Which of these gentlemen will sit in one of the 5 seats of honor? We'll vote on that at the beginning of the year!

"Wait - Carlos - I thought you said voting begins today!"

I lied.

Actually, I thought about it and I think over the holidays perhaps we should get to know our nominees a little better. Maybe they could do us the honor of letting us know what they'd like to do for our favorite game come 2012. (This might help us to decide where to cast our votes too, since in my opinion all of the candidates are fantastic! [coolguy] )

As a potentially returning member of the Council and current head of the Committee, I'm obviously looking to continue to facilitate new material for Vs to keep the game fresh. We have some excellent members of the Committee working on Marvel Galaxy right now and we'll be looking to add new blood for future design/development. It's been a learning process for the first year of the Committee and armed with our experiences I am hoping we can make the next year even better! (and for DC lovers, we're not just working on Marvel material... we're hoping to have a surprise for you all in the future in those regards as well!)

As a New Year's resolution for myself, I am going to try and get the Vs System Database fixed up and get the newly Council Approved material added as well.

Another thing I am hoping to achieve is to continue to make high-quality proxy cards available for fan sets. We've had great success with DLL and DCN in the past couple years and I am hoping Marvel Galaxy and future Committee projects will be able to receive the same deluxe treatment!

Lastly, as the head of TCG acquisitions and pricing at CoolStuffInc.com, I will do everything I can to try and keep Vs product in stock and available for the loyal fans out there (plus, since this is my *actual* job I'll be performing this duty no matter what. Score! [laugh] ). Vs is my true TCG love and I will continue to help support it however I can! [cloud9]

Sorry if this has been said earlier but....how does voting process work?

Am I supposed to vote for one candidate or more? Or for the full (5 members) commitee?

Thank you in advance

As a potential new member of the Council, I will work/help to forster a new 2012 World Tour. I really think that face-to-face tournaments are the best thing for Vs. By the way, the specially designed playmat was great and is a very-valued item for fans.

In France we had the pleasure to host 2 mega-weekend this year (1 official in Lyon and 1 non-official in Paris). With these events we can keep interested old players (planning for new decks, trading cards, eating junk food,...) and convert new players to Vs (3 newly converted players played in Paris earlier this month).

Traditionally, we each vote for 5. Though if you guys feel we should do it a different way, I'm all ears. [cool]

i suck at campainging so im sorry is im not as articulate as the others with the awnsers to your questions. well, being that ive never really thought much about what i would do with the game im having a lil bit of trouble with my answer. i guess i would try to get the community more active again. i gotta say that its been a bit of a slow year for .Org and we could use a pick me up. i suggest tryin to get more tournys and hobby leagues in using both fan and ude creations. get some new formats going to keep things fun. allow for more imput form the community when creating sets. maybe if Homer J and and Cliff ever find the time, get the ring has chosen up and running again, and if not find some1 else to make videos, or blogs about vs and other non-vs related thing u might find interesting. We should start giving non- DC/Marvel sets a shot at approval, well at least 1-2 a year because Hellboy was neither of those two yet it was a very fun mini-set that alot of ppl enjoyed and it gave us BPRD signal device. That card is IMHO one of the best equips in the game and a staple in alot of decks running equips or going one man army. hell even for decks with just 1 set of equips, alot of time its that 1. so come on guys, lets give the other companies a shot and who knows a non-dc/marvel set might end up being the best vs set that the community ever cranked out. o yea, one more thing. never make a set like MEV ever again.

Im a man of few words so Ill go straight to the point, I think we should focus in new vs material via fan creations and online tourneys that support the fan cards is a must, people often come to this site to see what news are around and we could use this promote the fan sets (look at the sets that were made by the council, they are great and have quality that matches with the official ones) so I think we should go on that route.

I, like a few other of the council nominees, am completely new to this thing. When asked what I would bring to the council, I'm not exactly sure how to best answer that question. I am definitely passionate and excited about the best game ever created (that being vs system in case there was some doubt).

In this coming year, I am wanting to start getting involved by playing online, and trying to set up some European online "game times" and tournaments, as it is often hard for European players and players from the US or Australia for example to be able to play at the same time.

I would also like to help promote the areas of trading/selling of our favorite game.

The most interesting aspect that the council has brought to vs system in the past, however, is the fan sets, which I (we) are ecstatic about. I have no idea how to create a card, how to get images, or any of that stuff, but I can be a good cheerleader. "Go team!" "Design those cards!" I honestly stand in awe of those who are doing this, and appreciate all of the hard work that goes into it, although it is fun hard work.

With those things being said, in conclusion I might want to consider myself to be a "junior" council member, and maybe not even be elected, but try to gain experience from others and learn how I can serve right now, and maybe next year, or the year after be a more productive leader/promoter of this awesome game.

We can not let it die. All fans of vs system must keep up their passion.

That's all 4 now.

To council nominees.

I have a lot of cards, I'm sure I'm not unique (in this way), but I am terrrible about getting them into the hands of those who would love them (if you exclude my children who have cards everywhere).

If there were someone local who was better about distribution, I would be willing to help with prize product or common/uncommon distribution to help folks get decks together. I don't want to surrender all I have, but if it was going to a good home I could pony up boxes of cards to help others. I'm probably not the only guy like this, if we could find some local reps to help get folks what they need I would be all for it.

Then maybe Shadow Trooper would finally have those birthing chambers I still have sitting in an addressed envelope for but have never stamped and sent...oh these many years later.

I'm currently working on getting the 2012 mega weekends started, and might... MIGHT, have some big news for the community down the road. Fingers crossed (and it will explain why I've posted less in the past three months).

Here are my plans - whether or not you choose to have me hold a seat in the council. First and foremost, we've got to keep the longevity of the game in mind. Why are you here on this site? You care about the game. One of the reasons I care so much is because of the friends I've met through the game and that I keep meeting through events run by fans. I still keep in touch with many. My point is VS needs to be an experience.

This means drumming up support for real life events. Re-establishing hobby leagues. Promoting casual formats. People really like limited formats, but it's hard to justify 12 packs for one game of sealed or finding 7 others to draft. At the December MW, we tried out 1v1 Winston and it was the hit of the weekend - 6 packs for 2 people is fair I think. Please forgive the following segue - for those of you who play magic, their EDH/Commander format is hugely popular as a casual format. Part of what makes it popular is the variance in gameplay and it's Golden Age cardpool yet it's still balanced (since it is singleton). Our Big Deck format achieves the same feelings in gameplay that EDH does, so I'll do what I can to promote Big Deck as a format.

On the subject of new cards, I will contribute to any others' project if I'm asked to like for playtesting, but it is a low priority for me - new cards are great, but there needs to be people around first to use them.

So that's my plan, whether or not I'm voted onto the council. Let me know if you have any thoughts or if there's anything I can answer for you.

A vote for OSM is a vote for puppies - save the puppies! [grin]
