A friend from church and I got into a conversation on Marvel crossovers a few weeks ago. He seemed really interested so I recommended he check out some of the newer ones.

Today he shows up at services and tracks me down to hand me a bag. He works at a local Half-Price Books and was in charge of unpacking comics and arranging them in the bins so they can flipped through. As he was doing so, he came across Marvel Civil War #'s 1-7 in mint condition. He gave them to me as a gift. How cool is that?! I've always wanted the full run and will now have to be on the look out for the various books in the reading list.

To top things off, my box of MVL that I ordered is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. It'll be a good couple of days.

Ah a comic book thread.
I enjoyed Civil War, and read most of the tie-ins. Some were good, like Spiderman and Deadpool, and some were just filler.

The Stamford Incident was a great plot device to set the Act in motion.

I'll always remember Iron-Fist/Dare-Devil giving the coin to Tony Stark, who he called Judas.

The Marvel Civil War trade was one of the first comics I ever bought (as a serious reader). It's probably not my favorite event, but still has that special place in my heart. lol

It was awesome at the time, because it really had fans debating over who was right. It was very well written in that regard - neither side was portrayed as "correct".

Its by far not the best cross-over, but the story did move Marvel into a new direction. I never was a big fan of Captain America, or Iron Man. But they made a good story.
I did not like how they treated Spiderman. I said it couldnt get any worse.
Then Joe Quesada took over.
[bite] (sigh)...... [bang]

QFT. Me and my friends had an hour-long-plus debate a little while ago about whether Iron Man or Captain America was correct in the context of the Civil War. It was really fun (and REALLY nerdy [cool] )

I understand that Civil War will be one of the support books coming out in the new Marvel RPG by MWP using the cortex + system. Age of Apoc and Anihilation something as well.

I don't know, the main Civil War mini really portrayed the registration as the bad guys. Not to mention some god awful dialogue ("Amazing" "Spectacular") I wasn't a fan of this crossover, but it did bring Hercules to the spotlight.

Anyways, Annihilation is leagues better. ;)

Im almost finished with Age of Apoc. Sunfire is pretty bad in it. And its nice making Sabretooth the hero.
But I've yet to read Anihilation yet.
Also, some what on subject, I just picked up the rest of my collection of Deathlok from the comic shop. 22-34. I REALLY like the series, with Michael Collins.
Anyone else read it?
