Final 6 MEQ Cards

I know this isn't the right place to post this...but it deserves attention. I am seriously considering selling my set of the Final 6 MEQ cards. I have to admit I SERIOUSLY value these cards.

I am not set on selling them just yet but want to gauge interest. I would prefer to avoid Ebay but many people can definitely vouch for me on 1) having the cards and 2) being very good about working out deals with people and coming through.

My initial thought is that I would like to get $1200.00 for the 6 of them, but I am leaning towards more.

PM me if you are interested or email me at reidcox@mac.com. This is not an auction and I am not for sure going to sell them, but tough times call for tough decisions some times.

Do you have real issues with ebay? I think you could get more that way, also would attract more potential buyers. Set a reserve price and you won't have to worry about losing anything if it doesn't hit your desired price. Also advertise (like you have) that you are going to do this, so that everyone knows when you are going to do this so that they can all bid for it.
These cards haven't been seen for so long, so I don't even know how much you could get at this point. I know I paid over $1,000 for my set on ebay.
I, myself would not be interested in buying the 6, but I am missing 3 from another set that I would consider if I stumbled across them.

EBay would be the way to go; this follows the standard economic model that people will value what they have far more than what they do not. $1200 is way, way higher than the market value for those 6 cards, so you're unlikely to get any nibbles. An eBay auction would be the way to go, though you'd probably be sad with the results, given your relative value.

I bet he could get over $1,200 on ebay. The real question is - would he make more splitting them up or selling in a lot...

Does anyone know the link for the MEQ cards that weren't available so I could download them. I understand that they are the only "proxies" that are legal.

Yeah Dave you aren't valuing them enough actually. I've seen the Iron Man sell for, god what was it, $300 I THINK. These cards haven't been on the market in so long if they all 6 popped up all of a sudden I bet bids would go through the roof. However I have no doubt you'll make more on them if you split them up.
The lowest one will sale for will be $150-$200. The higher valued ones will go for more than that.
Make that money Reid:),

Drooled again for truth.

My wife would leave me and take the cards with her and burn them on a pyre if I even thought about forking over that much for cards.

P.S.

You missed that I've always been this negative.

So, both, I guess.

I didn't debate the Iron Man could sell for $300 (as it has before), but now even that would be "questionable". I mean, honestly is there a person who would "buy it now" (has the money AND desire) if he said "first person to offer $500 gets it"? I would be interested to see that.

Which is why an eBay would prove things right; and give the fair market (and usually, slightly above market) value for the cards. I did try to look up and see if a set has been eBayed; there was one set where the auction was pulled, and the person posted here they had a standing offer for $300. Do you know where the Iron Man alone sold for $300?

Thanks for the feedback guys...I feel like this is the equivalent to choosing to put a child up for adoption...obviously not the real equivalent but its a gut wrenching thing to think about....I am so close to a complete set of VS cards that to take the 6 rarest and send them out would maybe break my heart.

I can almost guarantee if ScottkThompson didn't already have his complete PLAY SET of every Vs card. He'd buy these in a heart beat...hmmmm or does he. I know he has at least one complete set of the final 6. Whether or not he has a play set of them I am unsure.
Maybe you should hit him up,
Kj
