card (mse uses a template). Personally I dont see any problem with having a shield picture on my mobilizes [grin]

KK made a video a little while back on how to make REALLY high quality proxies. Hopefully someone still has the link and can post it here.
