So I've been thinking about doing this for awhile now, a 3D alter on a VS System card. I've seen a lot of these done to Magic The Gathering cards (as seen here 3D Magic Cards). I will probably start with a common and/or something I have a lot of, but if you guys have any ideas for which card to try, I'm all ears. I will not be attempting a life counter version, at least not just yet. Maybe someone has already done this with VS System cards, if so post some pics please. I will when I'm finished... |

I myself had thought about doing this a few months back as well after seeing how awesome some of the MtG cards turn out. Made a few that turned out ok for being first attempts, might have to read through that thread you linked to to get some ideas for fine tuning everything. Anyway, here are the ones I've done so far: Falcon Spoiler: click to toggle Big Three Spoiler: click to toggle Also have a Jean Grey MVL 2 drop that I finished and a Cannonball MEV 5 drop I was working on but didn't take pictures of yet. |

That's pretty cool. Is it just multiple copies with various parts cut out of each layer? |

Correct. For example, with Falcon the layers I used were: Layer 1: full card Layer 2: removed background Layer 3: removed buildings, background Layer 4: removed wings, buildings, background, leaving only Falcon Layer 5: removed all art from card, leaving text box, ect. as a frame |

Those are nice, good to see this will work on VS cards. There's a few different threads about 3D Alters for MTG, but I only posted that one as it had good looking results and techniques. Furthermore, you could add a blank layer (cut out whole picture) in between certain layers to add more depth and 3D feel to it. I also think that Falcon would be more hotness if the base layer (layer 1) was foil .
